Now if that isn't the face of a drunken skier, I don't know what is...
-
I've skied at Blue before, and I don't recommend it to people... go figure.

I don't care what track we use for BoarderX, it'd be cool anywhere... hell, nile would work for me and I bash people so that they can prove me wrong. keep in mind, I don't take things at face... I'd love to take some bumps with anyone around. -
Shadows got hurt on Nile, which is double green--but in some spots I'd say it's got more pitch than raceway(the bottom, really) If someone hits me, thats what I'm worried about. I get so edgy and scared when I ride(as I'm still new to riding) that I take a shot or two... I don't even get a buzz off of that. It's not like I am skiing drunk(though I have done that in Killington each time I've gone.) at Camelback. I wouldn't recommend anyone ski/ride drunk... but I know what my limits are and I don't push them on marked trails in the Pocono's

I took a crack at ski racers being unable to comprehend the term "switch" jokes dude, jokes. -

hey shadows, I heard you like to make boingboing with trees... care to confirm this alleged act of tree rape? -
I drink and ride all the time. I never drink and drive, however... When I'm drinking, I tend to stick to greens and blues. Always when they are empty. There is a VAST difference in having a few beers and being fall down drunk, though... at least for me. Who knows, who cares. I know a LOT of locals that spend time in the bar before going back out and riding/skiing... it's not just the weekend crowd. And name this "beer league" I'll be there with bells on--and my swerve on. and THERE it is.

All of the trails that would be good for racing all happen to be amongst the most popular and heavily traveled, which is why you don't get to close them... and I can't say I disagree with everyone being able to ski/ride everywhere... I was some sort of snowboard program at CB. I definately wanna take a crack at BoarderX!!! and if they has a Xtraining track, I'd also race that on ski's. THAT would be hardcore! -

I spend part of my summers heli skiing in Alaska... usually not very long, but at least a week a year. Through that, I have come up with a couple of ideas... 1. Trails are for wimps. 2. If you can't break every bone in your body, you aren't pushing hard enough. 3. Nature doesn't groom trails 4. Once you take the NATURE aspect out of skiing, it becomes synthetic and boring 5. Noone but you cares what your vertical is for this, or any season Most importantly: On First descents, noone knows how far, fast, or how much vertical you got--but there is a HUUUUUUGE difference in being the first person to make a descent down the face of a mountain in Alaska and getting first in NASTAR... You do it for medals, I do it to keep from killing people like you. I think Papasteeze has the right idea... he's pushing his kids to follow their dreams, funding those dreams, making them do the work it takes to reach those goals--but at the same time, he realizes that after all the money and work and driving and injury and work and money and money and money and work--the odds are, his kids will never be professionals. Does that mean that he doesn't keep pushing them, or that they don't keep working? Hell no!!! In the end, it's the pursuit that was really fun. What do you do once you reach the top? Nothing. At a certain point, if you don't have fun with it, it will consume you. I would rather have a good time and take dead last, than to have a crappy time and win a gold medal.

I've got friends who blow snow.
-
It opened earlier, but I mean... rhodo kinda sucks, too. Laurel is spread out and long enough that it could be SOOOOOOOO much better. P.S. Cameltoe is open on Friday--all--YEA *ALL* picture passes are valid from now until CB closes--even weekends--even employee and college and elderly passes... even the sun-fri passes, for whatever 2 days or so are left... CB is also blowing snow when the temps drop... hopefully they can blanket the 18 trails they will have open with a foot or so of snow, I mean, it IS going to be 20 degrees, and snowing anyway.

I would NEVER cheer for the Steelers. They have enough refs on their side. Bode Miller is a skier... skiing is a sport, a hobby, etc... it's chess on 2 planks strapped to your feet. It's just a game, dude.
-
Rhodo spent as much time closed as it did open. I like the ride on features of Laurel, because I am learning... not everything needs to be ride-on however... for instance, if the box is ride-on, yet drops off about 5 feet at the end... do you really think that noobs should be able to ride-on? I don't.

I'm several times over a national champion, and twice world champion youth wrestler who blew his body apart and can't compete anymore. I know all about passion and watching my weight and not eating junk food... I can honestly say that I never had a drink in the entire time I was involved in the sport. Not a single time. In short, I know what passion is, and I know all about not being out and partying EVER, not just before a race. My favorite sports team is the Kansas City Chiefs, which I think are a GREAT analogy for Bode... See, the Chiefs are always awesome during the regular season... they usually play pretty good(not for a few years, but still) all the way up until the AFC championship game, when they blow it to the Steelers or the Chargers or the Broncos(the year the broncos won the superbowl, no less) But I always cheer for the Chiefs. No matter how many times Tony Gonzales beats up his girlfriend or gets a drug charge, or whatever... no matter how many times they lose, or get into fights... or... DRINK UNTIL AN HOUR BEFORE A GAME!!! Your analogy is really insulting, in that you assume I know nothing about passion for skiing... I am VERY passionate about it, which is why I defend someone who does it for fun--even at Bode's level. He's out having a good time. What the hell good is having money and being young if you aren't spending the money and being young?
-
I wouldn't say that... actually, I've heard it's like 10 grand to even fire up the compressor to blow snow, so it might be.

They put that there to teach people to ski bumps, all season they had one of the front four bumped up... Rocket at first, followed by Asp later in the season... neither was much of a challenge for me... Asp seemed a lot harder, with the double fall line. -

Umm... hey bud, you are a Ski Intructor at Camelback? Perhaps YOU were skiing today, but I sat on my ass at home because: a. the MOUNTAIN WAS CLOSED b. camelback didn't blow enough snow to keep my area open this late in the season So lets focus on the real issues at hand... the fact that Camelback is closed this week to preserve snow is a DIRECT result of not blowing snow every day they had a chance. I've gone north and I've gone out west and seen them blowing snow IN A FREAKIN BLIZZARD. There is a reason that people stay open later than Camelback, lack of snow blown is that very reason. -

Actually, the snowmakers need them, the groomers need them... I agree, if you are referring to trails that noone is grooming or blowing on. I saw the lights on the other night on Blues website at like 2am, though easy bud... don't wanna re-break anything
