Yup. I went under special circumstances though...dual and then early enrollment and all sorts of other good stuff. Gotta love the US Navy.

They kinda get around that now with video table games. I don't really love the non AC casinos though. They are a little scary. Hopefully the new ones being built will try for a Vegas feel and not a PA feel.

Since I've only been there once a lot of the article didn't mean much to me but I was bummed to see that the lower Skyeship gondola won't be open all week long. The "funnest" run of our trip last year was Great Eastern from Killington Peak all the way down to lower Skyeship. Oh well. I do like that they plan to make/ have made the facilities nicer. I also love the idea of a "vacation" village. Of course I'm also not the typical skier. Yes, I am a spoiled brat when it comes to vacationing.

I go to the Jersey shore (or Maryland) about once or twice a year and it's a total shithole. Unfortunately it's close and usually a family trip that I'm kinda required to go to.

My Boss' family went there and HATED it. They said the place was a real dump and they would know as my boss is super cheap.

We like staying as close to the lifts as humanly possible. Ski in/ out is even better and is usually fine in February (coverage wise).

If the Grand is rundown then the rest of the hotels in the Killington base area are outright dumps. We checked out 4 or 5 of the other hotels including the big one and they were ALL shit. Okemo doesn't seem to have a lot of close, non condo offerings but I might be looking too early or in the wrong place. Oh well.

I've always been a little disappointed with the hotel choices around the PA, NY, VT ski resorts. I know, I know, I KNOW that the trip is about skiing but I don't want to stick to the bed damn it. The only hotel I can honestly say lives up to it's advertisements is the one at BC. That place is exactly what it bills itself to be. I only wish I could have found a place in Killington like that joint.

Maybe they ran out of money. Last season wasn't a great one. They said they'd send info out about the condos as soon as they had it... that was over a year ago.

I was actually thinking that. Where the F is the other trail they are talking about?
