I avoided the park yesterday morning, but by the afternoon, I wanted to hit some rails/jumps and paid the $10. It was sweet not having to stop at every hit to wait for it to clear out, or have to dodge the pizza wedgers. I'm all for anyone being allowed in the park, now I'm all about paying $10 once a season to avoid the crowded parks I run into at Blue and Bear.

Darn it! Yeah, I'm in. Late as usual! I used mine waaaay more then 5 times last year, not a word from anyone.

I'll be there Friday night, possibly Sunday early if all goes as planned.

I'm going on a guys only trip to Vail, CO the 2nd week of March, 08. Although Vail is definitely not my first choice, I've never been there, plus with 6 of us going to visit a friend of ours who now lives there, I can only imagine the fun that awaits. Anybody have any suggestions on where to stay? Also, what's the difference between Vail, and Vail-Beaver Creek, and which should we be looking to hit up? We have a week, so we're open to anything!

The announced sales follow the December announcement of the planned $265 million sale of Steamboat resort. The total cash purchase price of $73.5 million for both resorts is subject to working capital and seasonal earnings adjustments. As a condition of the purchase and sale agreement, stockholder approval is required for the sales of the Mount Snow and Attitash resorts. The sole holder of the Company's Preferred Stock Series C-1, representing 65.8% of the voting shares entitled to vote on the matter, has voted in favor of the transaction, which constitutes majority stockholder approval. Such approval means the transaction may be approved without a meeting of the Company's stockholders. The Company anticipates distributing an information statement to stockholders regarding the majority stockholder approval as soon as practicable. The stockholder approval will not be effective until twenty days have elapsed following mailing of the information statement to stockholders. In addition to stockholder approval, the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust approval and consent of the U.S. Forest Service. The few idiots who do yell comments at anybody, experienced or not, should not be a reflection on the mountain itself. I have to agree that Bear Creek is more in tune with their customers as far as trying to really listen and accomodate most reasonable requests. Obviously this isn't always the case, but they have put forth far more effort then any other local mountain in the past few years. As far as bitching and moaning on here goes, I have to agree with Bob and the like, that a forum is to be used to voice your opinion, good or bad, in order to highlight a problem, experience, suggestion, complaint, compliment, etc. While the annoying little gripe posts made by some may be viewed as ridiculous, I have to think those "little rich kids" think posts complaining about them are a waste of time as well. It's good to have a place to express your opinions, and to see those of others who may be more experienced, younger, older, etc. Sidenote: I think I have spelled everything correctly in this post. If everyone else can complain, my complaint would be the terrible spelling by some of those who post on here!

When I was at K-mart in Jan. we rode up the Ramshead quad. From the top of that peak, to the skiers left, you could see another mountain off in the distance. Anybody know what mountain this is? At first we thought it could be Pico, but then realized the mountain we could see was much further away then 5 or 6 miles like Pico. Just curious to know if it's worth checking out when we go up again in March.

If the last time you were at BC it was still Doe, you're in for one HUGE surprise. You won't recognize the place. To say they've made improvements is a ridiculous understatement. You can't help but have a great time. Hope you like to ride in the park. If not, you won't find a better place to learn. Have fun!

Hey all. I'll be up Thurs. afternoon about 3 with 2 boarders and 2 skiers. All practicing smart park style and removing our boards/skis for the steps. Love dodging the gapers and death cookies.

I haven't had problems with my new Ride boots, but I have had problems with the binding straps getting stripped from tightening the bindings. Not overtight, just snug and the start stripping the plastic teeth. Called Ride and they sent me new ones.

Whatever jackasses, they're blowing snow right now. How many of you would give you "expert" opinions if we were 5 ft deep in snow right now? Amazing how all the "experts" in here must major in snowmaking 101. That is, if you're even out of high school yet.

Definitely prefer Stowe over Kmart, but Kmart can be good if you know what trails to hit. For the weather the east has had, Killi was in great shape last week.

Hey all, just got back last night from 2 days of riding at Killington with 4 of da fellas. We arrived about 4 pm Sunday afternoon, checked out the mountain at K1 lodge, talked to a few people who said the mountain was in great shape for the weather. Advertised 75 open trails and 20 lifts. It started snowing heavily Sunday night, ran into some locals who work on the mountain and they said they could get up to 6 inches at the peak. Went out Monday morning in the pouring rain, but found the coverage to be great. Packed it in after 3 hours in a down pour, but had a lot of fun for a short day. Tuesday brought a fresh 4 inches from mother nature, and the overnight temps allowed for snowmaking all night. On the mountain early Tuesday, finally got to ride some fresh powder. Weather at the peak of the K1 gondola was a full on blizzard. Near zero visibilty on some of the trails coming off the top with the natural snowfall and every snow gun blowing all day. Rode all day until close at 4pm with only 2 short breaks. Conditions were awesome for all of Tuesday, with no waiting on any lifts, except a short 1-2 minute wait on the K1 gondola. This entire week will be perfect snowmaking temps with some more natural snow in the forecast. Not a big fan of crowded KMart, but the mountain is in great shape, and the earlier weather seemed to keep the crowds away. If you're looking for a MT. with some great conditions to be found, check em out.

Just hit it! Seriously, as long as you practice "smart style" you shouldn't have any problems with anybody in the park. Just call your drop, stay out of the landings, try not to roll over the lips and run ups. Make sure to check out the features first, before you hit em. It's cool that BC has the beginner park, they also have small features in the main parks to help you transition to the bigger stuff. I don't know of any lessons, but the best lesson is gettin the balls to try a new feature and go for it, not back out at the last moment, etc. As long as you don't make it dangerous for anyone in the park, you shouldn't have any problems. Just be smart and go get yourself some stoke!

Even though it's cold and windy outside, seeing all that snow blowing on the webcam at Bear makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Sorry, I need a moment...

So I have a trip to Killington booked with the fellas for the 2nd week of Jan. 07. We're also looking at another trip in March, 3-4 days, would like to go to another east coast mt. within driving distance from Reading, PA. We could do Killi again, but want to look at some other options. Been to Killi, Smuggs, Stowe. Any suggestions?

Any ideas on where to stay further in town, we'll have some people with who won't be on the mountain- poor souls- but would there be someplace closer to the restaurants and shopping that we could drive to the lifts? I haven't been up there is a couple of years so this is all new to me.

I'm planning on a Killington trip mid January with a couple of buds. Looking for opinions on where to stay. Prefer to be able to walk to the lifts. Any ideas?
