Good Form

Good Form (4/10)

  1. New Vokls already delivered. UPS guy laughs every time he makes a delivery of ski equipment to my house. Making a special trip north in Sept to have the bindings mounted. In the countdown mode, 4 1/2 months to go for me.
  2. That area goes way back to the 60's when Jersey was dotted with all kinds of small ski areas. Actually, that was one of the larger ones. Amazingly, it's held on all these years while most of the others faded away; ie Snowbowl (on the site of Jefferson Twsp HS), Belle Mt outside of Trenton, Peapack, and many others. The smallest ones had minimal vert and rope tows but for $1.00 tickets, they were great places to hit every nite after supper instead of watching TV. Good times.
  3. It's a shame what happened to the Pocs since the late '80s.
  4. Hey,I know it's hotter than a rattlesnake's ass out there (up north too) but in about 18 weeks, they should be blowing snow in the Pocs. PAX
  5. Anybody get over to see this fiasco they built in the Meadowlands yet. Their website says they have a 800' slope for year-round skiing and riding serviced by a chairlift. Kinda short for skiing but it is an opportunitey to get some runs in in the heat of the summer.
  6. SOS - I have to head back south to work and you guys get an 8" dumping. Sux to be me I guess.
  7. If you keep this up, you may be named the new "Dawn Patroller".
  8. Thanks for the info. I'll start to do some research. Hope to see y'all in January when I head north for the winter.
  9. I'd say I'm looking for an all mt ski. Too old to do "park" but got into doing the bumps last year. Presently riding Solomon Tornados (163). Would be looking for something in the same approximate length with a pronounced turned up tail.
  10. Looking to pick up a new pair of skis when I head north this season. Would like to go with "twin tips". Any suggestions as to a good set for use in the banana belt area we know as PA. PAX
  11. WARNING !!! Do not read this post (initial story) when you first wake up while waiting for the coffee pot to finish. :=))
  12. Great Gorge was good in it's day back in the 60's, early 70's. Decent terrain and the snow making wasn't all that bad. Went to hell when it merged with Vernon Valley.
  13. Anyone have the inside scoop on the mountain adventure thing at CB that's supposed to open in 2 weeks? I've done zip lines and ride a segway in work . Looks like they're going all out to make off season something other than just a water park. P.S. It's hot down here, how many more days til the lifts start turning again??
  14. You'll have to come to CB for the jambalaya.
  15. Ski 911 is OK. Wish I had his skiing ability. I'll have to have him give me some bark shaving lessons next season when I get up there. Maybe I can even get him to sample my jambalaya next season. PAX everyone!
