National parks charge a fee. State parks could too. Remember when the hoards from NJ/NY where over running the local parks and they had to close them on weekends. It's the same in the state parks close to the Delaware.

They spend more money on commuting and going through cars than they save on the house in PA. Never mind the cost of commuting time and mental health. They save nickel and spend a dime.

He doesn't need a skier. He just needs to meet someone who lets him ski.

Whatever you do, Salty. don't use the free sights. Unless you want to meet hookers and Russian women looking for a green card or your credit card. Pay up for Match or eHarmony and learn how to evaluate any responses get. You don't need needy women or baby mommas on welfare.

You need to get out of Hazleton if you want to improve your chances of finding a girl with an education, teeth, isn't in section 8 housing, and isn't already a Baby Mama with a nowhere to found Baby Daddy.

That's why I said you probably know the figures but most people don't run the numbers themselves and have no idea when they're getting a bad deal. The low buyout rate is also a reason that BMW's are such a deal on the used market. They're generally low mileage, well maintained cars and they're like cat shit. They're all over the place because of the low buy out percentage.

Sorry, Did all that thinking make your head explode?

I won't get into the argument but all of those conveniences are not free. If you feel that they are worth paying for no one can argue with you. I bet you know this but I would bet a lot more that most people do not know what price for the car and what residual and interest rate were factored into the lease. I would bet that most were screwed on all three and thought they got a great deal. TP4 would likely know how that works but I bet he wouldn't be willing to be totally honest about it. Car dealers make more off of leases than financing or cash purchases. So if they make more money how does the consumer also get the best and least cost deal?.....They don't.

You would be surprised how many of your friends have CC balances. Just look at the national average. And how many lease their cars? The most expensive way to not own a car.
-
I have a friend with a fairly decent credit card balance at a high percentage rate telling me how he gets "free" airline miles. With what he pays in interest every year he could pay for a whole trip out west not just the airfare with restrictions. Never borrow money for things that depreciate. And yes that includes a car.

Wow. $1.00. Don't spend it all in one place.

"Last week, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention started recommending homemade face masks as a “crisis response” option for health-care workers, saying that items such as bandanas and scarves could be used in place of more official gear like surgical masks as a “last resort.” While fabric masks aren’t as effective as an N95 mask or disposable surgical masks, Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Rachel Levine said in a news conference on Tuesday that they may be “better than nothing.”

Depends on how much they raised it and if the price was raised to them. Either way, if people are reporting neighbors doing lawn work someone will report to the AG for price gouging.

The sign is definitely an example of ignorance. But one reason resort areas don't want second homeowners coming to social distance is that the hospitals in those areas are usually small with few beds and not well equipped to handle the volume that could be experienced by the increase population. Metropolitan hospitals are much better equipped to handle a surge in cases.

Other ski areas are extending their discount pass deadlines. I'm sure Blue will follow. I wouldn't worry about buying a pass now. My company is still open. We support essential industries. Went hiking last weekend and made a list of "all those things you're always meaning to get to but never do" and am knocking them out one at a time. So far put new drawer guides on a bureau and replaced belt on spare vacuum. Parts were bought online. Next up, I have a shoe box full of photos from the film days that are still in the envelopes they were returned in. Starting to put them in an album.

The governor shut down the back country to avoid injuries taking valuable hospital capacity. Don't know how much it can or will be enforced.

That didn't work out so well for them. Britains about face on corona virus policy

But what do you do when they close your hotel house due to lack of people traveling? Where do you go? Cardboard box under a bridge?

What people don't realize is; This is not about "getting" it. It is about not spreading it. We're all going to be exposed to it at some point. It's about slowing the spread so the health care system is not overloaded to the point where they have to choose who to treat and who to let wait. Wait until it is possibly too late to help them. Bringing a two year around because you're "bored"? I think they are more stupid than bored.
-
That has to do with they are testing more for it now. When they were only testing a few people a day of course they weren't finding that many cases. There are many more cases out there than have been "found".
-
You know you can buy Depends so you don't do that. I'm pretty sure they have them in extra large. That is if they weren't all sold with the toilet paper.
-
Not really. They're just consolidating people at the larger resorts and hurting the independent areas.

On Southwest you get an extra bag with certain sports equipment including skis. So you get to check three bags. I usually do boot bag with helmet, ski pants, etc., ski bag, and suitcase. I carry on my briefcase if I'm combining a trip with work. If you fly Southwest set an alarm to remind you to check in exactly 24 hrs. in advance so you get a low boarding number. ( No seat assignments on Southwest.)

It's not uncommon in Europe to start at one place and end your day miles away at another. You put your shoes in the backpack not in a lodge or your car. And like Toast said, a shovel, beacon, and a probe if you're going off piste as they say in Europe.
