Yeah, you get free golf for life on the executive courses when you can get a tee time. Otherwise, you pay extra big bucks for one of the 2 CC's on property.

As bizarre as it may sound, we're skiing in Dixie. Was just checking out projected opening dates for North Carolina and come to find out three areas are already open and have been skiing for a couple of days. Go figure. Road trip?? PAX

Big weather story down here is an offshore low developing Monday or Tuesday bringing us high winds and rain before it moves up the coast. Could be a N'oreaster heading your way. PAX

That's just it, it's all projections. Old man winter has the final say. It's got to be cold enough to make snow and then stay cold enough to maintain it. All you can do is hope for the best when you ski in the banana belt !

They never think of snow where I live. It's a cold day in hell if it snows here.

You can't sign away your right to sue and if you look at the papers, people sue for the dumbest reasons, i.e: cigarettes, alcohol, firearms, and on and on and on. Juries are strange and you never know when an exorbinant award will be given so these ski areas have to carefull. Everyone wants something for nothing these days and see an accident as a payday. PAX

I guess I'm safe to park up front this year when I finally make it up.

I still remember they used to try to make it to Easter and tried to make it a "spring break" place to be.

Backside is state forest land. More importantly, it has a southern exposure. Not conducive for banana belt skiing. I think Bolton in VT is the only ski area in the east with a southern exposure.

Maybe punishment since I live where it's mostly in the 70's and 80's during the winter months and that's what the body is used to (pessimist's view) or a reward for forsaking the warm and sun for the cold and snow (optimist's view). Anyway, someone's gonna owe me a drink. Remember, he who arrives earliest parks closest regardless.

The hell with that rodent and the weathermen. I'm heading north next Tuesday and the snow gods are going to punish me for showing up with a tan by bringing on bitter cold temps and a couple of snow dumps while I'm there. Don't believe me, check last years weather during the same time period plus the snow storms while I was there and right after I left. Someone owes me a Margarita when it happens. P.S.
