Yes... officially we are still boycotting but I think Mark and I may have convinced Bob to give BC one more chance. I hope so anyway. I have a bit of a soft spot for BC. It's the 1st place I ever skied.
-
Wha wha what? I actually go three or so times a year. It would be more but Bob gets bored and the mornings are too busy. A ski on coaster would rule.
-
I only ski from 7:30 to 11 and by 10 I can't wait to leave. I am a ski hermit though so maybe I'm not the best person to ask about this stuff.
-
They have longer trails but I really feel that they (said trails) get skied off way too quickly. BC seems to have great conditions all day... when they have snow that is. Probably because the trails aren't steep enough to track the snow off of. I'd rather have a moderate trail with great snow than a great trail with awful conditions anyway. That's just my opinion BTW. Hate the crowds though.

"Sex" skiing at Blue can be had on Saturdays and Sundays but only till about 9 AM. After that everything is pretty much skied off and the human slalom race begins. Early ski days mean more time for naps anyway so I don't mind.

Oh Doug... what do you care what goes on at the ski areas in the Summer?
-
That's what I ski and I love them but then again I am far from a racer. He's actually a brain surgeon... no... a evil, super genius.. no a... BTW Sib your stats were awesome. Thanks.

You know... you are a dick head Ski but I wouldn't have said it like that. Haha! X2. I may have to start using these stupid things after all.

Say it isn't so!!!

Thanks guys... and girlz! I am getting excited for SNOW!!! I think the JGH is going to be for us. We don't really care about nightlife since we usually ski hard and konk out around 9. Glad to hear that I won't have to deal with Romper Room all week. I don't hate kids but I don't necessarily want to deal with them either. It seems that most of them nowadays are unruly and practically begging me to smack them. Hmmmmm. To get sued or not to get sued. Yay for intermediate terrain. Killington was great but some of the stuff was a little tough for me. OK... not tough but scary. Ok not scary... F-ing scary. Yes, I fell a lot. Since my last visit to the orthopedist wasn't a good one I'm going to have to strength like crazy this fall and be very careful not to overwork the hips during the season. Oh well. Oh Dad... she'll always have time for a run or two with you!

Thanks Timeless. Budget isn't really an issue so maybe we'll look at condos. It just seems a shame to have a whole house when all we need is a bed and bathroom but if that's the only choice so be it. Since we don't want to have to drive to the mountain I am guessing that condos are going to be our only option anyway. BTW, do you think that Okemo is the Sesame Place of the Vermont ski areas? Friends of our keep calling it that and we kinda hate kids so...
-
What do you all suggest? We want to go in February, midweek, and don't really need a condo. Thanks in advance for your help.

We would build something. My work neighbors are a metal working shop. Yeah... and? Haha. It's my name for our downstairs game room. It will have a pole though. OK... maybe not. It's a nice thought though. Bob is so by proxy so am I. Sadly though... sadly. Actually I may have talked him out of it by now. We'll see when ski season comes.

I bet it wouldn't make as much of an impact as you'd think. I see plenty of swanky cars and even swankier lodge Moms up at BC. Ugh. I REALLY want a lift chair for my boom boom room!!! Seriously. Mark, PM me. Please.

Don't get me wrong I love the idea of preserving history I just didn't realize a single would cost so damn much.

Vermont ski resorts investing Mon Jul 30, 1:56 PM ET KILLINGTON, Vt. - They're coming off two lackluster seasons in a row, but Vermont's winter resorts continue to pour millions of dollars into improvements designed to lure more skiers and snowboarders. New lifts, trails, base lodges and luxury housing are among the improvements resorts are making as many have been turned into construction zones during the short summer building season. At Mount Snow in Wilmington, $3.5 million out of $5.5 million in improvements will be focused on snowmaking, with the purchase of 100 new energy efficient snowmaking guns, said Chris Lenois, spokesman for Mount Snow owner Peak Resorts. "We expect to be able to extend our season; we expect to be able to open with more terrain then we normally have been able to," Lenois said, "and we expect to recover far more quickly from temperature fluctuations." Farther north, Mad River Glen, a small, nonprofit ski area, has raised more than $1.2 million in charitable contributions, in partnership with the Preservation Trust of Vermont and the Stark Mountain Foundation, toward the $1.54 million cost of rehabilitating a single-chair lift in operation since 1948. Magic Mountain, Sugarbush and Okemo are among other resorts making improvements to snowmaking, while several are expanding their offerings designed to attract visitors during the warmer months. Stowe Mountain Resort, for example, is including an 18-hole golf course and 21,000-square-foot spa

S. Kitten was better. You should have seen her performance down Razors late in the season. Inspiring. -
Yes. I think that slots and other non ski attractions will definitely bring more people, especially mixed groups(skiers and non skiers) to CB. Think about it... you can board or ski, hit the spa, tube with the kids, shop if you don't want to be on the snow, hit the slots or have a fancy dinner all in one place. What's not to like about that when you are on vacation? Add in the fact that the rooms/ hotel will be way more upscale and closer to the mountain than pretty much every hotel in the Poconos and you have exactly what people are looking for. Besides superior skiing, which doesn't matter to a lot of people, what other Pocono mountain can rival that? And please, please do not bring up the Blue Mt. Drive. We're not going there thanks. I'm glad quite frankly. More families at CB = less families at the mountains I do like to go to.

Mmmmmm... hot. Maybe he was wondering when to make his move. Hmmmmm?
-
Oh ha ha ha! So damn funny. I actually used to be not bad when I boarded. I always say I want to get back into the park stuff but when it comes time to do it the little voice in my head tells me that a broken hip from hot dogging is ridiculous at my age. I think you call that all show and no go if I'm not mistaken. Boy did it hurt to admit that one. Anywaqy, I've never been to JFBB. Maybe next season we'll do an overnighter. It's just too far a drive home after a full day of skiing. Worry not Papa... we'll have our moment.
-
If all you have to do for mad sponsors is throw down the perfect power wedge than I'm a shue in. I want to go to Tucks some day too but I'd need to practice every day of my life for the next two years to be at that level. Oh well.. it's a good, although highly improbable, goal to have.
-
Ignore... ignore... la la la... Hey, I didn't get to meet you again this season!! Barb says you're a cutie and nice to boot. Damn you Papa... why can't you ski at Blue once in a while??!!
