  1. Snowboarder was stupid, but looks like he lost an edge trying to snow the skier and didn't intentionally try and take him out.
  2. Yeah a few jumps or maybe a cannon box rail or something like that would definitely be fun. Years ago they had a 1/4 pipe at the bottom which was awesome.
  3. Are those GSS's new boots?
  4. Rode open till 2 yesterday. Snow was great. 2 jumps and big hip on BB are awesome and flow perfectly. Bottom of BB was fun with the small hip and plenty options from the rail jam. The pole jam to flat down bar was super smooth. Top jump in Cascade was really good but the 5 jump line on the side needs a bit of work but the rail options were hitting nice. The tank to big box was crazy sticky in the morning but got better as the day went on. Crowds weren't bad at all which was nice.
  5. I'm the least picky snowboarder, I'll have fun riding anything. And off course I did cool tricks....its what I do.
  6. Oh yeah I definitely expected the conditions to be what they were given the temps and wind...I was actually expecting them to be worse.
  7. It was probably great during the day, I was there from 7 till close. Sketchy was probably a bit of an overstatement. Crusty hard snow and icy, scraped off landings on some features. Good snow for just riding or going fast. Still had fun and this is by far one of the best setups BC has had in a long time though. Should be great this weekend.
  8. Setup right now is great. The snow on the other hand last night was sketchy at best.
  9. I give this reply 2 chins out of 5.
  10. It sucks having a life outside of the internet.
  11. Yes, but I was there yesterday. I park at the top for the bar.
  12. Got up to Blue at opening to find they were having an issue with the plumbing in the Summit lodge. At first it didn't seem bad until the smell started. By 11 you could smell shit inside and outside. Slopeside bar and basically everything on the main level was closed. Upstairs was open. Other than the shit it was a fun day. Snow was good with a little bit of fresh, crowds were light. Park was fun but the wind and slow snow basically ruled out the 3rd jump in the jump line. 1st two were hitting well though. 6 pack was stopping pretty often but never for more than a minute or two. The ticket scanners had a mind of their own basically only working every other run.
  13. You should have seen the crowd of them at the Grille last Thursday night. Groupon must have had a deal on baby sitters because the milfs were out in full force.
  14. Snow was great yesterday and the setup was hitting really well all morning.
  15. Setup is pretty fun right now. The jump on cascade was hitting really well with a nice selection of rail / boxes after. The propane tank between Cascade and BB was pretty sketchy though. BB jumps are much better than before and pretty much all the rail setups were on point.
  16. Things I like better about WB than JH is just the sheer size of the place. It doesn't get tracked out nearly as quickly and crowds even on powder days are manageable because it is so spread out. Terrain variety is similar but WB just has a lot more of it. Top to bottom runs off of Peak chair on good weather days are unbeatable and stupid long...you can basically ride double black / black runs all the way down to Creekside. The apres is better in WB, its hard to not have a good time at any price point in the village...plus with the work exchange the amount of imported Aussie girls is mind blowing. And with the current USD -> CAD exchange rate it can also be noticeable cheaper to go to WB. Things that are worse about WB...getting there. If all goes well it isn't bad but it is a long flight(s), you have to deal with customs, and then a solid 2 hour drive if the weather is good. Once there the weather can be annoying at times depending on the freezing level. You'll get sun, snow, blinding fog, and rain all in one run. So it can cut the mountain in half as far as good conditions go. They can be slow to open the alpine on some days as well. Edit: This will show you how big WB. http://media.intrawest.com/whistler/flash/trailmap/compare_acre.swf?width=740&height=510%22%20rel=%22prettyPhoto%22
  17. Feb 28th - Mar 11th. In my experience mid Feb - mid March are the best times to go as far as snowfall. I've never had bad snow in all the times I have been there and a few times we have gotten absolutely hammered with no stop snow.
  18. Not perfect, just smart. My airfare to Whistler and rental car this year are free because of reward points. It is stupid to not take advantage of stuff like this.
  19. With all the benefits and rewards credit cards offer paying with cash is basically giving away free money. I pay for everything possible on a credit card.
  20. Up - flat - down. Either the wide rail or big box setup high with an up gap jump to it.
  21. Damn, that blows.
  22. Drag the C box back out.
  23. Seems about right with how completely out of touch they are.
  24. It is better than standing in stupid long lift lines and dodging goobers all over the place.
  25. Blue and Camelback will be a shit show. JF will be a slightly less shitty show.
