Yeah, you. They will have to buy more gates and that will be in next year's race fee.

I am guessing that the soot mixed in with the P-tex will not perform as well as clean P-tex. Soot isn't just dye. Why would you not have time to do the job right?

It used to be on the right side of 33 coming up from Allentown.

Gosh, they had that billboard about three years back and I remember mocking it on their board, particularly because that season we had a lot of mud. I can't believe they went back to that.

Well, winter is back. We only got about an inch at our house, but I think there's about 8 inches of fresh powder on the mountain. Now, if we could just get 8 inches more.....

I am pretty sure that, although that old ski area is east of CB somewhere, that the area to the east of upper Nile is state land. We've hiked there in the summer. I think the old ski area is quite a bit down the hill from Nile, possibly just above and to the west of that condo neighborhood.

Sounds like dogsledding with the dogs sitting on the sled!

Don't get me wrong. We've got plenty of lovely soft snow and expecting about six inches this weekend. But, it's like spring -- get out the sunscreen -- and we follow the sun around as it warms up the hill. I rode up with two different people today from Seattle who had nowhere else to go to other than our mountain. Now that's a drive!

They are not miles and miles off the interstate. They have a pretty good variety of trails. They have great grooming and manage their snow well. You can always find a lift with a short line if you look. Even at 2 PM there are runs that are not a straight sheet of ice (although Birches and Honeymoon are SO BAD by then they should be re-rated as blacks.) They have a great deck and plenty of choices about where to eat. (The Glen Lodge is GREAT!) They have really smoke-free eating areas (unlike Blue the last time I was there...the smoke is unavoidable!) There are plenty of ladies rooms without lines if you know where to go.

? What happened?

It looks like temps will be dropping a bit over the weekend, and maybe we'll get a few inches of snow, but we need a foot! Thank god are trails are relatively rock free in summer time, unlike many of the places in CO. If an area makes sure it's got nice meadows, they don't need the snow depth compared to areas that leave boulders all over the place when they cut a trail.

As you may or may not be aware, the Northwest has been having a heat wave the last few weeks. We have serious spring conditions, so much so that the NorAms were cancelled. Ole2planker is lucky he got here when he did. He must have taken our cold weather back east with him when he left. Schweitzer, which some would consider our "twin" mountain, has had closure issues (note that, skimom) and is supposed to only be about 10% open. We are advertising that we are 90% open, but I think they must be counting "named trails", because as acreage goes, I'd say it's more like 60%. Fortunately we got a bit of snow a couple days ago, but if it hasn't been groomed, it's just dust on crust. Big Sky, if you remember, was full of rocks. Red Lodge was only 50% open. Most of the ski areas in Washington are said to be closed. I think the way things are going that some of the more marginal areas will be taking it on the chin and unable to open next year...you can't afford to lose an entire January in the ski industry! I hear they've had snow down in Colorado, but I don't know how the extended time has been going. Just make sure if you are planning trips out West, that you check what's been going on this year!

Too bad they're teaching stuff that's ten years out of date.

There are other ligaments that you work on strengthening to compensate.

Just wondering if you got a second opinion. I thought surgery on ACL's was going out of style. At least two people I know said it didn't do a bit of good. Mr. Husky has two torn ACL's and can ski, although he doesn't do it much. I would think a brace would help with the racing part. Skimom, what do your medical contacts say these days about ACL repair?

I am wondering about how Hunter compares to CB in regard to employee attitude? They both get lots of NY'ers. Maybe the NY attitude is what produces the CB attitude.

Aside from a neighbor, my only interaction with cops has been about bad news....my dogs barked too much for some old lady, several instances where people trashed my car in a parking lot, and two speeding stops. They never did anything good for me. But, I accept that they have a purpose. I've never had an issue with a CB ranger, but I am not stupid. When I was flying down Nile Mile and saw a yellow jacket, I made sure that my turns were BEAUTIFUL and in control even if I didn't slow down a whit.

All I can say is I'm glad I am here now where the slopes are so empty, there is no need for police....This seems to include most of the highways, too!

They just hate men, obviously. I skied there 27 years and was only pulled over ONCE. I was all ready to blast the guy and it turned out he wanted to give the Siblet a reward for skiing so nice. We got a coupon to go in and get a poster. She was about five or six at the time. That being said, there is one Italian-looking one I hate because he almost hit Siblet once because he was going so fast himself on Bactrian. She was still little and Pharoah didn't exist yet.

Okay, I guess it changed at some point. That's good.

It may depend on how many days at full price there have been. They will total all of them up and subtract that from the pass price. So (without checking your prices) if the pass price was $450 and a pass is $45 a day, then once ten days is gone, you're done.

Well, there is a section of PA that gets all the "lake effect" stuff. I think they may be a bit easterly for that, but maybe not. Maybe you should visit sometime.
