  1. Don't mind her... We are not...and will not be up that early. 5:30, maybe. See you mo fo's there tomorrow.
  2. I'd drive a million miles......to be turned away...now that song's in my head, nice GSS! Everybody have fun tonight, Everybody wang chung tonight... Sorry, I could't help but to let the 80's come out! I have to say that I could have never seen this type of thing happening anywhere, then again I avoid HIGH volume days such as this specifically because of this reason. It's a shame that this happened. I still think Mark is comitted to making things better. The 2 for 1 deal isn't a bad idea. To get to come back on a day that is less busy would be a blessing in my eyes. As far as the parking for season pass holders, let them mortgage their $14,000 space if they really want it . I also find if pretty funny that the pass holders are the ones causing the problems. I know a good CCTV / Security company... Just think of how much better Bear Creek will be with all of this constructive criticism going on

    Stop

OK Lets only post positive things on PASR for now on. That way we all can really blow smoke up (Insert Mountain Here)'s ass. Lets all pretend that there are never any issues at any mountain and that the management at said mountains are omniscient. This get's my vote! I promise!!!
  4. Unfortunately the "Enemy of The State" instant satellite imaging is not available to the general public...yet.
  5. Restaurants are kind of different. I have never planned to go out to eat, called in reservations and been turned away at the door, money in hand...get my drift? I am the guy who will, and does get things taken care of when they are not right. I even tip at or about 20% when the waiter or waitress is not at fault. I have also left 1$ for the ones who disappear for a half hour or more and leave us with empty drinks or just plain suck. That's the only way they will learn. These posts prove that there are intelligent, understanding, and grammatically correct posters here in this forum. It's a shame that the only input some people have to provide is "Bob's an asshole" or "Less people in the lift lines" but such is life, I guess! I also can't believe this topic has gone on this long especially after I clearly posted that I understood Mark's explanation. To all of the people who actually contributed something here, Thank you, even the ones who disagreed with me. To the rest of you, thanks for wasting space on the server that hosts this web page. But then again opinions are what these types of forums are about. If your only opinion is that I am an asshole, so be it...and thanks for the compliment.
  6. kids, kids,kids..... Just in case you are lost this, is the Bear Creek forum. Bear Creek sells tubing tickets. Sorry that I had to spell it out for you. Edit: supertrooper12 nice edit....now my quote has no point
  7. Mark, I would like to thank you for your detailed and well put explanation on last nights events. I can sympathize with your situation regarding the construction issues as construction almost never goes as planned. While this didn't help the situation last night I can see where you are coming from. At first glance, I see a situation like this to be business as usual but you have made it clear that this is not the case. I feel that training and communication are very important for an establishment like Bear Creek to flourish. It is very frustrating when I try to promote a local establishment with friends and family and this is the result, hence the phone call last night and the post in this forum. I can also understand that sometimes the help isn't exactly stellar and just short of teaching people manners and how to clean their room you can't prepare ahead of time for every situation that may occur. That being said I would like to clarify that my feelings toward BC are a culmination of events. The first is the layout of certain trails and their approach to the lift lines which you addresses to sexkitten and others in another post. The next issue that comes to mind is the help. There is no reason that I should have to wait for the girls at the register in the cafeteria to finish a personal conversation while I stand there, money in hand, waiting to pay for my lunch that is getting cold by the minute. It would also be nice to see some of the friendly, "we pretend to care" attitude you get at some of the other places where prepared foods can be purchased. A simple "Hello how is your day" or "Thank you. Have a nice day" can go a long way. I have also had to explain to a girl at the ticket counter that the total for 2, 4 hour lift tickets is $76 not $94. I had to almost argue with this person and step back to look at the posted rates sign twice to get my point across. For a minute she had me convinced that I needed a basic math lesson. I then was provided a credit for the $18 difference. Then the tubing thing. Hopefully you see my point and my thought process. I always try to follow the rules which is why I became so frustrated over this seemingly miniscule event. My only problem now is dealing with my wife. She likes your establishment. I taught her how to ski there so she has an attachment to it. I am not looking for any freebies as this was not the point of this post. I feel that you understand where I am coming from and have already (suprisingly) taken action to eliminate the possibility of this happening in the future. I can respect that. While it does not change my decision about where I spend my "riches" as it has been put, Leslie and I will have to talk about it some more. Thanks again for your time and explanation of the recent events. Bob
  8. Considering I registered on 1-20-06 I'll assume that DHarrisburh's comment was about others on this forum. Bitching through a forum...It's called word of mouth advertising. It's usually the best form of advertising (Positive or negative). As for the reps...The only comments here so far are from Home Mountain Supporters: Boy these all give me the warm and fuzzy about Bear Creek (notice the correct spelling) I have to go now. I need a shower because I was out with my wife and friends last night spending our riches on alcohol and absorbing the rest of the smoke that didn't get absorbed into peoples lungs....Later.
