  1. They may be still be available through the ski clubs.
  2. I would have thought they would have been more likely to spell "Belleayre" wrong.
  3. Blue has a great snowmaking system. It's a shame that their grooming sucks.
  4. Read the link I attached. It outlines the master plan. They plan to do the same as they did for Laurel Mountain and find an operator to lease the ski operations. The same company that runs Seven Springs runs Laurel Mountain. I've always wanted to ski Denton. Looks like a cool place in a remote area. Problem is I can be in VT in the time it takes to get to Denton.
  5. They also own Denton Hill http://dcnr.state.pa.us/cs/groups/public/documents/document/dcnr_20033012.pdf
  6. Thanks for correcting the info and keeping the rumors quelled, KC. It appears that latest management team is doing a good job and the mountain is on a sustainable plan for the future.
  7. That gondola and it's placement is the biggest waste of money I ever saw at a ski area. I guess that's what happens when it's state run. A privately owned mountain would spend that money much more wisely. I wonder what state official is getting a kickback on that gondola installation? Someone has to be because it makes no sense at all as far as improving the ski experience.
  8. Knock, knock, knock......Open up! IRS here.
  9. You skied Loveland???? I guess no one told you they don't have any high speed lifts?
  10. Your a day late. Heading to Gore tomorrow. Leaving early this afternoon. I have a B1G1 but several in my group do not. Like skiing in VT without the crowds.
  11. Here's a map of the railroads in Catasaqua. The LNE line is where the tunnel in your photo is.
  12. The train in the photo is a Lehigh Valley train and is heading south. The CNJ ran on the other side of the river. I believe the house in the photo is the Lehigh Gap Nature Center building now. The road on the other side of the river is 248.
  13. The line through Danielsville was the Lehigh and New England RR not the Lehigh Valley RR. The bridge in the background of your photo is the Lehigh and New England RR crossing the Lehigh River to where the Lehigh Gap Nature is now. You can still see the bridge abutments there. Some of the trails in the nature center are the old right of way.
  14. Thinking of heading up after work today. Anybody skiing today please post a report on conditions. I don't mind skiing on "wet" snow but if the mashed potatoes are too bad I might pass on skiing today.
  15. I always used a soft bag and never had a problem.
  16. The Republicans hate universal health care even more than the ACA. Until we get the money out of politics that's never going to happen. Look at our totally unqualified so-called Education Secretary. She bought that position.
  17. I was confused thinking you were getting on 78 East. 78 West and 309N run together up to where they split past 222. I would just call it 309N to 22E since you stay on 309 when it splits to 22.
  18. Why do you get on 78 from 309 to go to Blue?
  19. Cool pic, Barb. But I liked the cougar pic that you posted the other day better.
  20. Good deal. Thanks for posting.
  21. Razors and Razorback are listed as open. Planning to head up after work. Any reports from today appreciated.
  22. Thanks for the report. I'll be there on Friday. An update on conditions on Thursday would be great.
  23. Greek Peak opening Friday. http://greekpeak.net/new-york-ski-resorts/hours-operation
  24. The WNEP Card gets worse every year and the price stays the same. I could use Gore, Shawnee, and Big Bear but not a great deal at that price. The ski club Pocono Card has Shawnee and Big Bear and I have a deal for Smuggs. If they still had JF/BB and Montage it might be worth it. It used to have Greek Peak too. Doubt they sell out this year. If they end up dropping the price later in the season it might be worth it to get it just for Gore depending on the price.
