  1. I hope you get some good snow at Magic but they're only open Friday thru Sunday so I hope one of your weekdays off is Friday. The new owners have been making a lot of improvements. They likely won't get the Black replacement installed this year but they say the green will be running.
  2. It's getting discovered but still pretty empty on weekdays.
  3. If you get to Utah hit up Powder Mountain before the masses discover it. Never been to Snowbasin so i'd like to get there.
  4. In today's society tattoos are fashion. And fashion changes. Just look at the styles in some ten year old photos. Glasses, hair styles, clothes all change. Tattoos are forever. Not to mention body sizes change as you age so the tattoo you got today will look like a blob in 20 years or less. Tattoo removal is going to be big business in the future. I've been looking for a tattoo removal system to invest in. They haven't invented a good one yet.
  5. Most car salesmen & women wear polo shirts with the dealer emblem on them nowadays. Looks much better than those wearing cheap ties that are loose around the neck. And often less intimidating to customers. Your company should get with the 90's. 😉
  6. That's actually a T-bar that they will be installing. Not a chair.
  7. Subaru Forester is available in a stick.
  8. Just get a Subaru Outback. Subaru has the best all wheel drive system and I don't anyone who's had maintenance problems with Subaru's. I've had 3 and put over 200k miles on each with mainly basic maintenance.
  9. Do you know which thread this is, Mr. Tombstone?
  10. Lost Tavern's beer is much better than Proper's. Been to Proper twice and their beer, while not "bad", is not that good.
  11. I was there Friday. Snowed 4" while we were there. Skiing was great and the place was empty.
  12. Check their conditions or call before you go. I was there last week. Some trails were good but they closed Cannonball as a stream was undermining the snow. Most trails had really thin snow cover. It did look like they still had some fan guns set up but I don't know how they'll make out with this rain.
  13. Just bought one. $14.50 with $2 service fee. I'll be there tomorrow.
  14. Magic is a great mountain. I hit it earlier this month when conditions were great. I imagine the base is a little thin and wet right now. The new owners have made significant improvements in a short period of time. They got the Black lift running and were working on the Green lift when the lift mechanic who was doing the work died. They said it will be running next year. It will serve the east side about 3/4 up the mountain.
  15. GSS is stuck in the 90's. Magic has new owners who have been making improvements to the facilities with the primary focus on snowmaking. They will still have a lot of natural only trails but will open in December and go as long as they can into spring. You seem like the kind of person who will love the place and the regulars there.
  16. Wizard can be tough in spots. I'm guessing that they didn't want to groom to preserve snow for the weekend. Most of the trails are natural snow trails only.
  17. Go to Magic tomorrow.
  18. I've seen Blue blow snow the day before they closed. I think they close no matter what when they start using the lodge for weddings.
  19. Was there last night from 4:30 to 7:30. Snowed the whole time. Snow was good but the visibility a little flat. Run of the night was Main Street. The snow was laying in there as opposed to getting blown off most of the other trails.
  20. Deals at Elk are hard to come by. For weekdays the best deal is to use the $5 coupon at SkiPA. The township tickets are something like $3 off. Not really worth the effort. SkiPA coupon
  21. +1. I've been saying that for years. It would help with cutting down the lines for the sixpack and traffic on the upper trails as well. A lot of kids just want to ride park but now they have to go all the way to the top and scrape down the trails all the way to the park. Just put in a handle tow or carpet and let them ride park.
  22. This is a major misconception about Magic. Half of Magic is really nice green and blue cruisers. There's very little traffic on the trails so you don't have to worry about them getting run over. Go. I guarantee you won't regret it. Your wife and son will probably love it.
  23. Go to Magic Friday. It's off the hook and won't be crowded on Friday.
  24. The switch to skis is even more prevalent out west and in New England. With the advent of wider skis for powder skiing, and popularity of tree skiing, skis are the better option.
  25. Ski Blue Knob. Blows Camelback away.
