  1. Wow, they look really wide. Must be shorter than I thought.
  2. You must be getting a lot more powder days than when I lived back East...
  3. They had an opening at Crystal for a single day, October 1, a Tuesday, offered 51 tickets for sale earlier this month. Crashed the server in 20 minutes. Got the server up, added another 24 tickets, gone in an eye blink. Clearly there's lots of people thinking skiing.
  4. Here I was thinking they weren't moving very fast, so most wouldn't consider whatever this is much of a deal. Think about it. The areas are pretty much the whole New York/PA metro area. How many skiers hit that list of areas? Gotta be over 100,000. And they're selling five a day? Hell, we've got a waiting list for lockers longer than the number of those passes they've sold.
  5. Skimom? Absolutely. And with Adam.
  6. Sibby used to be in one of the ski houses. Think Lassie.
  7. According to Wikipedia, Camelbeach was built in 1998, although the Alpine Slide was there for WAY WAY before that.
  8. Boy...He's done too much to his brain over the years. Gotta cut back on those pharmaceuticals, Doug.
  9. I've got birthday party pictures of Siblet when she was just a tyke...well a bit older. 1998 maybe. Sort of surprised how "the same" she looks.
  10. There's a gap? Where are you skiing, South Carolina?
  11. Well, I'd hate for the Poconos to lose a ski area because real estate and hotels were the only thing bringing in money.. Even if you don't ski there, it would impact you if all those people started filling the corrals at Blue.
  12. Interesting. It would be nice if it were a ski area conglomerate and not a casino conglomerate.
  13. I agree in general, but lat year was supposed to be warm here and it was. General statement.
  14. IMO, tough to tell for us. NOAA shows our temps above normal. Whether it's snow or rain will depend on what "normal" is and how much above it is. Safe to say my favorite, single digit temps are not part of things, though. It would be nice to have LESS FOG this year.... At this point, to me, the jury is still out.
  15. I recall flying first class once. Business. At that time whatever company I was with had some kind of distance thing where if the trip was longer, you got first class. Naturally that disappeared by the time I was sent to Munich..
  16. It's a close to $200 difference between flying out of PHL vs. ABE to come here. That's a huge difference.
  17. More like mid 70's. I didn't know how to ski in the sixties.
  18. Some of the coldest days of my life were at Stowe. Back when they had that single chair and blankets.
  19. In all the right places. Hopefully they have a better season start than they did last year.
  20. Do they only make them in two colors?
  21. I think both directions come through at night. You have to ride one of the many freight trains to see anything.
  22. A tour guide to point at darkness?
  23. Okay. Last week. Views from where they are putting in the new chairlift.
  24. Since this is logging country, not cowboy country, they might take a chain saw to you.. Most of the cowboys are on the Eastern side of the Divide.
  25. Yeah, don't wear one here.. You'll look like a Texan.
