  1. Maybe Sam sold CB so he can buy Montage.
  2. So, "owned" is catching someone being inconsistent or hypocritical?

    CB Sold

Hold on there. The only one we know is sold is CB. Blue as near as I can tell, was just a rumor.
  4. And, um, what does "owned" mean?
  5. I've never found kicking my bindings to work as well as wacking the boot on the side with my pole. But then, I've got cheap poles....

i was talking more about that one weekend, the only schools in the tri state are, let alone the east coast that had off were in NY. meaning everyone else that comes from MD, VA, DC, and NJ had to pay holiday prices too. 27725[/snapback] Since I don't know which weekend you're talking about it's hard for me to answer, but I assume you are including colleges, private schools, etc. etc.
  7. True, after all, the lifts here are only open 9 to 4. Plus I minimize my breaks, i.e. one half hour for lunch. That's why my vertical per day is high and my mountain time doesn't equal 12 hours. But, if wear is somehow correlated to ODOR, then my boots should "rank" right up there. Yikes! I've never worn out a lining, I don't know why. The last pair I cracked one of the straps and couldn't replace it. This pair the lining is packed down, but I just keep adding stuff under the foot and it makes up the space. Other than the heel, which I know how to fix, I haven't seen any issues. Maybe some brands hold up better.
  8. Well, she's been growing up until recently, so who knows. BUT, the last pair of boots was smaller than the previous pair, so if she grows some more, we're covered.

Because I bet that less than half of the business is PA. You have TWO other states skiing there with a big representation, NY and NJ. The closest major population centers in Pa to CB would be Scranton and Philly. For both of those two cities, there are closer resorts than CB, so the numbers from NJ and NY probably add up to more than the numbers from PA. Heck, there are people skiing there from MD and VA and DC every weekend as well! CB can tell from its numbers what the big weekends will be without consulting the various school boards.
  10. Also, I've found that if you have a "Raichle foot" or a "Nordica foot", you probably need to stick with that brand. I have a Raichle foot. Guess what, they don't make boots anymore. I went to Salomon and after hours and hours of shop tryons, found that I couldn't really stand in them all day (arch too high) without on-mountain modifications. It was almost the whole season before I got them right. I own tons of things to stick in your boots at this point.
  11. Wow, how much room is there behind your foot when you take out the lining? 100 days is NOTHING. The last pair of boots I got lasted more like 500 days (maybe 14 years). (Just guessing). This pair has got to be at close to that (10 years and another 500 days) and still going strong. When my boots got compacted, all I added was a custom footbed and it was like I got a new boot. I have to admit I am now looking at an additional foot bed with a heel stabilizer, but that's about it. I HATE GETTING NEW BOOTS, it's such a crapshoot.

I thought CB owned the Northridge land, leased the ski area land. I can't imagine that Northridge is rented.

Well, if they charged another grand a season, maybe they'd get some great coaches and be able to develop the program more.

Just checked. It was Kulis. And the press room only gives the "assistant director", Dave Johnson, as a contact.
  15. Uh, you forget I'm only making $9 an hour these days...

I believe that was Dave K. But remember, that segment was probably filmed months ago.

  19. I used to ski in the rain quite a bit at CB. Unfortunately, although I used "all conditions" Goretex, I found that the main point of system failure was my gloves. I've even tried Playtex dishwashing gloves, but couldn't get them big enough to put Polartec liners under them. The result was either my hands were freezing due to no insulation or my hands were freezing due to wetness. On top of that, I always got water creeping UP my arms from the cuffs of my jacket. If you put the cuff of the glove OUTSIDE the jacket, the water ran into the glove. If you put them INSIDE the jacket, then it would dribble in each time you raised your arm a bit. So, the solution was to pack a lot of normal winter Polartec gloves and keep changing them AND to make sure that the Goretex cuff of the jacket was snugged against my skin, with no underlayers in the cuff area. Then, of course, you are left with it coming down your neck..... Face it, you won't get in a whole day of skiing and still be dry.
  20. I wouldn't trust much I got from a message board.

I sure hope whatever the southern Rockies got this year lands in my northern Rockies next year! It's not fair!
  22. Ha, maybe it's like a stamp...the graphics are wrong, so it's a "collector's item"!!!
  23. Does the ski say "junior"? I am thinking since it's not on their website, it's an older or discontinued ski. What color is the "Fischer"? I noticed that the prior year model had it in white, this year's was in yellow. Then, for some reason, this one for 2003 has black letters:
  24. I can't answer whether it's right or not. What does your SKI say? Also, did anyone actually check your radius in the gate? I bet they didn't. Siblet skied an "illegal" GS ski in the FIS race at Park City. No one stopped her. Maybe if she was in the top 3 they would have, I don't know.
