Good session this morning. Rode open till about noon. Conditions and setup are great right now. Hopefully the warm weather this coming week doesn't cause to much of a melt down.
-
Setup is pretty sweet. Top jump in cascade is really smooth. Stair jump is fun. Low spin rail has a bunch of options and its really smooth. BB is nice as well. Snow was surprisingly good with the rain from the other day. Little hard but not icy. Park crew was out and about keeping everything in good shape.
-
So sad. As a snowboarder I always repected what she did for the her sport. She will be missed by lots of people.
-
The rail / spine setup looks sweet on the cam.

Setup sounds pretty sweet from the FB post. Can't wait to check it out this afternoon.

Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas are very good and they both offer entry level and professional options. You can go with Premiere Elements ($79) or or Vegas Movie Studio ($50) for entry level editing. Or move ito the more pro level editoring packages but they are more expensive. You can download and try almost all of the different version for free to see if you like them. http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere-elements.html http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegassoftware Another option would be Lightworks. It is an open source editor. It is a free tool that is very powerful, fully featured, and its easy to use. It has been used to edit many feature films (The Kings Speech, Don't be Afraid of the Dark, etc...). http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ Depending on what I'm doing I either use Vegas Pro 11 or Lightworks.

I fully agree, I'm talking about pulling passes for blatently dangerous stuff or for people being repeatedly told not to do something. Not calling your drop or snaking lines sucks but you shouldn't get you pass pulled for that.
-
Not sure, that is what I was told a couple years ago when I sent an e-mail to BC asking about park passes afer I broke my wrist avoiding someone who blindly cut onto a landing. They said it had a lower uphill capacity than B lift.
-
Nope. I have short hair, no beard, and haven't been to Barnaby's more than a handful of times.
-
A lift is usually only running when its crowded and doesn't have the uphill capacity to handle all the park rats like B lift does. Running that lift all the time just wouldn't be cost effective at all. Also splitting Kodiak in half at the top would require more than just trees because of the side hill grading near the top. Simply enforcing park rules is the best solution. Get caught doing something stupid in the park and your pass get pulled. Problem solved.
-
Yes, too many people ride park at BC for the length of the run to do a gated enterence with park passes. If they did a gated enterence like some mountains do the wait to drop would be way too long and would turn people off. Especially on weekends or holidays. The only viable solution is partolling the park and pulling passes. But the vast majority of mountains, including BC, don't seem to do that until there is an incident...which at that point it is to late. Plus if a ski patroller pulled a racers ticket for bombing the park you would probably flip your shit.
-
What the hell are you blabbing about. A race course is a trail, 10 kids could train up and bomb it, sit on blind head walls, etc... But there are rules that they follow that say not to. It isn't to much to ask for the same in the park which has rules clearly marked. If you aren't going to follow the rules then don't complain about getting called out in either a nice or not so nice way. To many people ride park at BC to do park passes or a gated and patrolled enterence so that isn't an option. On a much better note, nice to hear about a cascade build definitely looking forward to it. That whale back was fun but a nice rail line or small jump line would be awesome.
-
Give me a break. The same rules they should be being taught about racing apply to the park and just skiing / riding in general. You don't see them dropping in on each others gate runs or cutting in and blasting through the course 10 at time while others are waiting. How do most people learn park rules? They read the sign at the top of the park...they are spelled out clear as day. I have no problem being nice and explaining rules to people who might not understand them. I take issue with people who blatently ignore them. And don't give me the kinds don't know the rules argument. The kids had enough park experience to hit most of the features they know the rules and ignore them and create dangerous situations for everyone...fuck em.
-
The kids obviously know the rules of the mountain and the park and time and time again would simply ignore them while bombing or running train lines through the park. I don't care if you are an adult or a kid, when you intentionally cause a dangerous situation on the mountain I'll call you out as being an asshole. And I've never poached a race run in my life.
-
Gapers don't know any better. Racers were just being assholes.
-
Same here. I've been up to BC almost everyday and still enjoy the setup.
-
It takes more snow than you think to move stuff around. I'd rather they continue to build a base and then do a complete rebuild later when they have more snow.
-
Snowing pretty hard on the web cam right now!
-
This weekend is looking good temp wise for blowing so hopefully they can recover most of the snow they lost from this rain.

Yesterday was fun but when the sun went down things got a bit icy. Decent amount of people there but not to crowded.
-
Nope sorry, their snow is the worst in the area.
-
Whistler had some rails set up like that last year when I was there. Its is kind of fun because it gives you the option to ollie on or use the lip. Personally I dont care how they are setup because just about any setup can be fun.
-
Maybe that is why the snow at Blue sucks.
-
Yesterday was a ton of fun. Snow was nice and fast with no ice. Good number of people out but short lift lines.
