Let's see, for me that means anything goes all winter in terms of temperature, but above normal precipitation in early winter. Since we get most of our snow here in December and January, it means we'll either open early or open late due to rain. I think that pretty much covers all possibilities......

I sat down myself and came up with some interesting stats which seem to suggest that while Atomic is indeed the runaway winner for the men, that a case could be made that it is NOT the best ski for women:

But, for whatever reason, Bode changes ski manufacturers with each new contract. Based on your comments above, does that mean he is at the end of his career because he is chasing the best deal? He certainly hasn't fallen in love with any particular ski, that's for sure. I think he goes with the money and with whomever seems to be most eager to build to his specs this time. I'm sure you have (or will dig out) the info on the points he's made with each sponsor and I'd be interested to see that kind of statistic. Of course, he was a different age with each sponsor so that's part of the equation as well. I think that exercise would be very interesting for any top skier who has jumped around a lot. I don't think being faithful is necessarily a sign of someone finding the "right" ski, I think there's a degree of superstitution and just loyalty as well. And I go back to my observation that Atomic is not quite the hands down winner for the women. Look at the top skis in your link when it comes to the women: Salomon/Rossignol, Atomic, V

Interesting that Atomic doesn't dominate quite as much for the women. I'd like them to divide the total points by the number of athletes it took to get those points to find out whether it's just a number-of-competitors-using-the- product thing. After all, if (and I don't claim to know here) Atomic spreads the wealth around a lot or gives better sponsorships, thereby getting more athletes on its stuff, it could accumulate points just due to sheer numbers.

Yeah, I wouldn't buy used TECHNICAL gear, but it's so hard to hold speed events that the speed skis might be in great shape. Siblet's first SG skis were once Libby Ludlow's. The next pair (still here) were a sponsored team mate's who only used them for one season, maybe six races?

I can't tell if you've got a sixpack or not, but I know that is a requirement. She likes her men super fit, smart, hard workers, and not "ass87686"s. Also, no drugs. She's now "single" on "facebook" and is getting lots of attention from a couple guys who apparently were checking that status regularly. I expect that status to change again before October.

Only one comment -- I was a passholder at CB for 16 years. Why? Because we had a house there. Why? Because Blue was Little Gap at that (the day we bought the house) point and for us, CB had the best terrain with the quickest access for weekly trips. Certainly the growth of Blue changed the terrain issue a bit, but any time I ever went to Blue for races, the layout or the conditions or the crowds (45 minutes for a ride on the quad one time) re-affirmed the choice. I am sure access/driving issues play a part for everyone, as the people who post here come fom a bunch of different areas, making BB/JF the best, Sno the best, etc. All of the areas, tho, have to keep an eye on the competition or they'll lose their devotees to the next "best" place and CB has a tendency to be complacent. They really need to open up some new terrain off to the east.

Yeah, there's a whole lot of nothing between Chicago and here. I'd fly. Cheaper, a lot cheaper, and quicker. I think once you get to Glacier it's fine, but before that it's dust and cornfields. I hope to hell I'll be skiing with you. Just expect me to ski a LOT slower than in the past. I've lost three months of my life so far and it sucks.

I'm really trying to figure out if TP4 is on his way out here, NOW, in June, when the mountain is not open for skiing and Glacier Park doesn't have the Sun road open yet? Water is way too cold to swim in, snow not really gone from some of the higher hiking trails so there's mud and June is our rainiest month. Seems like bad planning! I guess there's always fishing....

All I know is if I read up on this CRPS thing, I'll freak out and may lose the will to live, so I'm supposed to just keep my mind on the goal.