  9. Thanks for the honest reply. It's nice to see an opinion with out being called a "dumbass". As for the free passes, I'll let you know. I was watching the tubers in the past thinking,"Wow that looks pretty fun" we'll have to try that someday. I couldn't help noticing the way the tubers get air over the little hills along the ride and thought it would be a lot of fun. I guess it could get boring after a while but I wanted to give it whirl to see what it was all about. Afterall, it does look like an oversized burlap bag slide you would see at a fair but it still looked like a lot of fun.
  10. Once again thanks for the excellent avice. If you would have read my original post, I acknowledge the fact that they have to make money. You, my friend, are the dumbass. Some of us who have things to do actually like to plan things out ahead of time, like what we are doing this evening. It's a little disappointing when you clearly make efforts to ensure that every things goes well and you get crapped on because BC doesn't follow their own rules. Sure, a flat tire could have ruined the evening too but that was not the case.
  11. If you would actually read my original post I did try to get something done at the mountain and when we got back to the house I called for a better explanation, the answers didn't coincide with each other. For some who is not trying to be an asshole your getting my vote! Also, please don't comment on my financial status especially if you don't know me. I drive a Honda Civic and My wife drives a Mitsubishi Lancer Oz Rally Edition, hardly the money that see rollong around the BC parking lot at any given point. The fact is I try to spend my money wisely and "going to Blue" is my advice for anyone who is trying to do the same when taking into consideration the extra drive and the amount of money that can be spent on a day. "call up bear n see what they can do. or just stick by your word and never come again." Again thanks for reading my original post and for that wonderful piece of obvious advice. As far as the "complaining through a forum" comment, I thought this is where you could discuss the good, the bad and the ugly about your experiances at the mountains in the area. Maybe I was wrong...or we all live under the Chinese Government now.
  12. Not one f up.. another thing that makes me not want to spend my money there, thats all. It's a combination of mutiple things, this just sealed the deal. The best you can come up with is a comment about my name? Someone should bitchslap you for making such a stupid comment, where's my powder! I was thinking the same thing...as for the Bare instead of Bear, that was intentional for the really, really dumb ones. Here is a lesson in english for those who need it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homophone
  13. Here is how the night went: http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7907
  14. I'd like to say thank you to Bare Creek for totally wasting the later part of my evening, and the evening of the others in our group who wanted to tube. They some how allowed an "Illegal Group" according to the less than literate woman on the phone, to purchase the rest of the tubing tickets for the evening BEFORE then went on sale at 6:30 PM. Nothing like trying to promote an establishment and getting a big F**K You. The web site and the phone call we made earlier more than made the on sale time very clear. 6:30... This apparently is not the case. I would think that the terms sold out mean sold out, as in the maximum capacity that the tubing area can handle in the allowed time. The person at the counter said there was nothing that they could do. Once back to where I could call in to get a better explanation from the guest services manager, this was not the case. She made some sort of bullshit "Well we could have done this" attempt to make us satisfied. If sold out does not mean sold out then why use the term "SOLD OUT". Seems pretty simple to me... I have this to say: Bare Creek is a poorly managed establishment. My wife and I will NEVER spend another dime at their facility. Their less than cafeteria grade food is very overpriced. I guess they have to pay for that new lodge...makes sense. The mountain seems to have several engineering difficulties with grade and the amount of polling required to ski a simple run like timberline. Nothing like having a trail end at a lift line with a grade so steep that people can't stay out of your ass. I will trash any free or complimentary tickets I have or receive and I will speak negatively about the mountain to whomever is looking for a place to go tubing or skiing. Don't waste your time there. Take the extra time to go to Blue Mountain or another facility. The extra drive is worth it. Lesson learned.
  15. I had to bring the T43 to have something other than skiing, sleeping and ....Well you get the point. Leslie skied Outer Limits...the las 50 feet of it. I skied The whole thing, didn't fall and my legs burned more than several continuous runs on challenge. We skied sunrise, bear and skye for today. We mainly stayed on the blues and greens. We took great eastern a couple of times because it was narrow and fun once you realize where to speed up to avoid polling. Tomorrow we will be starting on Ramshead and working our way to the left facing the mountain. It looks like tomorrow will be better because we won't need the map as much. Maybe I can talk Leslie into posting her take on things. We'll let you know how things go. Tomorrow. Later
  16. We are here...it's cold and I can't wait! It's been 10 years since I last skied a "real" mountain. Plenty of toe warmers, hand warmers, and layers to wear. Waiting for Pizza Jerks....better be good 'cause I'm fing hungry. I am definitely going to take the suggestions on good starter trails but I think Sexkitten will have a sore ass if she follows We'll let you know how things go and if we lose any digits to frostbite. They claim the wireless internet only works in the lobby and surrounding areas...I'm in our room and I can see 5 wireless networks from all around...Unlike Doug, I won't be spending any time in the lobby later...
