  1. Relief is on the way, by the end of next week you should be good to go.
  2. Oh yeah, I just remembered. I noticed a lot of garbage under the lifts at Mountain Creek. In particular there must have been a promotion of some type where a lot of stuff got tossed onto the trees by the lift. It really looks like crap and can't be good for the environment. Some corporate marketing department's bright idea I guess.
  3. Everything was "rideable" was no walking except getting off the gondola. Bare spots and thin cover, some trails full cover it was a real mixed bag. The gondola you have to take everything off every time then u have to walk over to where you would ski, it was just very muddy at the top. That was the only walking part, and it was a longer walk than usual.
  4. Took a ride up to Mountain Creek today 02/03/2006. In a nutshell, conditions are really getting thin and they need some cold weather to make some snow to build the base back up. Stopped at South Peak first and it was supposed to open at 4 p.m. but that never happened. Conditions at South looked real thin too. Vernon was thin but once you worked your way around the obstacles you were fine. Some trails were bad enough that I broke out the camera phone and snapped a few photos and posed in the galleries. We can really use come cold weather.
  5. Most patrols are looking for people who board so don't be afraid to ask if you happen to run into a patroler. Or even stop by the patrol room or top duty.
  6. If anyone was there the past two days did you notice if they "Turned the Beat Around" in the terrain park and put some real music on????
  7. They probably closed it so they could make snow on it. The pipe was seeing some bare spots that need fixing. The snowmaking window is short this week so my guess is that they are going to try and get to turn the guns on ASAP to fix stuff up for us before it gets warm again.
  8. Give me the biggest, steepest and iciest stuff you can find and I'll get that toboggan down better than most on a snowboard. Flats are a pain in the butt because you have to sometimes unclip and skate the catwalks.
  9. I just checked over at that other MB but no one has brought up the subject yet. Maybe they like the disco or just never notice because they don't go in the park.
  10. The bumps were pretty dam good on Monday at Camelback. The only thing that sucked was the disco in the terrain park. I am glad CB has decent bumps this year to mess around on.
  11. Even though the music sucked the conditions were pretty decent for how warm it was. The past few times I been to Camelback I noticed that they have been playing all this Disco 70's in the park not the usuall stuff. Everyone seems to hate the Disco so they shoudl do something about it.
  12. One of my friends sent me this link to a Killington 2 for 1 online coupon. If your going print it out and take it with you. http://www.killington.com/mid_2-for-1.html Expires 02/03/06
  13. They should mix it up like CH28/Faction on Sirius, a little of everything. Rock, Alternative, Punk, and Hip-Hop. Keeps everyone happy. Just keep that Disco out of the park.
  14. Tryin to stay alive in the terrain park so stop the torture already!! Give us a break and lets keep the Bee Gees, Kool and the Gang, Dianna Ross, and Michael Jackson out of our terrain park! Camelback has to be the only mountain in the world that plays 70's disco in their park. (I am sure everyone will have fun with this--LOL)

I seen a guy on the roof today working on the cam. Had it all apart, don't know if its fixed or not.
  16. I don't visit the bar because its always sooooooooo frekin smoky. Ya come home smelling like an ash tray. Jerzy and NYC do it right...NO Smoking.
  17. Just got back from Camelback and we had thunder-snow tonight. It was like a blizzard with almost 0 visibility at the top of the mountain for a good 45 minutes. Once the lighting hit they immediatly stopped loading the lifts and got people off the hill. Was pretty crazy. There is about 4+" of fresh powder at the top of the mountain about 2" at the bottom. I can see the groomers working from the condo. It should be pretty nice in the morning.
  18. If the area is fenced off like I said with major hits, super pipe and large rails (similar to a mountain in NJ) it would be worth it. Plus everyone complains about the noobs in the park. The park pass will keep them out of your way.
  19. The idea I had along with another person on the board is to use the Glenn Chair as the terrain park chair. Fence off that entire area and have a park pass. Install a super pipe that you can see from the Glenn Lodge where they can use that lodge for hosting large events. That's the abbreviated edition of the plans.

Looks like its down. That happened a few times last year and they usually fix it in the morning.

  22. It rained at least 3" which is bad, now its 29F, windy as hell and the snow is proll hard as a rock. I would just wait let the grommers do their job tonight and just go tomorrow it will be soooo much better. If the mountain was open everyone would complain of crappy conditions.
  23. Conditions were great all day on Tuesday and it was a very light crowd. The freezing rain forecasted lasted about 1/2 hour around 5:30-6 p.m. but after that it stopped. They blew snow on Margie's and left it ungroomed, sweet riding that on the first few runs of the morning. That was the trail of the day and stayed in great shape until I left. They were making snow on Birches, Laurel Terrain Park early and those areas were closed. Pretty much everything else was open. The forecast tomorrow is a little sketchy but the rest of week should be pretty good.

Looks like another good day for Friday too. Scoping out the trails on the ride up tonight, they looked good from the road. Some rain in forecast for tomorrow night and saturday. Sunday and Monday they could freshen up most of the trails again before it gets warm on Tuesday.
  25. Snowboarded Killington 2 days and Pico 1 day this week. Conditions at Killington are not bad but a lot of the doubble black stuff is not open. Bare spots starting to show at Killington and Pico. They made some snow last night but tonight it is going to rain, hopefully not too much. Doing a 1/2 day on tomorrow and then heading home to CB and will be there Friday.
