    Goggles

We were testing them by walking out of his apartment and onto his second story deck on a perfectly clear day in boulder. The change is practically instant. They went from clear to the darkest they get in what seemed like under a second. We then tested them against my IS Designs Type Rs that were top of the line 3yrs ago, a pair of Dragons, and a mid Range Oakley (name is escaping me). We looked right into the sun glare coming off the cars out front, and the Zeal's easily eliminated 50% or more of the glare (probably more then that, but I can safely say 50% without feeling like I am exaggerating). My only real complaint with them is the color options. Most of them are black/white when it comes down to it, and the few colors they make have a tribal print I'm not so keen on. If they put out a brown pair similar to my Type Rs, I'd be in heaven. That is why I keep bugging my buddy to tell his boss, haha. At any rate, I'll be rocking a color I'm not 100% stoked on, but the goggle will more then make up for it. Not to mention Zeal has been very good to me in terms of free stuff. So I'll keep promoting them by wearing them.

Bummer to hear they were bought out. I think Zeal will as well at some point, but I hope they stay strong and local.

I def dig their photography! I'll need to shoot that pic over to my buddy at Zeal, they are slacking on that front.

<plug> Zeal Optics http://www.zealoptics.com/ Screw changing lenses. Get a pair of Zeal Goggles, and they change for you. The only company to make polychromatic polarized lenses. They are also bomb proof. My buddy handed me a pair a few weeks back and told me to try and break them. Didn't even come close. I can get you 25% off. Let me know. </plug>
  5. Only when trying out a buddies board here and there. The last time I've ridden a pair has got to be at least 4years ago now, but I wasn't impressed then. When I look for bindings, I look for as few screws as possible holding the binding together. Every screw is one more point at which something can get loose and fail. My theory may be flawed, I don't claim it to be the end all for everyone's needs. However, it has worked well for me. I had countless friends in the past destroy bindings because one screw came loose, and by the time they realized it they completely destroyed the binding itself from the stress. Call me lazy, but I don't like to putz around checking screws all the time to make sure they are tight. That being said, Ride has always had a ton of screws in their construction. So I've always steered clear.
  6. I see what you are saying. I knew what bindings he was referencing. I saw them and wrote them off right away since I'd never buy a Ride product. So I wasn't 100% sure what the purpose of the tech was. I don't buy bindings based on how easy they are to put on, they all seem pretty easy to me. I look for tech that improves performance, and I guess I just assumed that thong thing was supposed to do that in some way. So yea, sell em.
  7. Oh I know what they look like, haha. Wait...erm, sometimes I just can't tell with you Glenn. Never mind, sell those POS bindings. Edit: jibhonk, steeze, stoke. whew! almost forgot those. this post is thrice legit now.
  8. From what I read it sounds like your biggest gripe is that you can't strap in standing up, and they took some time to set up? You did mention they were a bit on the tight side, but that may change as they break in some. I guess what I am getting at here is it sounds to me like you went into this with a shitty attitude, and are tossing them aside over minor things. Either way it is your choice, but that is what I got out of your post. BTW: I hate ride bindings.
  9. couldn't resist.
  10. Well, I certainly wouldn't turn down the wine. Gwen and I might take it at some point this winter just to say we did.
  11. We can take the Ski Train to Winter Park, but I would only do it for the experience/scenery.
  12. wow that is totally not worth it. i'd ride with some random long before dropping 200 to ski JF before lift tickets.
  13. i know nothing about this place, but the fences are snow drift fences. you see them out west here all over the place next to roads and such to keep the snow from blowing across the road. looks to me like they have them mounted across the mountain to help keep the snow/debris from sliding down the hill and in front of what looks like a cat track near the bottom. probably has other purposes too, but that is my opinion at first glance.

  15. I say rock them liners. If you notice a difference, swap em back.
  16. yea, gotta use it preseason. i still may have some time though. need to check the fine print.
  17. i'll keep my eye out for you in the airport DH, i'll be landing around the time you'll be arriving for your flight. edit: to clarify, i meant i'll be landing in philly while you are arriving for your flight to denver.
  18. Went climbing yesterday and froze my balls off. So it is time to switch seasons. Anyone been to Copper at all? Got a free pass at Warren Miller, and I'm thinking about hitting it up on Saturday.
  19. Blue couldn't jack a better Stowe logo, my god, hideous.

Regardless, I'd rather not end my season due to a broken tail bone just so I can have a stronger one next season.
  21. Gwen works for the Daily Camera and scored free tickets for the show. Only real reason I'm going. You should stop by the next time they show The Big Lebowski. SO FUN!
  22. glad to see you guys are getting out. i'll keep climbing, and wait for more snow though btw: anyone going to the warren miller premier in boulder on friday? i'm ready for my yearly dose of "sking was so much more fun when i was younger and sleeping in my car with a camera".
  23. I just keep my point in one of the pockets up near my chest so i can get it out easily. I used to take my SLR out, but at that point it was in a Pelican air tight/shockproof case in a backpack.

You are failing to account for Texans. x2 Than you for summing up what I was trying to say in a much more eloquent way. If you don't want to wear them fine, but don't act like your better then someone else because you don't.
