  1. Depends on the weather. If its cold enough expect them to be blowing. I was up there today and the worst thing was the wind.
  2. The pipe at Blue isn't very good at all. Over vert in some parts, chunky in spots, icy in others. It not even worth the ride through. I said Blue has better jumps. BC has better rails with better setups to them. For the weather conditions BC park is fine. They have a ton of rails and boxes out and a decent kicker. And if BC keeps the park like it was last night for the comp I'd say its better then Blues outright. Once mother nature decides to remember that its winter BC park is going to be nuts with all the new gear they got.
  3. I was at Blue earlier this week and the park it ok. Nothing special. Only thing they have over BC right now is jumps because they have more snow. BC rails are better.
  4. From the web cam it looks like its be reworked. But personally I would psotpone the comp till there is more snow. I can't see it being anything other then a rail jam today
  5. And whats the condition of the other park. Just want to know if its worth ditching work to head on up this morning
  6. OK I would suggest calling befor eyou head up tomorrow if you are going. I called earlier in the day and was told it was postponed. Then I called again and was told it was on. Now my buddy called me and said he called and was told it was postponed.
  7. I don't think a highspeed is needed but maybe upgrade the double chair over cascade to a quad.
  8. I just called again and they said its still on
  9. Yep. I called before and was told the contest is postponed.
  10. Replace every instance of the word "flip" with the word "spin" in what you just posted. Both don't require a ton of skill to do, but to do them well and consistantly does.
  11. Flips most certainly require skill. Its not just hucking off the lip. And then when you start to throw in spins for rodeos, underflips, etc... it requires tons of skills and balls. If they didn't require skill everyone would do them...which they don't.
  12. You can't do flips can you
  13. I sent an email this morning explaining what happened and voiced concern about beginners and lessons being in the park. Something needs to be done, because at times it is pretty bad.
  14. I hope so. I love that thing.
  15. The last 2 years there was a really fun C-Box (had a super man logo on it). It was just a cool little feature to do some butters and slides on. Did it break or something because that would be fun to have out again.

    Bears jumps

Give them some time to get some more snow on the hill and the jumps will come.
  17. Yep I was there sunday as well. I even stopped an instructor and asked them why the were bringing a lesson of very beginner kids through the terrain park. Well she was very, very rude to me and said its where they want to go and that I can't tell her what to do.
  18. The urban rail is awesome. All the little kiddies stay away from it.
  19. If you are talking about the roller coaster rail....it pretty much sucks. Way to short to do anything decent on.
  20. Why not just have ski patrol or even the park crew patrol the park and take these people that don't follow the rules aside and explain to them or warn them about what they are doing wrong. Catch them a few times doing something wrong and your pass gets clipped. It should be no different then any other part of the mountain. A sign can be posted at the top of the parks with a list of rules. You break those rules and get caught your pass gets pulled.

    Wednesday

Post up how it is when you get back. I might be heading up for a night session.
  22. I'm all for park passes. Fence off the entire park and keep people that don't belong out. I've been riding long enough (this is my 16th season) to remember what it was like to only be able to ride in parks...that is if I was allowed on the mountain at all with my snowboard. Everything has gone 180 since then. Back then skiiers didn't want boarders on the hill with them so they sent us off to one little trail. Now skiiers want to ride the one little trail that we have...but not follow the rules. It is getting down right dangerous for everyone in the park this season. Way to many people not following simple rules. I was there 3 days ago and probably 50% of my runs I got snaked on at least 1 feature...mostly by people just strolling through the park.
  23. Wish I could be there as well, but sadly I can't. But it is an awesome idea to have a public sit down to come up with some new ideas.
  24. Exactly. I had a lesson cut down the middle of the pipe last year just as I had dropped in. If I hadn't seen them when I did it could have been bad. I hit the frontside wall and did a Mctwist and had to slam on the brakes in when I landed because there was a group of kids passing right down the middle. Also had a lesson camp out right under the top jump where you couldn't see them. My and my friends also take turns spotting that jump but not everyone does that. Again like you said I have no issues with kids or lessons but it is dangerous when they don't really know the rules riding in the park and pipe.
  25. Keep ski / board lessons out of the park / pipe. It really isn't a safe place for beginners who don't know moutain etiquette. Last year was bad with the blind landing on the big kicker at the top of the run. Lots of people would cut right onto the landing without even thinking about it.
