that guy went up for a transition from another trail and came down on top of a tree and ate shit. he had that top part that his board had clipped off and was acting stupid, covered in snow... looked like he smashed his face though. had to have sucked.
-
what size is said board?

I know I always down a six pack after about 10 runs... then a sixer... 10 runs... sixer... then I go to Nile Mile and ski into Shadows and run away.

I'm glad this person is okay. -
I'll be headed up to tha Back today--probably in about 30 minutes. Perhaps I will run one of you off of the trail. Here's hopin we meet... HEAD ON!

no problem. I can remove a bra with 2 fingers. Panties with 2 fingers as well. I'm also pretty good at removing them with clothes on, but if she wants to lose all her clothes that might help as well. As for riding the lift up and assisting, I'm definately FOR that idea.

I think that if you donate some of your thongs, it might push us over the top with the snow gods... of course, I'll need to inspect them to make sure they are "regulation"

yea, I stay as long as I can when I go... I don't have many days off. now I have a week, trying to take advantage of them. I think I'll sit today out and check it tomorrow and Thursday before going back to work. I took a nasty fall on the Pocono Run, and Raceway was pretty much COMPLETELY covered in ice--and some sand, it looked like. Ahh, the white sand beaches of the pocono's

I was up today from 3-10pm... pretty much the first few hours were granular... after that, pure ice. I had to leave. I can't handle the ice.
-
I found a package to White Face in NY for like 249, ski and stay for 3-4 days. I might have to check some other spots out late in the season--maybe Whistler.

they blow snow every day that they are able to blow snow--I don't see how it's a real measure of where their hearts are. people don't put up that kindof money and then not protect the investment.

I heard from several people that the park was closed. I was like

Outer Limits in VT is freakin absurdly awesome. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't moguls created by the people carving down the mountain and leaving piles of snow behind, which instead of being groomed--we blow snow on top of, forming huge bumps? so technically, Camelback just has shitty skiers who have no rhythm? I dunno, I'm not too educated on grooming techniques, but from my limited understanding I'm of the opinion that the bumps tend to have less to do with grooming and more to do with the average carving ability of the people on the run... if we had 6 foot moguls at Camelback, are there even people who could ski them?
-
lol. none of those bumps is taller than 2 feet. how short are you?
-
compared to how Camelback has been in past years, this year is GREAT.

the ones that have snow on them after 10m.

We don't ask for any special pass for people to go down Cliffhanger, either... I mean, it's an "expert only" kind of area... people should be able to determine for themselves if they have what it takes. if they wanna risk their life going into a more dangerous area without the skill, then they should be able to do that. survival of the fittest
-
part of the inherant risks of using the mountain consist of unprotected ledges. I personally like the added personal risk. It makes it more fun to me. I also know that some people love icey conditions... most people, however, do not. And I haven't heard the first timers at Camelback telling others who are potential customers to "pack your food, trust me you'll be glad you did" usually the ones I hear saying things like that are the passholders--the ones who eat ketchup packets after spending their money traveling to other places. The fact remains, this is the Pocono's. It's not the rockies, or any other range. Even if you brought the clientel and the atmosphere of ANY other ski area on the planet--you still have this weather. For that reason alone, perhaps you should consider a move to some other area of the globe where people are ready to lose 100grand in staffing salary for a day, so that 10 people can complain that the hits suck, the trails were icy and had bald spots... and also, lets not forget--"Camelback shouldn't have been open today, the weather was shit" had they been open, they'd have wished they weren't, because people would have talked so much trash it would have negated the purpose of BEING open today--which would be to please those who have no joy in their lives other than a PERFECT WINTER DAY--which we don't have in the Pocono's. And my employment ANYWHERE has little to nothing to do with my opinions on this situation. If I was an freakin School Janitor, I'd have the same opinion as I do now.
-
I didn't say that passholders had no real value. Please point out WHERE I SAID THAT. I'm saying, everyone would have pissed and moaned about today's conditions at Camelback. When someone comes to visit once or twice per year, they only get ONE impression. You don't want that impression to be that Camelback will stay open, regardless of how dangerous and shitty the conditions are. It'd be better to stay closed on a day when few people would have been there, compared to a weekend. I stand by that statement, and I beg someone to refute it. and PS... whoever it was that said CB doesn't care about their customers is full of crap. They definately care about them. Their future depends on it.

I was speaking more from the perspective of someone on the outside. I share no stake in Camelback making a profit. From a pure business standpoint, today was a good day to be closed. Not to mention the conditions that we will have tonight. I understand that season pass holders pay for those passes. Going skiing/riding every day would add up pretty fast... think about 30 bucks for 90 days per year(AT LEAST) your season pass pays for itself within 10 visits. Considering a good portion of you go up there almost every day from 7am to close, I think you probably get your money worth, eh? Consider how much those people who come for just a weekend spend at Camelback... we're talking thousands per family over the course of a full week. Multiply that times the number of families on the slopes and you have serious business. I guess what I am saying, is that they need to preserve the slopes for those who will have 3 days all year to ski/ride... not everyone can BE at Camelback for first tracks and not everyone has enough time/energy to devote to being on a team. Why stay open on a bad day with noone on the mountain(which there really wasn't today) and not spend that time grooming and blowing snow if you get the chance? If they don't take this time now, they might have to take it later--a weekend, perhaps... they lose more business by being closed on a weekend. it's not a "we've got your money already" situation, but I mean honestly... they do have your money. And you DO get rendered services for your money that you spend. I dunno, I guess I'm just not as picky, given the choices we have around these parts.

On ski's, my first run down Outer Limits in VT. On snowboard, making it down the slope for the first time without falling.
