Really? Thanks man. Wait... will I love it like I was supposed to love Outer Limits or are you being for real?
-
You know... I noticed that the staff at Killington was really friendly and accomodating too. I guess if your mountain has a lot of competition you have to strive to provide good service to keep business.

I wish he would!

Sorry...we're out. The closest I'll get to skiing this weekend is putting our skis away. Damn it!!! I am seriously considering putting my boots and skis on in the house and taking a stairs run or two. Maybe if I do bra and panties style Bob won't yell. Worth a try right?

Quick... reopen the mountains... it's snowing. Haha.

How much are fried oreos? What is the name of the consession cart outside of the lower lodge? Who advertises on a boat outside of the upper lodge entrance? What is the name of the Blue Mt. newsletter?

Hey! I prefer groomers.

I rode in Japan once... back when I was a boarder if you can believe that. There was no mega pipe when I was there though. I'd have only fallen in it anyway.

They were all skiers. Maybe a dumb question but here goes... why no boarders? Hmmmmmm.

Ski day 29 and Bob and I skidded into the lower lot around 7:20 AM. The whole crew was already there and booting up and I got to put a bunch of names to faces which was cool. Not surprisingly no one gaped out (no Doug your tin foil tie does not count) but me but it didn't matter. We skied pretty much everything but Razors with a variety of PASR's throughout the day and had a blast. Early in the morning the snow was freaking amazing... so much so that I barely noticed that it was drizzling. Doug says the rain actually helps keep the snow fast and smooth which makes rainy day skiing almost worth doing every once in a while. I spotted Barb in her tutu around 9 and we grabbed her and made a pit stop in the parking lot for beers, shots, champagne, brownies, Chex mix... I think that was it. Then we skied 2 or 3 more runs and Doug officially became my hero by having a small yard sale without ever dropping his beer. The snow was pretty much manky Motz at that point but it wasn't unskiiable. Around 10:30-11 we pitted again for more beers, shots, champagne and also chicken fingers, burgers, pretzels... I know you all like reading about what we ate! Barb baled around 11 and kindly donated her tutu to Doug which he proudly rocked for a few runs. I think it ended up taking the 6 pack back to the lodge alone but that's another story. Anyway, around 12 we took the "so damn slow it actually hurt me" chair to Vista and watched the lame ass pond skimming for a while. They really need to make the pond longer or somehow make the skimming more challenging. Or not. Anyway, Zonked disappeared (hmmmmm?!) and Doug freestyled, everyone ate pirogies and we called some guys "trick hoes". The guys wanted to do a few more runs but I had jello legs and a major buzz so Bob and I bailed around 2. Overall it was a great closing day... I drank, skied, saw way too much peeing off piste, yelled at people I didn't know, finally skied with Zonked, met a bunch of PASR's I'd never met before... whew... that's about it. See you all next season (since I know you lame asses won't get together this summer). You're my boy Blue!

But you have to admit that most of the problems that occurred at BC this season were, at their core, the same basic problem... lack of planning. Yes, Mark addressed BC's issues as they arose and did so in a timely and upfront way but I can't say (from my experience) that anything was really fixed. Maybe all of the issues and kinks from this season will be addressed and fixed for next season but we won't be back to find out and I am willing to bet that we aren't the only ones. Unfortunately I think BC is getting popular enough that they won't miss us which is a damn shame. I hope they don't become like CB. If they install a water park I may have to give those fire bomb plans I was looking at last night a closer look. Haha.

Too bad you have to get up early for Blue the next day... you'd be 9 minutes from our karaoke bar.
-
Bob and I will be there at 7:20.

Mmmmm hmmmmm... OK. I can't wait for next weekend.

Is that really a word? If it is it's a manky one.

Ski industry goes green to fight warming By TOM GARDNER, Associated Press Writer Sun Mar 18, 12:45 AM ET STATELINE, Nev. - Mammoth Mountain urges its visitors to park their cars and take advantage of an extensive bus network. The Vail resorts, including nearby Heavenly at Lake Tahoe, run their lifts with wind power. In Colorado, the Sunshine Express high-speed quad at Steamboat operates on sunlight. The ski industry is going green to help offset the pollution that feeds global warming

You know... for the same people that bashed Bob and I about a legitimate issue you all sure bitch a lot about nothing. I may have my problems with BC but I think that the customer appreciation day is a great idea. It's free shit and extra time on the mountain!!! What is the problem with that? Good job and good idea BC. I think that all bitching and griping aside people still came and enjoyed.

We'll be there anyway so maybe we'll hang out and watch.
-
Me too!!!
-
Which season? Bob says he'll bring the green beer.
-
Well... we can officially say that they aren't closing the 25th as previously stated (as of today anyway) cause they took that info off of the website. I guess you could technically say they might be closing earlier but it's not likely. My guess it that they'll close the 1st but with the snow coming and a possibility of some more cold weather who knows. When do they stop blowing?
-
Bob and I will be there at 7:20. We'll probably have to leave the house at 4:30 but such is life.

Yes, Blue is busier too but not so busy that they have to turn people away. I think more people go to BC because it's so much closer. People are busy these days and don't want to waste half of a precious Saturday driving to Blue or the Pocons. That's the reason we used to go to BC over Blue anyway.
