  1. Wait... let me get this straight here. Blue has a 65ft jump in or around a turn? Last time I was there (which like I said was years ago) there were no major features in or around the turns. Maybe a small rail/box, and of course the wall ride. If that's the truth I'm def not spending extra money to ride there while I'm home, cause that is just ludicrous.
  2. i hated the bomb holes at blue... i'd either ollie off to the side before the end of the rail or try to hit it with a lot of speed and clear the hole. i think glenn is right though, less traffic, and a better base is the solution.
  3. I'm home for 9 days around xmas, but i'd guess the conditions out there aren't really going to justify paying to bring my board and gear onto the plane. not gonna lie though, i sorta want to just to see what it's all about these days. edit: that being said, i'll prolly have my climbing gear with me mr. zaldon.
  4. I'm no fan of windy terrain parks either, and I haven't ridden Blue's since it has been widened or since the "maintenance" has improved. All I can really comment on is that it was a pain back in the day, and you'll never see a national comp on a trail like that because it doesn't make for good media coverage of the event. Really it has nothing to do with "windy parks aren't as good", you simply can't put spectators and media on a trail like that easily. edit: i also don't think blue has ever claimed to have the caliber terrain park as places that do host such events. in addition, i've been in windy parks and had fun. it's not the end all be all, but it certainly never helped blue's park.
  5. Agreed The comments across the interwebs talking about how the magne traction allows you to tune less and still keep an edge were what peaked my interest since I tune my board once a year. However, like I said... i'm not sold on it yet.
  6. i wouldn't worry about that... i think you van solved that issue.
  7. You speak the truth sir. Right now it is the "Glenn's Pile of Miscellaneous Debris Room" if anything. You'll def get your chance on it, cause I want to see if I'm metal enough to ride a Nitro.
  8. Yea, I used to spend a lot of time in the parks back in PA because I found overall that the rest of the mountain was not as fun (not to say I didn't ride all over the mountain, but had more fun in the parks since all the runs were so short). When I moved out here I sold my park board to get something more Freestyle/Freeride. I picked up a Burton Custom, and have to say overall it was a great board, but last season the nose and tell started getting a lot softer then then middle of the board. It gave it a squirllier ride that I wasn't stoked on. That and a nice core shot at Keystone made me think it was time to retire it. The Custom wasn't floating in the pow as much as I wanted, although it certainly wasn't bad. I toyed with the classic knowledge of going bigger/wider and picking up a pow board, but didn't like the fact that I'd lose the playfulness of a freestyle board. So reading the zero camber and rocker reviews it sounded like it would fit me well. I went a sized up from my Custom on the Rider's Choice in order to gain float that way in addition to the added float of the banana. Overall the flex is softer then my Custom, but it is more consistent tip to tail. I wanted something a touch softer though since I've ridden with a few people out here that just ride everything on the mountain like it was the terrain park, and that really appealed to me as I used to skateboard. So I wanted something I could dick around with more. So I got a softer board, and softer boots. We'll see how it all works out. As far as the Magne Traction goes, I'm still not totally sold on it, but I figured for the price I got the board for it was worth a try. Either way, I can't wait to get on the thing. I had to put in in the garage, cause I kept staring at it sitting in my dinning room. Stoked!
  9. here here! wait... there is a NY & New England Forum? Doesn't that cover it?
  10. can you make up a long floppy flesh colored one with a white pom pom on the top. pretty sure i could resell that one pretty quick.
  11. He must of had a few too many of those free coronas.
  12. So the Dialogues feel great and fit well. Went to get my pass yesterday, and picked up a twice used 09 Riders Choice BTX for $210. I still want to pick up some new bindings, but I need to curb my spending a bit for now. So maybe a midseason purchase, or if a good clean snipe deal comes along. So my quiver this year: 09 GNU Rider's Choice/05 Burton Custom Bindings/09 Solomon Dialogue Boots.
  13. Hey does the t1 have the zero camper or is that only in the new models?
  14. i go for whatever cheap non cotton socks are available at the shops. tried the all teched out ones with like different density materials in different areas, and they feel no different then a straight up cheaper sock. the only reason i even buy a "snowboard" sock is because they are usually really tall, and i like having ones that come up almost to my knee. that way they won't slide down. my favs so far were the 7 dollar 32s i got last year at buy 1 get 1.
  15. I haven't actually tried them on, which I know could be a bad thing. However, I picked them up on brociety for 80 bucks. So I jumped on them in hopes that it will work out. If not, I'll send them back. Definitely, a chance but if they work out I scored a great deal.
  16. Let me ponder this while on the river this weekend. I'll get back to you next week about it. If someone else wants it between now and then don't feel like you need to hold it for me. I'm dragging my feet, and if someone else wants to jump on it then good for them.
  17. What would you charge me to ship it to Westminster Colorado 80021?
  18. After listening to Glenn go on and on for months about how good Solomon boots are I decided to give them a go. Picked up a pair of Salomon Dialogues, I will say that the lacing system is sweet. So I hope they work out.
  19. I got one hella cheap on sierra trading post a few years back.
  20. Lil more info and maybe pics of the riders choice pleaze
  21. I'm guessing because its what he had and is used to riding. Seems like a waste of money to me though to rock a 168 pow board at a PA resort. How much do you weigh btw? Oh, and Dan... I was just giving you shit. Don't get all TT on me now.
  22. Been reading up a bunch on this stuff. Evo has a few FAQs that are put together nicely, all basic stuff but thought someone might learn from it: http://www.evogear.com/info/helpcenter/494.aspx Anybody, have any experience with the k2 rockers? The Turbo Dream sounds pretty sweet in my opinion: http://k2snowboarding.com/boards/turbo-dream
  23. Word... it seems like riding a rockered board that is the same size is going to, for lack of better words, "exponentially" increases my turn-ability. Which is exactly what I'm going for. I do want to demo though for sure... I may not pull the trigger on anything until the end of the season, but I want to get a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for in the mean time.
  24. I was under the impression you could get away with a shorter board if it was rockered when talking powder. So it seemed to me like I could get a rockered 156, and get more float at the same length I'm already at. I'm aware I'm in CO. I rocked a 154 when I was in PA, haha. If I was looking for a pure pow board (a la open bowls) I'd certainly go 159 (if not slightly bigger), but I spend most of my time in the trees and I like to be able to tun hard quickly. Is my thought process wrong here? I'm certainly open to suggestion... all this rocker business is all new to me. So the more I can take in the better.
