First pro-form of the season just came through and I picked this suit up, but in army green; http://www.sepiaclothing.com/

He's from PA, his parents didn't bankroll him, and he's a genuine down-to-earth nice guy. He also just so happens to be one of the sickest rail riders out right now. He's the only guy I see at Mammoth that will make me stop taking laps and watch him ride. Hopefully some day I'll be able to get to his level and make back 180 s/w 50-50 front 180 out on a down rail a "lap trick." Also, even though I could probably get free/discounted boards from other companies, I'll still probably pay to buy his first pro model this year.

Eddie is probably my favorite rider and definately a big reason why I moved to CA. Too bad I'm not as good as him :/

Most big mountains have sections like that on their website. At least Mammoth, June, and Northstar do.

Here's two photos I've got; This is where I stopped dead on the rail thanks to having absolutely no speed. I hopped to the landing from here. Edit: also, a funny part of the rail jam was watching all the kooks who showed up in full winter gear. I'm pretty sure I was the only guy wearing jeans.

I know the right people and I'm alright at snowboarding. That's really about it.
-
Provided you ollie up to the rail, which was not the case at this rail jam. How many kids did you see hit the jump, pop 2 feet up, then land on the rail and immediately fall off? I saw a lot. That was becuase the jump was too poppy.
-
Hahahahahaha, I don't want a ride on rail, I want a mellow jump with a foot/foot and a half ollie to rail.
-
Mammoth is scheduled to open November 10th, and I have to be there for that, but I'm toying with the idea of spending a week in the Salt Lake area before that, so probably either last week of October or a few days after Halloween.

Papasteeze hit most of the points. The setup wasn't bad, but it needed work. The jump was a "skier" jump, a little too much pop for what I like. It was also slightly higher than the rail, which I can't stand. The rail was awesome, but they should have stuck a cinderblock or two under the front of it so you'd carry your speed a little better on the rail. On my last hit I wanted to start spinning onto the rail, so I was going to have two kids slingshot me. I grab their hands, then they both ask me "ok so wait what do you want us to do." Needless to say they didn't do too well in the slingshot department. A big part of the reason I left was the amount of kids there. After an hour of waiting in line I got to hit the rail three times. Also, there was a handfull of kids who I guess thought they were more important than everyone else, and kept snaking the shit out of everyong legitimately waiting in line. Another reason I left was the lack of prizes. I assumed there was going to be a cash prize, due to the $10 entry fee that I heard about. When nobody took my money after registration, I knew there most likely wouldn't be anything to push myself for. All in all, it could have been a fun event, but the little things ruined it for me. Mabye next year :/

I can get free stuff for me, not enough to sell. I was just curious as to wether he's trying to make a bunch of money off of these or just trying to get rid of them.
-
Considering I could probably get them for free not a whole lot but why don't you give me a price?

Free lift tic from MC with $25. donation

Can you read? Are you just completely inable to comprehend what you read? Nowhere in this thread do I "bash" MC for doing this promotion, I just point out that it's very smart because they stand to make/save a fair bit of money on this. Like it or not, it's a business decision, and a very smart one at that. -
It was pretty wack, in my opinion. I bailed after an hour or so. I'll go into detail later.

for a laugh, here's what I'll be riding tomorrow; That's right. A 148 K2 Fatbob. Who knows what year, probably pre-2000.
-
I guess you missed a lot of my old posts about the park at CB :/ Also, you know this idiot is some guy who goes skiing five times a year and still manages to find the most miniscule thing to bitch and moan about.

Exactly. It's a write-off. Also, they still stand to make a fair bit of money when people get food in the food court, rent skis, etc etc. Don't get me confused, this is awesome and I love seeing stuff like this, it's going to get people to donate to the Red Cross AND get a free pass, but it's also marketing genius on MC's part. -
I HATE LIFT TICKETS BOO HOO I don't get it. I just don't understand how a gaper's mind works.
-
Hmm. Board didn't show up today. Is there a definate time for tomorrow? I need to know if I should wait around for the mail or if I should just bring my ridiculous joke setup.

Genius. For every person who donates $25, MC writes $60 (or however much a adult weekend/holiday pass is) off their taxes. Not saying you shouldn't take advantage of this, but it's a nice little loophole MC is capitalizing on. -
Prove it to me when I come home.

I remember taking laps on Nile without making any unnecessary turns. I suggest having it on a run that would have consequences for straightlining (Rocket? Marjies?)

I'm having a buddy fedex me an acadmey

Sick, what time should I show up?

I'd post my equipment but it all got stolen a week or so ago.
