The snow making window didn't start until around 5 this morning. Temps stayed in the low 30s and the humidity was almost 80% before that...that isn't marginal, that is bad.

And it is usually a shit show there until they get more than Freedom open. Plus a lot of non park riders tend to stay away from BB unlike BC. Then factor in the hotel crowds and BC would be a mess with just 1 or 2 trails open.

The weather info is straight from BC Marc, it just didn't get as cold as predicted. Hopefully tonight is a different story. The have quite a few portables around but they also have very good coverage from the pole guns. The system works very well when the weather cooperates. In previous years all it took was 2-3 days of blowing to get 90% open with good coverage. BC really isn't big enough to do the open with 1 or 2 trails thing. It would be a shit show.

The weather wasn't there last night. It barely got down to 32 with a wet bulb of 29 and that was only for a very small window. This really isn't that difficult, trying to blow snow last night would have been a complete waste of money. And BC already took a stab at blowing snow, twice so far I believe.

Yep, last night would have been nice but was really just wishful thinking. Tonight, tomorrow night, and Friday looks promising. Weekend is kind of meh though.

The window for blowing any snow last night was tiny. Most if not all would have melted off with the temps and sun today. Tonight and tomorrow night and possibly friday look much more favorable.

According to their facebook page BC is planning on blowing tonight, tomorrow, and thursday...weather permitting.

Yep, I have a bunch of vacation days to burn before the end of the year so it would be pretty nice if they were able to get open for next week before the holiday rush.

They are very similar in what they offer, except 7 Springs offers more variety. There are like 7 or 8 different places to eat and drink there instead of 3 like at BC. It is definitely a fun place to go when the snow is good, especially if you like riding park. But you are right it is hard to head that way and VT is only a bit longer of a ride.

Yeah only a couple of days next week look OK for blowing. The long term shows the following week (16th-22nd) as being pretty good, but that is to far out to be reliable.

Cool, the regular rooms are also really nice. Last time I stayed in one it was something like $825 or $850 a night for the loft room. Divide that by 8 and its not bad at all. I think they let you have up to 12 people in the loft rooms. And yeah, it turns into a party pretty quickly with that many people lol.

The loft suites are great if you get a bunch of people together. I've done that a few times with a group of like 8 people or so. 3 private bedrooms, a loft and a living room area.

Even in spots where the base was thicker it was melting from underneath and caving in. They might have gotten another couple of days or a week, but at that time it was like 70 degrees out and rained for like week straight and no one was going to the mountain anyway.

And? Its still a free $30+ perk from BC. For those of us with girlfriends, wives, or friends its a good deal.
