I've never been to Sno so if there is a PASR day there we're definitely in.

01/24/09 The Official PASR Day @ JF
sexkitten replied to sexkitten's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
I might have to run away with you. Haha. Ya know... we don't have to mosey but balls to the wall 100% of the time tends to scare people away. You boys can ski double blacks, on one ski if it pleases you, all day long when you're on your own but on PASR days I think it's better to try and include everyone no matter their skill level. We did hit some of the stuff on East Mt. BTW. I'm not a total stick in the mud damn it. Haha. -
Any good ski and stay deals for Blue this year
sexkitten replied to mdskier's topic in Blue Mountain
I don't really think Blue pushes the whole ski and stay thing. There is some lodging near Blue but it's not great. If you want to save some cash on lift tickets the local ski shops and some of the local parks and recreations sell them at a discount. Sorry for the bad news. -
FEBRUARY 7TH! I'll have to cancel an appointment but we'll be there.

First let me say how much fun it was meeting up with the PASR crowd for the second weekend in a row. For anyone who hasn't made it out to a PASR day I suggest that you try and make it to at least one this year. They really are a lot of fun. Anyway... I had some trouble getting out of bed so Bob and I didn't get to the Mt. until 8:30. By then all of the upper lots and 50% of the lower lots were full. Not a great way to start the day but there was no way we were bailing so we booted up and trudged up to the lodge. The lodge itself and surrounding areas were crawling with people but surprisingly there didn't seem to be that many people on the snow. Some clouds and a light wind had started to kick up but the temps weren't anything close to last week so we didn't really need the astronaut gear. Since it wasn't barely 9:00 Bob and I decided to do some of the Blue runs off of the lift by the grill. The snow was soft hard pack if that makes any sense. There was still a ton of untracked corduroy left on the sides of the trails and it was somewhat fast. Very fun! Unfortunately when we got to the bottom of the 1st run we were greeted with a mile long lift line. Why JF wouldn't have both lifts running is beyond me but whatever... they did eventually. On the second run the cloud cover thickened and it actually started to snow which was lovely. After the 2nd run we met up with the PASR gang and a barely booted up ThinkSnow who had just arrived, had some friends with him and needed some more time. We agreed to meet back up at 10:00 and then we were off. We did a couple of runs on the Blues off of the double lift by the grill then met up with Greg and his friend sans the girls who were over in the Greens. We proceeded to hit most of the blues and some of closer blacks before traversing back over to the grill area to meet up with Think's wife and their friend Laurie who only had 1 prior day on skis under her belt. Since we had a beginner in the crew we pretty much stayed on the blues and even ventured over to the Greens which were fun in a slow sort of way. We broke for lunch around 11:15 just as the snow stopped. Of course we were not able to find a table for 2 let alone 8 in the crowded ass lodge so we tried the bar. Typical of me I had left my ID in the car and had to tromp all the way back out to get it but it was worth it as the bar was somewhat less crowded. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a ski lodge outside of BC so damn busy. 40 Minutes and a belly full of bar food later we were back on the snow. We did a bunch of Blue runs then the boys minus one went to hit East Mt. for a couple of high speed runs. Once they left the girls +1 skied the crap out of Exhibition and Dante's. Around 2:00 we met back up... conditions were still pretty good but things were begining to get skied off and most of us were tired so we made the decision to bail. We had planned on hitting the bar for a farewell drink but of course we couldn't find a single seat so we threw in the towel. Overall it was a really nice day on the snow with some new people for 1/2 the price. Yay PASR days!!

I thought that the point of trail designation was to inform the skiers and riders of the difficulty level for that mountain and not as a standard for all mountains. As someone who is still learning I appreciate that Falls, Challenge, Sasquatch, etc. are designated as blacks so that I can make an informed decision as to what I am capable/ comfortable of skiing on.

This TR is making me so excited for our trip in February.
-
Uh... that's an understatement. If only you had clocked him and shouted out his speed.
-
No! The only Blues we hit were Exhibition and Lehigh and I think it was only one or two runs on those. Almost all of our day was on East Mt. This weekend I am doing all of the trails with or without the crew.
-
I'm kinda sad we didn't do all the Blues last week. I think that's going to be my mission this Saturday.
-
Sorry but it was too good not to. Mine will be major flares and tight though... I doubt you are going there with your get up. Finally you see the light. Haha.
-
PASR days don't have to be Challenge and Razors all day. Just show up and take it easy. You can ski with the girls which is fun for soooo many reasons.
-
Funny... I'm usually in public when I want to shoot at people. Hmmmm...
-
I vote for the 21st.
-
Maybe??!! Attendance is mandatory people. You will have fun with us or else.

I had 4 pairs of pants on that day. Sitting was semi painful. I think I'm wearing jeans for gaper day 2009. I have an old "fat" pair that I am going to work on waterproofing.

