Well, here's more pictures. First ones are the first time I could see ANYTHING other than white today. I could have taken pictures, but you would have thought they were BLANK. There is a super pipe, but I had posted pictures of it before. It is NOT OPEN. It was supposed to open a couple of weeks ago, but they are waiting on some piece of equipment to arrive from Germany. No one seems to be poaching any runs in it, either. Latest info: "1.25.06 brothers and sisters... just want to give everyone an update on what's happening with the new superpipe. everyone's excited -- no one more so than we, the fishbowl crew. we're so ready to schralp that thing we're drooling all over ourselves. the minute the average temps drop below 24 degrees F, we've got staff and equipment poised and ready to drop over 100 million gallons of snow on the sucker. if that sounds like a lot, well, it is. but that's the real number. so, peace be with you out there, pray for low temps if you're so inclined. somebody call a doctor, because right now we're all being patient, but soon we'll all be sick." We are getting TONS of snow here, frankly I could use a break from it as the roads are a nightmare and I can't see a thing most of the day. But the temperatures are not that low....if they were I wouldn't be getting so darn wet!

Speaking from personal experience, it's probably the ski area didn't pass the info to the divisional webmaster.

Well, it's mostly for tourists. Most of the locals are going off cliffs or in the trees.

I want you to know that this effort cost me about 3000 feet today. The chair only goes up 400 vertical feet and takes as long almost as long as the chair that covers 2100 feet. So I didn't go around labeling all the pages for you. I am sure this is Papa referring to USSA points. Which I couldn't find by the way, there's references to NASTAR and FIS, but Masters racing doesn't seem to have a point system.

The top 3 is the one less than half the races thing. 8/2=4 -1=3 They look at the positions for the best races and add up those WC points. So Ridge has 104 points. I'd say he can miss two races as long as he does well enough in the others. But you might want to worry about Turko having another 40 point finish. And Leneveu is low because he missed a race.

As a proudly non-racing parent of a racer, I have to say I don't think I need to race to appreciate how much coaching from a good coach has improved my daughter's skiing. She spent the first 9 years skiing with me. It made her good enough to get sucked onto the race team without us even trying to get on it. Within weeks of joining the CAT team she had left me in the dust. BUT, even now, the coaches are trying to eliminate some quirks she picked up from me. She was told to stop disco dancing the other day -- her arms too far out to her sides instead of in front. I know she got that from me. And she's been race training for 7 years now. So, old habits too deeply engrained are tough to eliminate. She knows she does it, this is not a new criticism, but at times she is reverting.

Chance has two older brothers who were on the team when Siblet was. They were definitely among the top scorers on the team while she was there, despite a lack of discipline, etc. Mike still seems to be racing this year and doing fairly well. I have not seen race results for BJ this year. Mike and BJ are both active in other sports and I think skiing was not their main focus.

I have 27 years of skiing at Camelback, don't forget. That's what makes me appreciate things here so much.

Sorry, didn't see this before I skied yesterday and today I didn't take my camera out. The park is over in an area I don't get to much, mostly because the park's there and not much else. But, I promise I'll ride the chair that goes above it at some point and take pics of each structure for you.

It's still rural. I live a mile from my mail box, and the last half mile is dirt. As far as I know, you may be overstating the number of taxis. There are a lot of new homes but it's not looking like Kalispell.

Above translated... They never run that chair. It is covered with rime, the same as the trees are. Rime occurs when superchilled water vapor has no pollution, dust, etc. to make it precipitate out of the air into snow. So, when the vapor crashes into something -- trees, chairlifts, skiers, it instantly freezes on it.

If any of you PA racers remember a guy at Elk with a HUGE voice always yelling "COURSE!!!!" when the next racer came, he was at our races about 10 days ago, helping out. He was here on vacation for a month, had a pass, and was helping at the races for the J1's and 2's. I notice he managed to rack up over 200000 vertical feet on the Big Vertical Tracker while he was here. Name of Wolfgang. His wife was my gatekeeping partner for two days. As soon as I heard him, I made the connection.

Siblet looked into the "club" team where she is, but all they talked about was parties and drinking at the meetings, so she decided it wasn't for her. She wanted to race. So she is still trying to race for the mountain, even though she is six hours from here.
