  1. Day 58. Skied with friends in fog, snow, and graupel (free Big Mountain face peel with every run). Snow was great. Visibility was variable.
  2. Day 57. Pretty empty and all kinds of weather. At least some of it was more snow.
  3. Day 56. More fresh snow, fewer people, and visibility.
  4. Day 55. Ankle deep and more even on groomed runs, so no need to dive into the trees. Full body workout. l
  5. Day 54. Stellar conditions over most of the mountain. Took an off piste run, which is rare at my age.
  6. Day 53. Winter is back, with more snow on the way. Not a moment too soon. Today's was medium density, good for coverage, but skiable. Unfortunately, lower on the front got packed and was like a marble floor with lumps in areas with a lot of traffic. Scary as hell with meat missiles who can't ski for shit. The trouble is, you can't stay on the back forever, you must return home via some route or other through that hell.
  7. Day 52. Spent the day baby sitting a visitor from MN. Will not do that tomorrow. Needed a stiff drink when I got home.
  8. Day 51. Same old, same old...
  9. I missed over a week due to the flu.
  10. Day 50. More sunshine. This is not a good thing.
  11. Day 49. More spring skiing with friends.
  12. Day 48. Forgot to take pics until the last run since I was skiing with friends.
  13. At least there's a lower number of skiers per square foot here.
  14. Day 47. Everything hard as granite all day, including a damned normally-groomed area that I like to hit, but you can't exit once you get there and it wasn't. Rock hard mush in lumps, chunks, and ridges. Glad I survived that mess. Did find skiable trails here and there.
  15. Day 46. It's spring here. I skied until the slop and crowds were getting excessive.
  16. I lost the rest of my comments due to a time out. Probably just as well. Not going to subscribe.
  17. He was here Monday. He should have come a week sooner. I can't believe he went to the Firebrand.$$ Monday was a mixed bag, definitely not the best. His chair buddy sent him to Flower Point, which was a good choice early in the day. He then ignored them and went to East Rim. That would definitely have warmed him up.
  18. Day 45. No Name was worth repeating, but is tough to lap. There are a ton of ski clubs here that I wish would leave. They seem to predominately consist of the clueless.
  19. Day 44. The morning web cam showed it was going to be a glorious day and it was. But this is too much "Spring", too early. l
  20. Day 43. The worst fog I've been in, in 25 years, on the Ant Hill today. I couldn't figure out where "down" was to look for the next fog ball. Tried following people, but they rapidly disappeared and I had to wait for another. Fortunately, Flower Point wasn't as bad and there was skiing bliss to be found on its silky snow. If only that lift wasn't so slow!! Mixed in a few chair 5's to break it up, but it's no speed demon, either. Could have skied that stuff all day but the slow lift and dumping graupel finally sapped away any warmth.
  21. Day 42. A real mixed bag. First run was a confidence-destroying slog through windpack, looking for blown-off areas or chopped up stuff. Headed to back and found Saturday-level crowds. Then went over to Chair 2 for mashed potatoes and cottage cheese.
  22. Day 41. Missed a whole week of powder due to the flu. Had a shaky first day back and it's a different season. Went from polar conditions to early spring.
  23. Day 40. Cold and clear. Strangely empty.
  24. Day 39. -12°F if the sign at the top was to be believed. Snow was slow, so maybe. Managed to crank out 30,350 vertical feet by 2:30, so called it good. Haven't done that since 2014.
  25. Day 38. Single digits and high winds again, so upper lifts weren't open until I left. Took a dozen runs and had given up on Chair 1 ever opening, left at noon.
