It really sounds like maybe there is LITTLE TO NO structure or they are not brushing after waxing. If it's the latter, a run down the mountain usually cures that except in wet conditions. If you've never asked them to structure your board, I can guarantee they haven't done it. After a while any factory structure is worn down either due to use or to heat from the waxing iron. I ski about sixty days a year and get my structure done once a year. YMMV.

I forget, how much is the forum discount? I plowed through a lot of posts and couldn't find it (probably an operator problem, but maybe it's time to repost it anyway).

The crowds alone are enough to make the horrendous lift ticket price not worth it. You'll say to yourself, "I PAID for this crap?"

I just keep mine in my fanny pack and a spare battery in an inside pocket. The camera has a protective case, so putting it in my pocket would be a bit too bulky. It's a Canon Elph.

Seasonal Locker $199 (increase of $45 or so which Siblet funded) Season Pass $535 New Recons, purchased end of last season $429? New bindings, purchased end of last season from store going out of business, $100 Total so far: $1253, not counting Siblet's pass (last year we are paying for it! She's on her own once she graduates. $435 for college pass.)

God, terrain parks are taking over! Glad I moved. Next they'll be putting hits on Nile Mile...

Equipment was probably in the minority, compared with airline tickets and lodging. Out here we have big states, so races in Bozeman were "local". And Bozeman is six hours from here.

All I know is that there has been ONE MONTH this year so far without snow on the mountains -- July.

My daughter started racing at CB years ago before we moved to MT. Which mountain will he be training on? She raced the first year on just any old skis. HOWEVER, if he likes this sport, be prepared to spend MUCHO bucks as he gets older. The older ones will travel more and more to regional races. You have to factor in at least a pair of skis for GS and another for SL every other year, plus helmets, speed suits, lodging, race fees, etc. Hold onto your seat now. The first year my daughter raced FIS races (international racing org), even though they were just regional, I figured that the total cost was $10,000. The following years I just stopped counting. And she wasn't even one of the top racers, just good enough to pass the FIS quotas. But, her skiing is top notch now that she's a senior in college and retired from racing (can't really study if you spend most of spring semester on the road). Compare this first picture to the second. There's nothing like racing to help a kid learn to ski. She is now into "side country" skiing with powder skis and the transition has been easy for her. Her reaction time and balance are the common assets to the two types of skiing.

Because the natural snow is like slush compared to the powder of the west. I've been on Pocono Raceway one time in a foot of fresh powder. (I have NO IDEA how they allowed that to happen.) It was far better than usual, but still really tough to ski in.

For NBC olympics coverage, vote for alpine skiing so we don't have two weeks of ICE SKATING!!!! http://www.nbcolympics.com/vancouver2010/index.html

"It'll always be, 'Big Mountain' to me." Anyone know if we're expected to have El Ni -

Well, pick one as a "tune up", one because you know it's reliable and you've loved it, and one as something totally new. Then you've covered all your bases. -

If you want to come here for a tour, the fee is Habersetts Scrapple, the heck with pretzels. -
Let's all guess. Mine is that it's taken from the switchback on Birches, looking up hill.

I discovered that the above is part of the footage for which this next clip is a trailer:

God, no. I just got my flowers going in my planters, all 27 of them. I'm not ready to start dumping them into the compost heap already. I mean it was just four WEEKS ago we had five inches of snow.

Truly, go over to SkiDiva (www.theskidiva.com) and do a search on the comments about the Aura. Historically, I have HATED "women's skis". This ski I like. A lot. Siblet rocking the trees, April of last year. Siblet and I ski a LOT different. She's got a race background, started skiing when she was three. I learned in my 20's and have 35 years of bad habits and different ski techniques cluttering my technique. I'm timid. She's not. If we BOTH like the SAME ski, that means it'll appeal to a broad spectrum of people. She HATES my K2's, for instance. I like a damp ski, she likes a lively ski.

Siblet's new "normal" ski is the Aura. Only when conditions are hard and fast would she revert to her race skis and that's because she likes to tear up the slopes like she's back on a race course then, NOT because she's unhappy with the Auras' performance. There was one woman who used the Aura to RACE, I think it was in Austria, just a fun race, but she thought it did the job. I can't think it would be good for that, but both times I demo'd the Auras, I thought, this ski is just plain FUN and really builds your confidence. I already own a "powder ski", tho, and can't see adding another ski. I've got the Outlaw and the Recon, and used them 50-50. There's just no sense in using the Outlaw on days you don't have to, tho, because it's HEAVY. However, two friends of mine ski it all season. There are two women I know who ski the Aura 90% of the time. By the way, steer clear of the "Nancy", it sucks.

Please, that's not even a "mid fat" anymore. She's in Colorado now, guys, not PA.
