-
hit the upper 40's last nite in SEPA, flurries on Whiteface, good news for a monday morning!
-
picked up the skybox today....looks great on the suby. pic to follow....now we just need some snow!
-
hitting up bc weekly, pretty sure we're going to okemo in january, and possibly a week out west someplace....we'll see what happens!
-
i think these are very similar to last year. we're def renewing our passes this season. thanks saurus!
-
upgrading from the ski rack to a ski box. i was eyeing up one on craigslist, but we ended up finding a yakima skybox 12 on sale at REI. it's on backorder...(approx 3 wks to arrival) but that's ok, no skiing yet.
-
finally got around to waxing the skis....well, more like just doing the hot wax scraping to clean out the bases. better late than never, right?
-
see my previous post RE: how accuweather is a fickle bitch....
-
i think i'm good for most of my big ticket items....although i'm thinking about changing out the liners in my boots. ordered some waxing and tuning stuff. we should start thinking about the PASR drinking nite again ....
-
i've seen pics of k-mart from 8/5 that show the leaves changing. They were posted on www.killingtonzone.com (i think).

accuweather is a fickle bitch....

-
word on the kutztown tavern. def a good beer selection...and good soft pretzels there as well
-
i don't think the image posted right...i can't see it. although i saw it on facebook and it looks promising....
-
Few and far between, unfortunately. and to think last season i had the most ski days ever (for me)...i actually didn't mind having all of BC to myself just wish they would have blown more snow.
-
just good french fries they should really concentrate on having awesome beer.
-
correction - most skiers who ski during prime times and at prime locations aren't middle class.
-
ya, i'm waiting with baited breath for this winter. we'll get what we'll get, but i just hope it's descent for skiing!
-
i actually like the classier vibe at bc for a couple reasons. first, it gives bc an edge to compete for business. obviously bc doesn't have a tremendous amount of terrain so they need to stand out in other areas. second, while i do go to a mtn primarily for the terrain, i do like a more up to date facility...for me it helps to complete a more satisfactory experience. (i love elk's terrain but i really don't like their base lodge area.)
-
but they didn't do that this year. they waited way too long to start blowing, even on "a few trails". word, that's a great little trail. just long enough to connect a few turns on a decent pitch.

mo' moguls! i need the practice

sweet....

i dunno...we only got 2 or 3 inches (officially, not counting that halloween storm) down here. the average in philly is around 20 inches with average temps being in the high 30's, low 40's. we had really below average winter...at least in SEPA.
-
i agree....this summer def hasn't been as bad as last (not to mention it seems to be flying by for me!). although, mrs. guitar73 saw a long range winter forecast and it didn't look too promising for PA and the catskills...but a little better for northern VT. gotta take that with a grain of salt, or maybe even the whole salt shaker, lol. last year's long range winter forecast had us with an average winter. we all know that was full of s***....

lol on that roof idea...it's money! the only thing that i can think of as a realistic improvement is the snowmaking strategy. it's my impression that bc's snow base really suffered b/c of the late start on the serious snowmaking. bc really needs to hit that snowmaking early to get that insulating base layer down.
