For all of you who want to get better at pipe; Ride a bigger pipe. It's much easier to progress faster in a bigger pipe than a smaller one. Bigger pipes are more forgiving when it comes to pumping the tranny for speed, so it's easier to consistantly air out. Smaller pipes require way more technical skill when trying to keep speed.

I've got some photos on my laptop, next time I'm somewhere with wifi I'll post them.

If you live within a hour of Bear and are even remotely interested in park you should definitely buy a pass for there next season. I wish a place like Bear existed when I still lived in PA. Hell, I had just as much fun riding there this year as I do when I ride Northstar or Hood during the summer. Who do you think holds a candle to BC? Blue? I rode there this year and was disgusted at their setup.
-
Why not? BC has one of the best, if not the best park in all of PA. Definitely worth checking out.
-
Errr... There's pipes twice that size. I don't really think that's much bigger than any pipe CB has had in the past.

Ding ding. Don't expect a sintered base on a board that retails for $330.

Other than the fact that it was a money pit?

I heard it's pretty fun there

I believe there are adult camps. I've seen a good deal of older "recreational" skiers cruising some gates. Also, 'Dude, I'm a little curious. What's the general consensus on snowboard camps from a racer's mind? Do all the coaches hate us for ducking ropes? Are campers jealous because we get to play dodgeball while you have to run laps around Gov'y?
-
Nice to hear you had a fun time, 'Dude. You caught some awesome weather while you were here (if anything it was a little too hot). Coming back again next year?

I am trying to explain to you how to improve your contest. Don't get all butthurt and call me a whiner. Maybe next time I'll keep my comments to myself and you'll see how many decent riders show up once they realize that 1. there is a 1 in 8 chance that they are going to walk away with diddly even if they win their division, and 2. they're going to lose said prize to someone in a completely different division. I was ready to book a ticket home to take part in your comp, now I've come to realize that it would be both a waste of time and money. Hell, I know a bunch of other east coast riders who would love to make a trip to Bethlehem if there was $1,000 on the line. Too bad none of them are going to roll the dice on the 12.5% chance that they'd be awarded a prize after beating everyone else in their division. P.S. You say that your events will be professional and fun, yet everything I've read this far reeks of amateurism. If you seriously want some help on what you can do to make these events sucessful, PM me. If you are going to continue to call me names and write me off as a "Devil's Advocate" then I'll just laugh and watch you waste money in a futile quest to promote your mountain.

How about you break the $1,000 down to accomodate for each division? Also, you wouldn't need $8,000. There is absolutely no reason why prizes should be equal throughout the divisions. I would honestly prefer no prize to a completely random one. By offering a random grand prize you're pretty much saying "Oh hey your skills were good enough to take your division but we're going to give the whole prize to this girl skier because her name was pulled from the hat! Better luck next year!" Imagine if they would take the top three slopestyle skiers and snowboarders at the X-Games and, rather than give out a gold, silver, and bronze medal for each sport, randomly selected one winner to take home the bling-bling diamond and platinum medal. Who cares what the first place snowboarder did in his run, he's going to get diddly-squat because his name wasn't selected in the random drawing.
-
That is lame beyond belief. That means that even if I win the Open Snowboard division I can still lose a thousand dollar GC to a 13-year old skier or a female snowboarder who did a back board to get to finals. Correct me if I'm wrong.

When are these rail jams?
-
Probably because that game is god-awful.

There's still a decent amount of city-folk on the weekends but during the week it's mostly campers.

Extruded is good if you like being the slowest person in a pack.

Extruded is worthless.

Conditions right now at Timberline are pretty awesome. They had a ton of snow this winter and were pretty good about catting it down right after it stopped snowing, so it's holding up pretty well against the heat. Lifts open at 7:00 and close at 1:30. Ski racers are there for first chair and usually are gone by 11:00-12:00. Our camp is on-hill by 10:00-10:30 and we stay until 3:00. The snow is pretty firm until around 10:00, and by 2:00 it's super slushy. They groom and salt every night and every morning, and as race camps leave you can go ride their (heavily salted) lanes on the snowfield. We salt the hell out of the snow to keep it rideable.

AWD is not going to magically transform a bad driver into a good one.

And you don't have to shoot anybody, either. Well, not in the military sense.

Does Montage even have a park?
