I agree, I would have liked to see some different rails out instead of just moving the same ones around. Wouldn't be surprised if they close the 17th. They started advertising the snowmobile race for the 22nd. Plus crowds are already way down and the warm weather the next few days will keep even more people away.

Cascade is completely different. There a few different rails in BB, 3 jumps instead of 2. Brand new jumps in the tubing line.

The park setup has been changed at least 2 or 3 times since the big air contest. It is the best it has been all seson right now.

Fun weekend at BC. Airbag was pretty cool. However, they blew snow on BB on Sat night / Sunday morning and didn't groom...basically making the park features impossible to ride. Cascade was nice though.

Yesterday morning was probably the best BC has been setup in a long time. BB rode great in the morning, as it warmed up speed became a little bit of an issue for the second jump but everything else was super nice. Cascade setup was awesome with a bunch of fun lines and tubing jumps were a lot of fun. There were a lot of people there but for the first time in a long time they were seeming to stay out of the parks.

Only got to ride for a little bit yesterday but both parks are awesome right now. Good snow with lots of big features in BB and fun lines in Cascade. Can't wait to get back up there tomorrow.

Most other mountains would love to charge what Vail charges.
-
Vail's ticket prices are inflated to attract a certain type of clientele, and it works for them. The mountain is awesome though.

Same here. Anything after 11:00-11:30 on a weekend isn't worth it. Make the A Lift a park only lift on weekends that requires a park pass and fence it off to only allow access to Cascade and the tubing line. At least this way 1 park would be able to be ridden all day on a weekend and the gapers could still crash into each other on BB.

I agree it isn't the best solution, but at least it is something. The park was down right dangerous 2 weekends ago. I talked to a patroller and he looked at me like I had two heads when I said they need to patrol the park and keep people who obviously ignore park etiquette and simply do not belong in there out. I sent another e-mail about park passes but I doubt that will ever happen. IMO, BC needs to move the park over to the other side of the mountain. It gets so much gaper traffic because it is right off the main lift. Put it over on Timberline and you could cut that in half.

The fence doesn't make anyone go off the jump, it just keeps people from blindly coming into the landing. Is it annoying, sure. But after the shit show of people cutting in on jumps and landings the past few weekends it makes some sense.

Yeah it was getting sketchy yesterday around noon with a lot of people in the park that shouldn't have been. Even saw two groups of lessons just snaking their way down BB despite Cascade being completely open and free of crowds. Looks like they put down a good amount of snow last night and they should be able to blow a lot this week which should fix all the thin spots.

Best session of the season this morning. Nice park setup with the new rails and jumps. Top jump was nice, bottom one needs a lip but is a nice size. Really fun setup. Snow was great early but start to wear thin before the first jump.

Nope cliff is gone. It was a good idea that was poorly executed. I was only good a handful of days. Most of the time it was just a drop to hard pack. The mailbox and picnic table setup off of it was great when they had it setup.

They should have almost the entire mountain open for the weekend.

Despite the lack of snow last night was great. Snow was soft, park is setup really fun. But they lost a lot of snow and it was pretty empty yesterday. Looks like favorable weather starting Thursday so they should be able to restore some of what was lost for the weekend. Good thing this was a sort warm snap.

Wasn't bad when I was up there this morning. Looked like most of the thin spots where off to the sides so it shouldn't be that big of an issue for them. I could see them closing Cascade though because the top of the run is thin where everyone stops. No idea what the other side of the mountain looks like though.

I didn't, but I can see how people do get stuck in there. Its very easy to end up in a flat or uphill in all directions area in deep snow over there.

A lot of people get stuck in the woods between Juggernaut and Blue Heaven at Killington. The woods off to skiers right on Blue Heaven look great but once you drop into them it gets pretty flat in there and it is usually pretty deep as well. It leads down to valley and it uphill in every direction to get out. It is a pain in the ass to get out of there.
