So we're actually going to be at Blue on Saturday morning and I saw that it's retro day. Who gonna be there? Will you dress up 2 weekends in a row? Are you gonna participate in the bump competition?
-
Looks like you all had a great time. Sorry we had to miss it. Bob didn't end up getting home until 1AM so an early start was out of the question. Oh well... there's always next year.
-
Look, I'm sorry I'm taller than almost everyone on here. I can't help it people. Haha. I would have loved to see that. If you come to Gaper Day bring them.
-
But not for Mom and Dad.
-
From my experience as a nanny kids tend to want to leave, pee, cry, etc. when it's most inconvenient. If they like skiing and want to stay all day great but if not at least there is less hassle for Mom and Dad. Try Bear Creek. They sell 4 hour passes, have a pretty mild terrain and are closer than the Pocs for a lot of people. JMO.

Whatever Mt is closer and/ or cheaper. That way if the kid hates it and wants to bail you don't have that far to drive home or too much cash lost.
-
Always say you are dropping someone off or picking someone up. There are always spots in the paved section... you just gotta get down there.
-
Yes it does but unfortunately it's way further for us so we stick to Blue. As for the lifts they are slower but not so much so that it ruins the day.
-
Just doesn't make sense for us. Oh well.
-
Here are some pics... 16 inches. Yay! Can really see the accumulation on the top of the shed. View out the back door View out the front door
-
Looks like we got 16 inches. Took us forever to dig out but I think we're done. At least the snow was light and powdery.
-
Post of the day. BTW I love trannies.
-
15? I saw 45 MPH gusts. Bob has to work anyway. Maybe Sunday.
-
Too windy for us... we're out. Sorry.
-
Started here at 5:30 PM and as of right now we have about an inch or so.
-
Which is why Bob OK'd a club trip for Saturday night. No point in fighting the crowds on and buying a morning ticket when we'll only make it 3 hours tops. I was thinking that Super Bowl parties would keep some of the daytrippers off of the slopes but Bob thinks not.
-
Sorry to post this in maybe the wrong place but I was poking around Craigslist last night and saw a ton of Blue Mt. lift tickets for pretty cheap. Just an FYI.
-
Maybe we will ski Saturday... it'll get us away from all the snow. Or maybe we'll ski BC. Who knows.
-
100 to 309? You mean 22? Anyway we live in North Coventry and on a normal day we leave at 6:30 and get to the Mt. right before 8:00. Taking into account poor road conditions and fraidy cat slow pokes I would leave at 5:30 at the latest if you want to be at the Mt. when they open. Hope this helps.
-
Ha ha... we're getting more snow than you!
-
I doubt we'll make it up to Blue if the snow is significant. Our drive is long on a dry day for pete's sake. I love skiing but not enough to drive 8 hours round trip for a day at Blue. Sorry. Oooooo... I had a thought! Maybe I could crash at Doug's Friday night. Oh Doug...

can't do a trail report for Blue if they don't let you go out on snow
sexkitten replied to Robert2's topic in Blue Mountain
I hate to disagree since you made a well spoken argument but we don't ski that often and still managed to learn the ins and outs of arriving, parking, booting up, etc. Honestly this is all moot though since Robert comes on public transportation. I guess he could ala Doug wear full gear on the bus. I don't see that happening. I am beginning to hate this thread now that I think about it. Awwwww. That's not true. OK... that's not always true. -
I got that too. Also, a very cute old man approached us while we were hot chocolating today and gave us an unsolicited run down on the luge set up. Had we had normal shoes we might have checked it out after our runs but Bob wears his Crocs and I wear slippers to skiing. Oh well. The announcer said 10- 25 MPH. The 85 MPH is the pro luge which they didn't have set up. Yet another reason we didn't venture over there.

can't do a trail report for Blue if they don't let you go out on snow

Hahahaha! Sorry Robert. Anyway, I have a simple solution for next time (and you know there will be a next time... MOVE THE STUFF. Seriously, take the shit out and throw it on the floor. This is exactly what Bob and I do when dealing with ski gear left on lodge tables while people are on the slopes and pool chairs saved with towels by people who won't be at the pool until long after we leave. Our philosophy is that if you have no problem being inconsiderate to others then you can't possibly have issue when people are inconsiderate to you in return. -
I'm actually thinking that I might like JF better than Blue. If only the parking there was better... that's all that's really keeping me from being definitive.