  17. This is one of the more technical posts I've seen here in a while....and I love it! If you're interested in some pumped storage tidbits then check this out: http://www.exeloncorp.com/ourcompanies/pow...ge_facility.htm I have done some work here as a contractor.....very cool to see. As for solar power... the storage and efficiency of the available technology along with the current energy density of available battery systems just aren't here yet, and the cost is rediculous. Diesel generators all the way! Edit: As for cost increases, they still have to stay competitive.
  18. I use Wicks wax...
  19. It's not a bad analogy. It simply states that there are some really inconsiderate assholes that are raised to think their shit doesn't stink and they have no consideration for others. Unless the park people are walking back to the beginning of the park then they very well could be the people blocking the lift exits along with anyone else. And as sexkitten has said (thanks baby) my credibility should not be affected by my lack of "Jeopary" knowledge of all mountains that exist. What would affect my credibility are things like: Length of membership on this site Number of posts The fact that in 2 seasons I have skied maybe 20 times (with sexkitten) I am just getting back into the sport. Sexkitten is new at it as of last year. I have skied Gore, Whiteface, Killington, Mt Snow, and Okemo...and have the stupid little cartoon cahracter pins to prove it. Hopefully my credibility is climbing again. Cartoons go a long way I just like to make sure I know what others are really saying. To a park pass advocate MC might mean something. To a forum newbie like me MC, ROFL, LMFAO, and TTIAWOMT all kind of run together. Once things are nicer I will probably spend little time here (except for Doug's raps) until it's time to ski again. I would much rather be working on the house of riding my MC (Motor Cycle). I can here the cheering now.......
  20. Cool I never knew you could qoute yourself! Sorry Doug..... Anyway this sport is getting expensive: Day lift Ticket at Blue $40 Park Pass $5 Black pass $5 Double Black Pass $5 Fried Oreos $3.50 (i think) Half a tank of gas $14.00 Early Bird Season passes.....priceless! :lol
  21. I can see your point. My posts are negative at times (mostly) and unfortunately that's just me. I'm not trying to ruin anyone elses time, but simply providing feedback that will help the event grow into something great. If I would have made some suggestions to the guys at the pond well before it started, what do you think the response would have been, regardless of my approach or attitude. I make decent money every day having a negative approach to things and the ability to find what I would consider to be flaws in things. In the future I will try to not piss on everyones parade here. You did a great job keeping the lip as good as it could have been I just feel that it shouldn't have been as big as it was. I left after about 10 minutes so I didn't see the leak and ....... I also would say the the event being free is not entirely true. We skied Saturday and would have not been there sunday had it not been for the pond event. We purchased lift tickets along with many other just to see the event. Anyway, I expect that next year's event will be even more interesting than this years. I also plan to participate. That way if I do have something to say others can't say "you didn't even try it"
  22. I'm not disagreeing with you (for once) I just don't see the logic on how they will work. I've never been to MC (what does MC mean) or Stratton. If you have a bunch of local's who frequent the Mtn. you are probably going to have a different mentality than a bunch of tourists (for lack of a better term) that don't care and have the money to burn.
  23. Sorry ...I also voted for no passes.(now at 5) Not that I don't think that something needs to be done, I just don't think that passes are going to fix the problem. Etiquite can not be taught by people that don't know what it really is. I also see the same thing on the regular trails. How many times have you come off a lift and had 5 or more people sitting accross the trail instead of singe file along the edge of the trail. I guess it works both ways... CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry for the Rodney Reference but I couldn't help myself)
  24. ahhhhh! Park passes again? I can still remember the day when blue didn't allow Boarders.....now park passes. At first it seems like another way to gouge the consumer out of another $5 (or whatever they'll cost) BUT, I have waited at the entrance of the lower park for my turn to go and hit on of the 1st jumps and many times there were other people waiting there in front of me....out of nowhere comes a bunch of professional assholes rolling right out of the boarder cross section right into the park without consideration for those of us waiting our turn. Judging by their ability and the tricks they performed I would guess these same people are the ones complaining about not having the park passes. Here I am waiting my turn and eventually I got to go. I would think that the problem would still exist even with the park passes. You can't force people to have common sense and $5 sure as hell isn't going to make it suddenly appear. I'd say that we live in a world where parents don't parent anymore (not all parents) and kids are given whatever they want when they want it. These so called amateurs that are causing the need for the passes are always going to be there. $5 and a video doesn't make someone respect the rules of the land just like getting your license won't make you obey the speed limit, I almost never do.... You have a very good point.....The key words in your comment are "with mommy and daddy" there's the root of the problem.... Mommy and Daddy certainly can afford a pass and will probably buy one.
  25. Glad ya think so. Check the video in this forum. Every one that f'ed up hit the ledge at the end of the pond. http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4303 Maybe you and I didn't see the same thing but the video shows a couple of good examples of what I'm talking about. 4 years olds also fall, bounce and keep going....I'm a little bit older than your average 4 year old. Sorry to disappoint you. Maybe you could provide some lessons?
