they didn't switch trails. the races are still held on challenge. they run practice gates on Floyd's b/c the jfbb team kids were complaining that they couldn't compete when they ski at blue mtn b/c razor's is much steeper than challenge.
-
the racer's strike again! once again, challenge and Floyd's were roped off due to the race rats doing their thing. east mtn was again down to one trail (if you don't count the little 12ft wide portion of solitude they didn't close). in addition, both the boy scouts and the girl scouts were there...so that made parking and the base lodge a mess. we opted to pay $10 for up close parking to avoid walking in from east jabbip. anyhow, snow as good. bumps on exhibition were starting to get nice. one park and t-bolt glades were a bit thin. packed it in a little early to grab some suds in the world famous e2000 lounge. good times had by all.

yeah, she was just on the edge of the elevator when jfskidan and I saw her getting boarded up. she's lucky she didn't slide off the edge, lol.

tinymoose and I haven't been there yet this season. it really sucks that they shortened their midweek evening hours, kinda makes us to not want to go there midweek b/c we can't get there until 7 anyhow.....paying $35 or so for 2.5 hours is really steep for PA.

most ppl don't know they have the adult racing clinic b/c it is buried deep in that website (they also do a weds morning adult clinic). they didn't have razorback roped off, but they should have b/c on a few occasions we had random ppl blasting through our course and what not. we warmed up on paradise and that was in good shape. lazy mile was pretty decent, except where sidewinder park intersects, but that's pretty typical. didn't get to ski much of anything else. ETA: it's an all levels clinic. we have ppl like me who have zippo racing experience and we have ex-college level racers. it's a good mix of ppl. sometimes we split into groups, but we're mostly grouped together.

so, tinymoose and I are taking the Tuesday nite adult racing clinic this season. overall it's been really good for us, but last nite takes the cake. with all this warm weather and rain, conditions were sugar on boiler plate. this week they set up a gs course on razor back.....and the upper part of the course was boiler plate, not fun. everyone had issues with it and the instructors had to change up the first two gates slightly to make it more manageable. I think next week they are going to set up a slalom course. anyhow, it's good times had by all.

No, the RFID tag is not tagged to a person until that person sets up an online account.

so i few years ago i found this website that had color coded the pitches of each slope at various ski resorts across the world. now, they added in a google earth plugin so you can see the color coded pitches and have the full functionality of google earth. pretty neat if you ask me. here's the link if you want to geek out. http://3dtrailmaps.com/

by this time last year we had already bought our $25 jfbb lift tix....so i'm getting concerned that they may not be doing them again this year....womp womp.

Spend as much as you can afford on boots....skimp on other pieces of gear if you have to.