Ohhhh... I forgot about Presiden't day weekend. Do we really want to have PASR day then?
-
We're good for the 14th, 15th 21st or 22nd. We prefer a Saturday but if it has to be a Sunday we would still come. FYI Sunday the 22nd since it is my 30th B-Day. Just keep us updated.
-
Oh please let it be Valentine's Day!! What could be more romantic than hanging out with PASRs? No... no... Saturday is always better . I think everyone who knows Doug feels that way.
-
I was kidding silly goose. We all stayed off to the side and out of the way. Just trying to lighten up a weird situation.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but 10 idiots skiing around the park features in order to catch someone who wants nothing to do with them is also a no-no. Haha.
-
The PASR bunch always waits for the slower people on PASR days. I know because I am always the slowest person and the "boys" always wait for me. I too like the whole laid back atmosphere of the PASR days. I'm not out there to prove that I have the biggest balls. I ski to have fun and for me that doesn't require high speeds, huge amounts of runs, double blacks, etc. That's kind of good too considering that I can't do any of that stuff anyway. Haha. I hereby promise that we won't leave you next time. That was pretty heinous but we didn't look hard for you cause I thought that you might have had to bail for the race stuff. Ugh.

At least something made you fall. Yesterday I fell down at the top of the lift for no reason. Who knows why but that seems to be the way it always happens. Sounds like you guys had a good but crowded day. I really wish Blue would reconsider the whole late opening thing. The 7:30 to 8:00 runs really were the best of the whole day. Oh well. P.S. Doug seems to be quite the troublemaker lately. 1st the database then being out of control at JF yesterday and now swearing at patrollers? WTF?
-
Thanks. BTW he is a gaper so the look is fitting. Haha. I guess I can't say that anymore since, by the numbers, he kept up with you yesterday. Oh well... I gape alone. Groomed. I won't lie... I was a little intimidated at first but I hit all of the trails over there and honestly had no problems.

Actually everyone but Melissa wore facemasks. The pic was taken around 1:30 PM when it was much warmer and when we were saying our goodbyes. Here's my TR... Bob and I left around 7 AM and were in the lodge by 8:40 AM thanks to a traffic and police free turnpike. In the lodge we met up with Doug and shortly after Jeff. Vert whores that they are they abandoned us pretty quickly but we saw Barb and her boys walking thru the lodge and they kept us company. Note to Barb... good work on the kids... they are beautiful and very well behaved. Anyway, Barb had to get the kids to some race thing and bailed just before Think and his friend showed up. We hung with them for a few and then headed out to the top of Exhibition. There we met back up with some PASRs and decided to do an Exhibition run before the official meeting time. Once back at the top we met the whole crew, did the introduction thing and did a run down to a quad. Of course we lost someone (sorry Barb) and from there basically made our way over to East Mt. Due to the conditions and goading from the crew I skied pretty much all of the blacks over there. Not with style of course but I felt comfortable and thank the guys for pushing. Of course we had to get in trouble... what would a PASR day be without an international incident? At the top of the lift Think whipped out his radar gun and it was decided that Floyd's would be the best place to clock the gang. As we were departing Bob made mention of the large number of red coats in the area but the plan was set so off we went. The boys did their thing and Think was yelling out the mph when a craggy, old redcoat and his grandpa decided we had had enough fun. He traversed down and promptly informed us that we were out of control and that he'd like to see us making more tuns and not bombing the runs. Of course that didn't go over well being that everyone was able to easily stop at the bottom and since we were on a damn black diamond which is supposed to be an expert run. Grisly Adams wasn't having any of that however and nicely insisted that we not do it again or else. Of course we went right back up and over to Floyd's. PASR's really are assholes. Haha. After that I think we went down for lunch. Jeff got his period and bailed but as a fellow chick who has had bad cramps herself I understood. Haha. Our lunch was awful and about $34.00... up at the other end of the table there was a freaking gourmet banquet but I wasn't even offered a taste. WTF?? As someone else said the whole lot of us easily got a table which I found amazing. Sometime during lunch it was mentioned by Librider who had just joined us that a certain, beloved PASRer was present but didn't want to meet up with us. If you haven't already guessed it was Mr. TT6. Of course being the juvenile idiots that we are it was immediately decided that we should hunt him down and introduce ourselves. Back out on the snow we spotted him pretty quickly and chased followed him thru the park to make our introductions but he wasn't really interested in hanging so we made our way back over to East Mt. After a few miscellaneous runs (including one that took me though a trail marked as closed and with gates on it... oops) it was decided that we needed one more clocked run. Bob offered to operate the radar gun so that Think could get at least one timed run. Of course this kind gesture jinxed him he hit ice and fell on the way down the slope. Haha... I mean... poor baby. At least he didn't get hurt. In all fairness it was getting a bit icy/ skied off at that point. For that reason plus some tired legs I waited while the crew did a run on Lightning or something. Once they were back we took our pic, said our goodbyes and then Bob, Melissa and I made our way over to the other side. Now I know everyone said that there was nothing over there but being that this was my 1st trip to JF I wanted to be able to say I saw the whole Mt. Once back in blue square land I realized why I had been told to avoid it. Although some of the trails were fun they were slow and absolutely teeming with newbies. On our last run we saw total carnage including one person who needed the body bag sled thing. That was our sign to leave and on the lift ride back up Melissa and I decided we needed to see the E2000 lounge to make the day complete. Once up there we met up with Barb by coincidence and she joined us for a drink. We also called Doug and soon enough he was with us too. A band went on at like 2:30 and wasn't too bad but was very loud. Doug busted out some steezy dance moves and Bob put the moves on the Bacardi girl and scored us a free round of drinks. Overall it was a great UNOFFICIAL PASR day. Although the whole crew won't be present I am looking forward to the one next week as well. To anyone who didn't make it out try to be at the next PASR day... they really are a good time and shouldn't be missed.
