  1. More to the point, my first day on skis will be in 86 days.
  2. I've seen that elsewhere, many times.
  3. Plus, I would never provide resort snowfall statistics as evidence of anything. There is no consistency behind WHEN, or WHERE they measure. A nine inch difference just means they are the same. Spread nine inches over 120 day season. What's that, less than a tenth of an inch a day? Doesn't even cover gravel. Maybe compare their base depth on the last day and then you'll learn something.
  4. Depends on your goals. Jeff's goal might be to land a rich wife.
  5. http://www.linkedin.com/pub/jesse-boyd/14/8b1/a91 The fact that he (Huff) was using JFBB's shipping accounts makes me wonder if all the resorts they own aren't being used as fronts for something bigger.
  6. Might spend a few days in Montana.
  7. I'm kind of alarmed that he's attached to this board, myself.
  8. This site Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Seriously, the topic with the most activity is "Doug". And I'm not even reading his posts.
  9. Believe me, I no longer qualify.
  10. It needs a new name. Cougar Ridge or something. Even Luzerne Mountain would be an improvement.
  11. Apparently, Warren Miller Entertainment was here in January. http://player.vimeo.com/video/71989338 There's three glimpses in the trailer - probably means 30 seconds in the actual movie. My understanding is that 5-7 minutes of the film is in Montana, which includes Big Sky, and maybe Red Lodge as well, so how much time will we get? I do know that they were shooting something with a guy named David Steele sometime last season..
  12. A local guy picked up a pair with bindings from that sale for $349!
  13. Just a tip. If you like Nordica, there is a sale going on at Start Haus for the last couple weeks of skis with cosmetic blemishes. I picked up a pair of 2013 skis there for Siblet for $299. I missed the sale last year, damn it, it started just as I picked up my newly-mounted skis. This was advertised on Epic and I understand 100 of us have already hit it hard, but there appear to be many skis left. http://shop.starthaus.com/store/pc/2013-Nordica-Blemish-Ski-Sale-c311.htm?m=1&ProdSort=1&catviewall=t&idCategory=311
  14. I'm not a mountain biker, but apparently we have a pretty good setup here: http://www.mtnadvisor.com/article/the-best-bike-parks-in-the-mountain-west/?id=239
  15. He'd probably follow me into the trees, and then the contest would be to see who left whom in the tree well.
  16. You're heading to Seattle or something?
  17. I haven't even been to Fernie or Schweitzer. However, before we moved, I'd been to Banff.
  18. We have an airport. We have trains. And we are only 60 miles from the Canadian border. Spokane is just slightly farther than Missoula. 5.5 hours to Calgary. 4.5 to Spokane 3 to Missoula
  19. Just to give you an idea of the impact... The population of the town was just over 6000 at the last census.
  20. Summer is our (the town's) high season. Out of 760,000 visitors, 400,000 are summer visitors, just July and August. Don't forget, Glacier National Park is right by us. Not only is there mountain biking at the resort, but zip-lining, an aerial obstacle course, the chairlift, guided nature walks, etc.
  21. The gondola is only used in summer - notice no place for skis. They alternate the gondolas with chairs. I don't use them because they are hot and the plexiglass is all scratched. But they are good for people with small kids or slightly-better for those with fear of heights. We have extensive mountain biking and hiking here in the summer and the Summit House is open for lunch and beer on the deck. You can ride up or down winter or summer.

    Boots advice

I guess I skied at Camelback 1974 to 1976, then 1979 to 2003. Was on the old CB board before this board started.

    Boots advice

I grew up in West Chester, moved to Connecticut after grad school, then to Hillsborough, NJ. Moved here in August of 2003. Used to ski with Ray Panella. Saved me a lot of money in skis.. We still exchange Christmas cards.
