I'm not talking about broken bones, I am talking about some pervert seeing him there helpless and snatching him.
-
You know, as a mom, I have to say it's great that he's having fun, but this COULD have ended up bad. It's funny now, but what if something bad had happened to him? Those kids have NO conception of consequences and your son should stay away from them.

Siblet's choice after comparing them all is the Volkls again. She said the guys seemed to prefer the Elans.
-
Siblet was working on demo'ing slalom models as she's not quite happy with the Volkls she has. She'd heard the new Volkls were better. She tried Rossis, Elans, Volkls, Salomons and wanted to try the Fischers but that was the day of the rain and she couldn't get back to them before she left. I THINK she liked the Volkls and Rossis the best, but I'll have to check that with her when I see her later today. (It takes them two days to get back because they spend the last day training and leave after that.)

Oh, and the various camps come in around $1000 or so, mostly upwards from that. Many of them are listed at Academies and Summer Camps (bottom of page). By the way, the Red Lodge camp listed is not happening as far as I know, as the Beartooth Highway is out. They reopened Red Lodge Resort, but that was only for one week.

Well, last year it was worth it, but the conditions this year are another thing. Siblet comes home today. The camp was shortened a day or two this year because of the need for Palmer to fit in more camps sooner. Then they lost an entire day due to pouring rain and she said the snow was so soft most of the time that she really couldn't tell the difference between demo skis she was trying. (Although she hated the Elans -- too heavy.) She says she feels stronger, but from a ski perspective, it's unclear if she resolved any of her issues. Come December, she is off for 3.5 weeks and we hope to get her on the hill everyday training with the FIS kids again. That should help a lot. She may also get in a race during that time, depending on race schedules. I have WAY more hope for that training as it's intense right in time for the start of the season.
-
She starts college, remember? I've looked at the points of the kids who start on the team there and from what I've seen, they are spending most of the freshman year resting on their OLD point history.
-
I don't think so. She started racing a bit late. Maybe her kid will make it, though. She'll know what she is doing in terms of getting her progeny involved in ski racing. We didn't know much and so she's kind of missed the boat.
-
The privacy thing IS at the kid's request. She'd FREAK OUT if her name was being posted around. Also, this picture is not all that great. A better one is at: Better pic

That was a FIS tech race in Park City, but her name is private. Sorry.

My kid.

This board started out as a "free speech" outgrowth of the Camelback board, mostly the "troublemakers" from that board. But, it's grown to 274 members since then, winning most of the grownups from that board, and added in all of these people from other ski areas. Stats are on the main page at the bottom.

Good grief, if you're out in Happy Valley, wouldn't you use Blue Knob instead? I think there used to be another hill called Black Moshannon or something like that. Is it still there?
-
Maybe Sam sold CB so he can buy Montage.
-
So, "owned" is catching someone being inconsistent or hypocritical?
-
Hold on there. The only one we know is sold is CB. Blue as near as I can tell, was just a rumor.
-
And, um, what does "owned" mean?

I've never found kicking my bindings to work as well as wacking the boot on the side with my pole. But then, I've got cheap poles....

i was talking more about that one weekend, the only schools in the tri state are, let alone the east coast that had off were in NY. meaning everyone else that comes from MD, VA, DC, and NJ had to pay holiday prices too. 27725[/snapback] Since I don't know which weekend you're talking about it's hard for me to answer, but I assume you are including colleges, private schools, etc. etc.

True, after all, the lifts here are only open 9 to 4. Plus I minimize my breaks, i.e. one half hour for lunch. That's why my vertical per day is high and my mountain time doesn't equal 12 hours. But, if wear is somehow correlated to ODOR, then my boots should "rank" right up there. Yikes! I've never worn out a lining, I don't know why. The last pair I cracked one of the straps and couldn't replace it. This pair the lining is packed down, but I just keep adding stuff under the foot and it makes up the space. Other than the heel, which I know how to fix, I haven't seen any issues. Maybe some brands hold up better.
-
Well, she's been growing up until recently, so who knows. BUT, the last pair of boots was smaller than the previous pair, so if she grows some more, we're covered.
-
Because I bet that less than half of the business is PA. You have TWO other states skiing there with a big representation, NY and NJ. The closest major population centers in Pa to CB would be Scranton and Philly. For both of those two cities, there are closer resorts than CB, so the numbers from NJ and NY probably add up to more than the numbers from PA. Heck, there are people skiing there from MD and VA and DC every weekend as well! CB can tell from its numbers what the big weekends will be without consulting the various school boards.

Also, I've found that if you have a "Raichle foot" or a "Nordica foot", you probably need to stick with that brand. I have a Raichle foot. Guess what, they don't make boots anymore. I went to Salomon and after hours and hours of shop tryons, found that I couldn't really stand in them all day (arch too high) without on-mountain modifications. It was almost the whole season before I got them right. I own tons of things to stick in your boots at this point.
-
Wow, how much room is there behind your foot when you take out the lining? 100 days is NOTHING. The last pair of boots I got lasted more like 500 days (maybe 14 years). (Just guessing). This pair has got to be at close to that (10 years and another 500 days) and still going strong. When my boots got compacted, all I added was a custom footbed and it was like I got a new boot. I have to admit I am now looking at an additional foot bed with a heel stabilizer, but that's about it. I HATE GETTING NEW BOOTS, it's such a crapshoot.
