  1. um....i haven't been outside yet. but that's at least 12 inches on my patio furniture. the wind is really moving the goods around. my guess is somewhere between 8 and 10 inches on the ground.
  2. Backyard is a bit more protected from the wind. Getting good accumulation.
  3. Wind is a bit stiff. Cars are buried. Gonna start shoveling after 8am.
  4. looks like the groomers are out right now....derp.
  5. be safe! it looks nasty out there right now.
  6. those look like sharks rather than whales, lol!
  7. yeah, and this is why I want to get out there tomorrow but i'm not certain the roads will be passable. at least the trees should be in play on sunday!
  8. sweet....
  9. that's a lot of drinking, lol!
  10. it's not gonna matter b/c they will just groom all that snow into the base.
  11. who says you always need to ski fast?
  12. sasquatch....that's about it.
  13. here's hoping! it would be nice to not drive far to get tons of freshies.
  14. this makes me laugh b/c growing up in Hazleton I saw the same stuff there. glad I was able to escape the black hole that is NEPA.
  15. ^^this is why they should replace the current LH with a HSQ. even then, it's not technically TTB skiing, but darn close enough. I really like the combo of upper fast track to lower fast track. I can't think of a single run in PA like that combo.
  16. the euro hasn't be all that accurate this winter.
  17. cheaper lift tix, low crowds, different terrain, etc.
  18. I do what I can
  19. $29 morning session with uncrowded slopes, not a bad deal for MLK weekend. we arrived at the lodge about 8am and headed out. the guns were blazing all day on the upper mtn. snow was a bit grabby in places with a very firm hard pack underneath. the north face trails were open but very firm: def req'd that you pay attention to where and when you could turn to avoid sliding for life. bumps on boomer were fairly hard, so we only did them once. we took two laps down white lightening. the snow on wl was firm and chalky. smoke headwall was just crazy ice. we also ran the gates; i somehow managed to squeak out a bronze metal. we wrapped things up just after 1 or so and got celebratory beers at the lodge.
  20. as a friend once told me, "tubing, for the truly talentless". after reading that article i really can't believe this dude won the lawsuit. smh.
  21. this weekend's storm should help fill it in!
  22. the big difference at blue is the trail and lift layout. when blue mtn closes razor's edge, it only affects that one trail. all the other "expert" terrrain is accessible and the percentage of skiable acreage available to the general public is not greatly diminished.
  23. oh, yeah....you and i saw that from the lift. that was a very crazy day. maybe she could have sued, lol!
  24. ^^ this. it was totally aweful when they started to do this last season. we complained numerous times to the race coach and management that closing off Floyd's unfairly limits the amount of expert terrain available to the public. also, the team frequently kept the trail closed well into the afternoon, after there training was done. very poor form. the mtn should really offer a discount on the lift tix the days the racers are on that trail.
  25. it was, and apparently quite herbal as well.
