Yes, I know both of them and I knew a bunch of that gang stayed down there.

June as in Shelley's friend? If so, tell her I said Hi.

The reason it was called Hell Half Acre was because of all the idiots not paying attention to the skiers' responsibility code and having collisions with each other, not because of any special terrain dispensation. They ended up with too many injuries. This was right where Big Pocono used to join Honeymoon and people would come hotdogging down Big Poke right onto the green trail without looking uphill, etc.

All I want to know is does it have a foot rest? I loved Alta except for the lifts. Everything else was perfect, especially the relaxed low key ambiance. No piped-in rap music, no glitz, just people who wanted to ski in perfect powder in a PEACEFUL setting. Wonderful. Being right next to Snowbird, the mirror opposite, made it even more apparent how much skiing has changed over the years.

Texas? Where in Texas has snow?

That's a pic of Bode Miller, NOT ski999!

As soon as I saw it, I knew they would delete it. And really, you shouldn't bad mouth them quite so publicly and then in the same post tout this board as it makes it look like this board is dissing them. You don't want to make problems for our board here.

Pictures from October 18th at 7:15 AM (it's starting to get light late here): Back deck: Two of the front of the house: Trees by the wood pile:

What nasty remark? I was just trying to analyze where the "cisco" and "1980" came from. Hit a nerve? If so, it was entirely by accident.

The roof view is from siblet's room.

We have a large dog yard for all the huskies to play in.

The Kenmore grill is a hand-me-down from my brother's move to Scotland years ago. Which makes it about 28 years old and still working. Not bad for a free grill.

First dusting arrived last night. Not a lot of snow, but definitely snow:

It looks like I may have some snow pictures to put up in the next week. It's supposed to precipitate every day for the next week. Rain during the day and snow at night. As soon as I have visible snow on the lawn, I will post it.

Oh, forgot to mention, if you come at a different time, bring your season pass from whereever you normally ski and present it, it's good for discounted tickets here.
-
For the same reason you stayed "ski999" to those of us who knew you even when you were trying to be cisco1980 -- year of your divorce maybe?
-
Actually, it was in Glacier, just like skimom, that I saw it first. Then I posted a webcam link of snow at the summit of the ski area, but that has since melted.

You ought to come during the NorAms, Feb 9 to 16. Not only is it thrilling, but gatekeepers get a ticket for the day and one to use within a year. You could essentially ski all week for free by gatekeeping every other day.

Sixteen minutes in summer. Twenty, more or less, in winter. Depends on the amount of snow on the road.

Mr. Husky works out of the house. He's an SAP (complicated system that big corporations use to run their operations) expert. He just rolls out of bed in his PJ's and logs on to the computer. I needed some money for myself, tho, and am working part time in a store downtown.

I did work for a while out in Allentown, but back then it was AT&T Microelectronics. We were out on in an industrial park by the airport. I had a great corner office that overlooked the airport runway and if I'd ever had the time to enjoy it, I could have watched the planes taking off and landing all day. I lived in NJ, tho, and as soon as I could blackmail them enough, I demanded to move back to NJ as the commute was too long. Siblet was an infant and it was too far away for a mom to be.

I did not receive my stickers.....

Sure you did, it was in the armoire the TV was on. (The benefits of the siblet working at that place are all these little tidbits of information.)

Let's see...two complete rain outfits for anyone not properly dressed in case of a downpour, a roll of TP and extra bags to "pack it out", pepper spray, knit hat and gloves in case of snow (I just keep this stuff in the pack in case I'm further from home on a hike), digital camera, sweater, Camelbak, Atkins meal bar, matches, space blanket, sunglasses, visor, spare dry sox, can't remember what else. Basically, the backpack is ready for whatever comes up whether I am hiking locally or in Glacier. I am sure I am missing some things that I just haven't learned I need yet. Pepper spray. Hope I NEVER have to use it. Only good if the bear is almost on you or IS on you. You need to worry about the direction of the wind as well! But two guys have saved their own lives this year using it as the bear was mauling them. Our local mountain IS grizzly territory.
