It's on now beeach. You're definitely getting kicked out tomorrow...again! The wife says, radar Gun = Problems with Ski Patrol Personally I think Radar Gun = Trouble, trouble, trouble (Said in a Bernie Mac, Players Club voice) *Holy obscure movie references Batman*

Whatever the shop puts on. Same shop for the last several years with no problems. It's a tough call. I just didn't like the new Slow skiing signs everywhere. Before you used to be able to casually motor down the whole slope to F Chair. Now you really can't. It's an excuse to get a whistle blown at by the ski patrollers, unless that is what you are looking for. There was definitely fresh blown snow. It seemed like they groomed while blowing and then let a little extra blow on top. If the would have mixed it up a bit I think the outcome would have been much better. But, then again I am not a blown snow pro... Hey genius...In my experiance, usually when things melt and then get cold again the conditions are consistant. You know, it melts during the day and ices up at night, repeat. I think this explains the other sweet n low that was fabulous when you weren't on the glue. When we got there it was below freezing, hence their ability to blow, maybe? Do you ride a Burton? Do you go to Bear Creek? No one else had any BBQ? I'm surprised.

The wife and I got there early (8:00 ish) to beat the crowds that never showed up. Thought "wow the trails are perfectly groomed" as we rode the lift up for the first run. We were was sadly disappointed. Almost all of the trails were like skiing on glue with a little bit of sweet n low here or there. It was a typical day of lifties concentrating on their radio's, hot chocolate/coffee, making the double line barely wide enough to fit a single, and sliding along the wood rail at F chair when your supposed to be slowing the lift when people are getting on it. I also noticed that there were several slow skiing signs all over the mountain that I had not seen before. So this pretty much makes Bear Creek a beginners mountain except for 3 or 4 very short trails off of F chair. (not including the parks) If you are thinking about going today and want to ski on glue, today will be perfect for you. It was almost like they groomed and made slow snow to keep things slow on the mountain. Who knows... Look at the trail map on the web site and the amount of cars on the map in the lodge parking lots are a pretty close count to the cars that were in the lot when we left at 10:30 ish. I was surprised to only see a few spots of solid ice with the recent weather. Maybe some other day will be better, unfortunately with a Killington trip this month and other Pocono Mountains to try this year I don't think we will be back this season to find out. There are just too many better choices out there that aren't as boredom incurring as BC for an extra gallon of gas or two. Enjoy! ps- The Hillbillie BBQ on the way back down 100 south just passed Passmore Rd. on the right was awesome. Look for the Green trailer if you like good old smokey BBQ. The beans were awesome and I'm sure to love them later too! The wife, not so much! Happy Valentines Day Honey!

Wait... I thought your speed was 51 not 53? Here comes the pissing match... Gaper? Considering I ski once a week (maybe) on 2-3 year old 1080 Twin tips, only when the weather and conditions are perfect, and the radar gun has a + or - 1 MPH accuracy, my 52 MPH pass wasn't to bad. I don't own FAST skis so I can't really compare on how they would perform, maybe next year. This sounds like a game of pool where the player blames his cue. It Ain't the arrow, it's the archer...maaaaannnnn. I'll end the pissing match now. Since it was down hill with a stiff wind and Mars was in line with Venus , I'd say the radar gun was off for both of us. Your speed was really 54 and my speed was really 51. Solved. I also figured that I should mention that when I was holding the radar gun to go and clock others (and fell) I clocked myself at 55 MPH on my "fast ass spider pants". So there Timber, man, TIMBER!!! Get it right. Yeah, GSS getting his groove on was priceless...

C'mon now. You know I can't afford to be standing around for who knows how long waiting for people. Especially since the new regime at Blue hath taken away the most critical half hour of any weekend ski day, 7:30 to 8:00. Oh By the way. It would be really nice if all the open trails on the mountain were actually groomed and open when people get there not an hour or two after wards. I'm not thrilled with the "new" Blue but the conditions were good overall and it is still the best bang for the buck as far as travel and mountain are concerned. Maybe we'll see you beeaches next week, if the weather is good

OK Trying to post pics but I can't....and the wifes membership hasn't been updated yet. As soon as it is taken care of I'll post up.

I have some pics to add also. Unfortunately I wasted my Canon SD700IS camera today so I have to break out the SD card reader later tomorrow as we are heading out AGAIN to hang with some people tonight. Camera Tip: When skiing gaper gear and the suit is a little tight, keep your point and shoot camera in a pocket all by its lonesome. I had it in a pocket with some Aveeno Lip crap and when I turkey tucked once (Very Gaper) I could feel everything tighten up and the lip crap totally screwed the fragile little lens this thing has. Oh well. Live and learn. The funny part is I actually had the camera out and was filming a razors run previously for about half of the run and nothing happened. The video I wanted did not come out, though. The subject was just way way too FAST! The still action pics did , however, come out pretty good so I'll post them tomorrow. Today was a fun day and it's was nice meeting all of you. One of the best group fun days yet. (for me at least)

Here's an idea. Buy PASR and moderate it. Then you can do whatever you want. Last time I checked places like the lounge have descriptions like "Not related to winter? Chat about it here!" That basically means it's a free for all. So here's yet another off topic post in a thread with some cool pics. Also maybe when you say "pictures inside" people just look and move on that's why your views are higher than your replies. Maybe next time you could say" Pictures inside, don't look without posting something, bitches" Do these threads make you mad? http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11283 http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=184 Some people enjoy them... Not 100% of your posts are winter / skiing / on topic... http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p...mp;highlite=%2B Really, does it matter that much? IMHO not really. Ignore the ones you could care less about and bump the ones you like. Its that simple. Did I mention cool pics?

Fat Ski's...I used to ski this shit on some cheap ass 185 stick skis. She don't need no fat skis. She can suffer.lol. This Hotel is great. Covered parking underneath. Wireless Internet (no crap). Sittin here watching Tru TV (Not reality, actuality) Cops is cool, huh huh huh...huh huh huh.

Blue is an all around OK mountain. They lack where other mountains in the area succeed. Bear creek, for example, has a better lodge than Blue. Camelback has better trails than Blue but it's not as close and it's customer service blows. Nothing like closing a lift without making an announcement first. I'll just agree to disagree at this point. I have better things to do than argue with you, like pound sand. I simply come to this forum to get an unbiased opinion of what is going on at the local mountains. I don't need the sales pitch from certain employees, other employees have great information. The reality is, I don't spend a lot of money skiing anywhere. I have connections and get good deals or free tickets to ski about half of the time. I am a fair weather skiier and like conditions to be excellent if I am going to make the trek out. That being said have a great time this evening and see you at the Gates tomorrow morning.

You're right. Making comments about being the best mountain would have to include grooming, wouldn't it? Or is it OK to say we are the best everything all of the time except for what affects the quality of the trails you ski or board on...grooming.
-
Show me the old grooming schedule as compared to the new one.

Instructor or outside sales?

In your opinion... reading some of the recent reviews Blue has some work to do to be "the Pocono's Best Ski area!!" Although better than most, the word "best" is kind of a definitive term that most mountains hardly live up to, especially in PA.
