  1. Man, you never say "much older", especially if she's capable of beating you in a race. BTW, plan on being there in Feb, when do these races take place?? PAX
  2. Too old at this stage to get crazy again. (Bad knees). But, I bet it would be fun.
  3. Hey man, glad you're out of the hospital and on the mend. DO NOT LET ANYONE RUSH YOU BACK ONTO THE SLOPES!! Better to recuperate this year and get back out next season in top form. Right Skimom?? You're gonna be a little fragile for a while and don't want to reinjure yourself. PAX
  4. I'd love to be there to witness this!!!
  5. Is cheese being served with this wine???
  6. Easy there Skimom!!
  7. Plenty of parking in that lot Monday thru Fridays. The upper lot usually doesn't fill up until about 11:30AM. Sounds more like a weekend/ holiday problem than anything else. BTW, did you ever notice that at WDW, the employees park in a lot closest to the front of the park while the guests ride a tram in!
  8. Way to go "dude"!!! And to think I was crazy enough to challenge you last season. WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!! PAX
  9. I guess that just about says it all. PAX
  10. If the management of the ski school hasn't changed, I'd agree with you skidude. He'd be history real fast. The quickest way to lose your "ski free" privilleges (sic) is to jerk around in a CB jacket.
  11. If you want to end a lot of this, push to have the park moved to the other side of the mountain by the Rhodo park. It would be out of the way and tucked in an area usually not frequented by the people that rent at Slopeside. Most of the problem with the little kids in the park are that while mom and dad are having a nooner, they tell the kids to stay in the park close to the condo. I've had words with lots of small ones in the park that obviously didn't belong there and when asked where mom or dad were got the story they were having lunch at the condo. And if you have words with the parents, you get the attitude that they payed for a lift ticket and can use any part of the mountain. The park is just too close to the rental units. IT SHOULD BE MOVED!!! PAX
  12. I wonder if they're still toying with the idea of replacing the Mark lift with a HS quad??
  13. Not that I'll see any flakes here but it is cold in Margaritaville this morning. Had the heat on in work last nite. Temps in the low to mid 40's. Went from summer to winter in a matter of hours.
  14. Hit one of the lesser used runs on a night with a light snow falling and pull off to the side. Just listen to the quiet. It's amazing how peaceful and calming it is. Kind of like back country skiing. When you can hear the snow falling, you know you're there. Then someone comes bombing down the trail and ruins the moment committing "calmus interruptus". PAX
  15. Don't know what happened here??
  16. Hurricanes are warm cored, nor'easters bring tons of snow ! At least in the winter they do. PAX
  17. ROCKET They even tried it there last February.
  18. How's the knee holding up Racerchick?? I opted out of the cartiledge surgery for rehab instead. Not too bad, only hurts when I do certain things. Will have to wait till the snow flies before I know if I made the right decision. PAX
  19. Just look back to the winter of '02/03. Same basic prediction. We opened the first week of December that season and ended up closing the following weekend for a torrential thunderstorm. After that, the season ran great right up to the last week of March . PAX
  20. Was sitting in work last evening bored to death and pulled up the new almanac on the internet courtesy of AOL. They're predicting a "POLAR COASTER"( their words not mine) for the north east this year with colder than average temperatures with numerous snow storms. The down side will be temperature swings from bitter cold to warm spells. Should make for an interesting season. I guess winter is on it's way. PAX
  21. Where ya been Skidude??? Welcome back to the board.
  22. They look for at least two days per week( your choice of days) for the entire season. Weekends are pretty well staffed on Saturday and Sunday during the day but they're always looking for someone to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Weekends are hectic with a lot of time spent doing traffic control at the scene of accidents and trail condition reports. Weekdays are the best days to work if you can swing it. Lighter crowds and more ski time. If you're serious, you can contact the head of the program at Camelbeach to get the ball rolling. There is a training course you have to attend before the season kicks off.
  23. Volunteer at CB going on 5 yrs now. Some of the users of this board and I have had the pleasure of good times together at CB. And maybe, just maybe, I may have had contact with some of the others but I can tell you if a red marker was used, it was the last resort and definetly deserved. I treat the skiers and boarders I interact with with respect and hopefully get the same in return. If you're serious about becoming a ranger, that's the way to go. Treat others as you want to be treated and be prepared to turn the other cheek. Now I'm afraid I've opened myself to the slings and arrows.
