I agree on the tables. Nice 25-30 footers with nice wide take offs are perfect.

Cool, just looking out. I ruined a $170 fish eye by letting some water dry on it. It ended up etching into the lens and sometimes the camera would zoom in on the etch mark and everything would be all blurry.
-
Nice, looks like a fun time. Little tip though, hit a camera store and grab a few lens cloths and throw them in you pocket when you ride so you can keep you lens clean and prevent the water from damaging or etching the lens.

A wedge is how rails should be setup. It gives you the option of coming in from different angles for lipslides and what not. Again it was opening weekend, they need to setup things to please the most amount of people. The ledge is going to be a sick feature. The way it was set up this weekend was good so people could get a feel for it. I agree it should be setup on a slight downward slat and with a gap on in the future. The step down was not setup straight, with a small adjustment it will be awesome.

Not really. But if a rutted landing or beat up lip on some features is enough to ruin your day of riding then you either need to work on progressing to be able to handle those things since it is very rare to get perfect features on the snow, or ride a different feature. BC puts out plenty of stuff in the park and in my 6 years of riding BC as my home mt. they have never had a day when everything in the park wasn't ridable.

The majority of riders stay away from the urban rails. Plus its the first week.

I work 8-10 hours a day and live 40 minutes away. I ride nights and weekends mostly, except for the occasional day off when I'll go up early. I usually ride 3-4 days a week if not more. I know exactly what the conditions at BC are like. What you are missing is the amount of time and effort to re-groom a trail, especially mid day. Not to mention the potential of pissed off customers. Say you bought a 4 hour pass and the parks were either closed for grooming or packed with people because one or the other was closed. You wouldn't be to happy now would you? Or say you can only ride for 2 hours and you trek up to BC only to find the parks or trails you want to ride closed? That would suck don't you think. The park crew did a great job last year and they are off to a really good start this year as well. A few ruts or icy landings are not worth the time, effort or money to break out the groomers.

Could be the high back / foward lean adjustment on his bindings causing him to be in his heel edge to much.
-
Why? Its not like BC gets so beat up that its unridable or unsafe. Closing trails for grooming in the middle of the day makes no sense.

Nice pics.

So you ok with probably BCs biggest attraction basically being shut down for a few hours in the middle of the busiest time of day? Man, I'm glad some of you guys aren't in charge.
-
Ehh, I hit it like 20 times the other night and my board looks fine.

When they close one park to groom the other park would be crazy packed with people. So say it takes 1 hour to groom a park and they groom the parks back to back. Now that is 2 hours in the middle of the day on a weekend with only 1 very crowed park open. Thats a bad idea and would piss people off.
-
Nope, but good enough were a rutted lip or landing isn't going to ruin my day.
-
No. THe park crew does a good enough job. and I don't what them closing the trails down to do any grooming.

Conditions were great for opening day. Even got some powder runs. Good rail set up. The hubba ledge is sick. Cascade was fun since it was mostly ungroomed. The cliff was actually a fun too.
-
Nope, not like that at all. Down rails, flat rails, gap on, ride on. The hubba ledge is awesome! Good first day set up.

You know how when everyone is laughing at something and you are just sitting there wondering whats so funny? This is one of those times.

I've always got my pass on openning day and never waited more then 10 mins in line.
-
Sweet now I can fine tune my 1440 double grab back flips.

Learn to ride better and then this isn't a problem.

Some of you people need to chill-lax.

Bear needs a 190 footer tow in only booter, an all snow full pipe, and a unicorn.
