  1. I have been stopped a TOTAL of four times by a ranger. Once was by a ranger who wanted to give Siblet a poster for skiing so nice. And three times for help in filling out accident reports. THAT WAS IT over 27 years of skiing at CB. There's one guy I always think of as a turd for almost running over toddler Siblet on Bactrian as he tucked it in a race with another ranger, but I found as long as I was clearly in control and not endangering others, the actual speed didn't matter.
  2. I don't remember this being restricted to passholders. Anyone who got there at 7:30 got on the lift. When they shifted the AM ticket to a later set of hours, it also destroyed the lunch lull when AM tickets were no good and PM tickets hadn't started yet, but all day ticketholders who could control their lunch cravings had a window of short lines for a while.
  3. Haven't checked the math lately, but usually around 13 days or do as I recall. Here it is only 9-10 days.
  4. Now THERE's an idea: Open up two weeks early for premium passholders PLUS 6 AM access to Sully lift. Now that might be worth the extra bucks!
  5. By the way, where did you find this info? I didn't see it on their message board.
  6. I HATE the idea of there being premium passes, although the earlier lift opening would be nice for ALL passholders. They have some premium passes here, the main benefit being that it is transferable. Here the premium people get special lockers and special parking, but frankly, if I get my butt out of bed, I can get a better spot and they have to climb over me to get to their "special locker room" which requires them to have not only the combo to their locker but to have the code to get into the room.
  7. Does anyone recognize these areas?

    Why is he banned?
  9. You said: Now you are saying they were all with him every minute.
  10. Siblet said the reps were jerks this year. It was so crowded they were just pushing whatever wasn't being used on people. Wanted one of the top FIS girls to demo some junior skis, same with some kid who was 6 foot 4. They didn't have the skis to cover the demand and were just acting like any ski would do.
  11. I'm not talking about broken bones, I am talking about some pervert seeing him there helpless and snatching him.
  12. You know, as a mom, I have to say it's great that he's having fun, but this COULD have ended up bad. It's funny now, but what if something bad had happened to him? Those kids have NO conception of consequences and your son should stay away from them.
  13. Siblet's choice after comparing them all is the Volkls again. She said the guys seemed to prefer the Elans.
  14. Siblet was working on demo'ing slalom models as she's not quite happy with the Volkls she has. She'd heard the new Volkls were better. She tried Rossis, Elans, Volkls, Salomons and wanted to try the Fischers but that was the day of the rain and she couldn't get back to them before she left. I THINK she liked the Volkls and Rossis the best, but I'll have to check that with her when I see her later today. (It takes them two days to get back because they spend the last day training and leave after that.)
  15. Oh, and the various camps come in around $1000 or so, mostly upwards from that. Many of them are listed at Academies and Summer Camps (bottom of page). By the way, the Red Lodge camp listed is not happening as far as I know, as the Beartooth Highway is out. They reopened Red Lodge Resort, but that was only for one week.
  16. Well, last year it was worth it, but the conditions this year are another thing. Siblet comes home today. The camp was shortened a day or two this year because of the need for Palmer to fit in more camps sooner. Then they lost an entire day due to pouring rain and she said the snow was so soft most of the time that she really couldn't tell the difference between demo skis she was trying. (Although she hated the Elans -- too heavy.) She says she feels stronger, but from a ski perspective, it's unclear if she resolved any of her issues. Come December, she is off for 3.5 weeks and we hope to get her on the hill everyday training with the FIS kids again. That should help a lot. She may also get in a race during that time, depending on race schedules. I have WAY more hope for that training as it's intense right in time for the start of the season.
  17. She starts college, remember? I've looked at the points of the kids who start on the team there and from what I've seen, they are spending most of the freshman year resting on their OLD point history.
  18. I don't think so. She started racing a bit late. Maybe her kid will make it, though. She'll know what she is doing in terms of getting her progeny involved in ski racing. We didn't know much and so she's kind of missed the boat.
  19. The privacy thing IS at the kid's request. She'd FREAK OUT if her name was being posted around. Also, this picture is not all that great. A better one is at: Better pic
  20. That was a FIS tech race in Park City, but her name is private. Sorry.

    Thx

This board started out as a "free speech" outgrowth of the Camelback board, mostly the "troublemakers" from that board. But, it's grown to 274 members since then, winning most of the grownups from that board, and added in all of these people from other ski areas. Stats are on the main page at the bottom.
  22. Good grief, if you're out in Happy Valley, wouldn't you use Blue Knob instead? I think there used to be another hill called Black Moshannon or something like that. Is it still there?
  23. Maybe Sam sold CB so he can buy Montage.
