i've been looking at generators ever since we moved into our house. i'd like to get one of those natural gas generators, but i really don't have a ton of space in my back yard. a full-house generator would be nice, but all we really need is enough power to supply our boiler's circulating pump & maybe our refridgerator.

hopefully the investor is from out of town and has many other resorts in its portfolio so it can absorb the losses incurred by montage mtn. and I say out of town b/c they need someone with a different mentality than those who have run montage in the past.

having a good time checking out the webcams from k-mart, mt snow, windham, hunter, et al. i really do love seeing snow on the ground....i really love skiing the snow on the ground even more!

we finally got our power back. we were just about ready to break out our ski clothes to stay warm

we're still w/o power.... 422 was a mess. def a few cars in the ditch or against the guide rails. we're doing it old skool here w/ the oil lamps & board games, lol! and the kicker is that the peeps across the street have power...grrr

....and we lost power. grrreeeeaat....

our power has been flickering on & off....lovely

we have about 1/4" in the back yard.....still snowing pretty hard

this morning on the news I saw that the lehigh valley may get some wet snow this weekend....winter's a coming

it was 42 deg this morning! the chill is coming

i looked at the alphabetical list at the bottom of the page and didn't see PASR there. did they remove our group? i've been trying to login and keep getting "login failed"....

@Ride... I grew up in NEPA. anyone who's from that area knows that there is widespread corruption up there. I'm not saying that there is that kind of activity going on, only that I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that way. @kcski... thanks for the breakdown. the times-leader/tribune def aren't the pillars of journalism...so it doesn't suprise me that they use their newspaper status to complain about stuff that doesn't go their way. ya for the drive-by media

i find it really puzzling why montage mtn struggles.....it's always crowded there (which is the main reason i tend to not go there anymore), so it's not like they aren't selling tickets. they must really poor at managing their funds, or someone's skimming from the top. given that this is near scranton, i think the latter is more than plausable..... just my two cents.

@Johnny Law & GSS....totally agree plus those are good trails to get away from the crowds

this has always been my pet peeve of all ski areas......putting in these short little connectors and calling them trails just to bump up their trail count and acreage......totally has nothing to do with how the mtn actually skis

also, i think their rating little gap a green/ beginer trail may lead to some big problems b/c to access the trail you need to ski down the top portion of midway, which is definately no beginner slope. i can just see it now...loads of newbies ending up in the woods b/c they pick up too much speed and don't know how to stop. maybe blue mtn should consider opening up their own regional medical center to handle all the accidents that happen there.....

usually it is roped off, but towards the end of last season all the times i was at blue the trail was not roped off.....

ya, that little gap trail was definetly open last season.....and it's been their for a while, so i wouldn't call it "new"

something tells me that peeps on this site (and others) don't quite fit that demographic
