The way I read it, he already owns three of the five and he just needs to get two more. To be clearer, he didn't say he wanted to win them all in the same year.

Another article on Bode -- He's found a new goal! http://www.skiracing.com/news/news_display.php/3669/ALPINE

My ONLY skiing injury over 35 seasons (guessing about 12 million vertical feet) of skiing was after a few beers-with-chasers in the CB lounge. I hadn't planned to go out and ski again after that but I did. Fortunately the lesson only involved a few stitches and not a broken neck.

It started out about Bode and suddenly Papasteeze was calling skidude a racer wannabe or something. Well, it wasn't a direct aim, more of a sideways swat. Oddly I'd found myself on PS's side for a bit there, being as how I am SICK TO DEATH OF THE WORLD ANALYZING BODE. Maybe he was actually swatting at ski999 and skidude stood up and received the blow instead. Not clear.

And my goal was only to beat MY record of two seasons back, as much as I'd like to beat you I've said several times I don't think it's doable OR desirable. I spent one day intentionally bombing groomers just to rack up the vert and it was BORING. (Although we don't have a lot of powder in the trees at the moment, so I'm doing a lot of groomers this week anyway.)

Yeah, but you've got 94 days in and he has EIGHT. Let him ramp up a bit.

This was the lower lodge this AM in spite of 200 "Texas Ski Council" members being in town.

Just saw that on the CB site, maybe someone mentioned it elsewhere. Naturally, I immediately wished that was where Doug and Atomic skied.....

Well, he was probably totally fed up with being analyzed by anyone who picked up a newspaper and decided they should have an opinion. If I were him, I'd go into a Buddhist monastery (nunnery?) myself after the last few months. By the way, Siblet's team mate here has a pair of Ligety's skis, with his name on them where he labeled them as his. I'll have to find out for which event they are, probably a speed event I'm guessing as one season Siblet used old skis from Libbly Ludlow for her SG.

The Class Results report shows a DSQ in run 1 for him. http://www.live-timing.com/report.php?r=2362&rp=1814&page=2 This was a revelation by the way as I didn't realize that Metz was over 30.

On the sheet it had something about Vermont up there on the logo. Was this a regional competition?

What is the difference between this event and the NextSnow All Stars which was in Keystone?

FYI, the factory bevel for the Recons is 1 and 1.

Zalesky? Is that a wrestler or something? Or the actual name of Assassin?

Good post.

Welcome back, ski999. Now the question...why do you and Jeff have MATCHING JACKETS? Are you guys an item, on the same team, go shopping together, or what?

Well, a lot of us are using altimeters. And the rest of us should be getting the info for each lift either from the ski area or someone who is using an altimeter. Many trail maps have the vertical rise for the lift, but not all ski area publish it. For instance, I notice that a ton of people skiing CB are using 800 feet for each run. The Sullivan lift is only 750 feet. The Raceway lift is more like 600 feet. The Marc lift may be 800 feet and the Stevenson is 800 feet. The park lift is like 370 or something if my memory serves me. So unless you are only riding one lift, 50 runs times 800 is not your vertical.

Here a slice of "meat pizza" (pepperoni) plus a cup of tea comes to $4.30. They raised the prices and took away the passholder discount at the same time. I shouldn't even be eating pizza, but salad is $6.75. Then the tea on top of that (water is $2). I'd be dropping $9 a day on food if I ate what I'm supposed to. I know I could carry a lunch, but I want something hot when I ski. I bring a snack bar to round things out, but that's the end of the saving money.

I think he's talking about MOUNTAINS, not ski areas.

Yeah? Well, THANK GOD none of them is MY child. The run is "Heap Steep" a black diamond. Look at those inverted maneuvers! I can't even tell which way they are spinning!

I was working, so didn't see all this, but I remember that someone wanted to see the pictures. Here they are. They were FINALLY cutting the Superpipe today. I'll try to remember to bring my camera tomorrow. I left it home today since it was so gray out. Big Mountain Freezestyle Event -- USSA sanctioned
