  1. this is the blue forum, not boulder.
  2. super stoked for the finals on tuesday. i've had a lot of fun at the fever this year...hopefully the snow holds w/ this rain and the landings shape up a bit.
  3. it's saturday at the King of Prussia mall parking lot. starts around 12 or 1 i believe. on another note, i just talked to cosco and it appears as though he in fact will not be attending on saturday.
  4. props to toast for a little filming contribution, along w/ justo. I'll be there sat/sun open-11ish. bright blue jacket most likely....or maybe some forman mills piece if it's warm enough.
  5. i'll probably be there for opening. i gotta work at 12, so i'll be there from like 730-11ish. that probably means no rail jam for me
  6. hey debbie downer, why don't you just be stoked that there's a legit railjam in our area with a 1500 purse for skiers. props for gettin at least someone on the skiing side of things, even if he's not a "rail skier"
  7. definitely. after last night and these warm temps, the jumps are tiny. i'd love to see a good 45 footer or so with a good long steep landing.
  8. i mean the last one in the tubing park jump line haha. the second of the two, lowest on the trail, the bigger one.
  9. yea i agree with that, that's what i was trying to say before...that there's a little space to still squeeze by through, but still a large enough fence to deter people away. haha so true. i just think something needs to be done to make the park safer, every single person i rode with this past weekend who was hitting jumps, myself included, had an encounter with getting cut off, or almost hit someone. my vote is stepover style jumps that are big and intimidating with real wide lips that leave people little space to "just ski by" and more space for the jumper to take off from.
  10. i was up last thursday, and the up rail and the last jump in the tube park were both money. love that stepover style jump, just could use a little more kick to it.
  11. agreed completely, and add a little bit steeper landing than it had.
  12. you could still ski up the lip of the jump to check it out, and i dont think the fences would go all the way to the edge of the table, making it impossible to get by without hitting the jump. there'd obvioulsy still have to be space at the end of the fences to get through while scoping the jump out. good point, but i don't think they're lame really. i think they'd save a lot of injuries and scares.
  13. first off, thanks for replying with a legit post haha. i think the signs would work to a degree, but i think there'd have to be more than one or two on either side of the jump to actually slow people down/stop them. and then even if they were going slow, they could still acces the landing...and a gaper going slow down a landing is worse than one going fast and getting off of it quick haha. good thoughts though for sure.
  14. agreed.
  15. Let me start off by saying that i think the current set up on sidewinder park is the best park i've ever skied at blue. most of the the rails are set up real well, and the jumps are decent and flow real well. that being said, here's my two cents and ideas for the jump situation at blue. 1. Crowd control - we all know that blue gets pretty crowded, especially on weekends. Suggestions: Make sure that all entrances to sidewinder are fenced off Make sure the steps are shoveled Fence off the landing to the last jump in the jump line (the one before the wall). The first 2 or 3 you can scope out pretty good from the hip, so it's pretty easy to tell when it's safe to drop. The last one however, is always a guessing game. 2. Jump Structure - as i said before, the jumps are pretty decent. Suggetsions: Make them bigger-all the jumps seem pretty small. Bigger spins seem a little forced even of the last one in the jump line. I think a good 45+ foot jump would be awesome, as long as the landing matches the transition of the take off. Change the style of the jump. The last one is pretty solid, the table style one before the wall, but all the landings seem a little short, and are pretty high impact. Now let me state that these are just my opinions and observations. I think keith and park crue are doing an awesome job so far this year and i've been really stoked on riding at blue. However, these are just a few things i personally think could help make the park a little more fun, as well as safe, to ride. Here's a little illustration. in the top image, is the style jump i'm referring to that i think is really safe, and fun to ride. the bottom image is what blue's got now (hit before wall) with the suggestion of a fenced off landing, no collisions.
  16. i believe joey fruendt won. he's a good kid, stoked he ripped.
  17. speaking of 1260's, i don't know how the hell charles gagnier didnt break both of his legs on that last hit switch 1260 with the way he "landed"
  18. sounds sizable...i think i'm gonna try and get up there some time this week.
  19. how big are bears jumps now? havent been up there since it's been consistently cold out and i was wondering if they've changed em up much?
  20. stoked that even though it's postponed, it's still happening next week. alex bugbee = real american.
  21. so stoked that it's in the pipe!!! hopefully everything gets rolling early this week. i gotta be at work at 12 and i'd love to hit the pipe up for the comp before i roll out. if it starts by 10, i'm definitely doin it!
  22. jeeez, that's horrible news. RIP, and much love to his family. damn.
