I'm heading up to elk on thursday, and I'm just curious on how the conditions have been since this ice storm mess? Did elk get mostly snow, or the same ice we got down near the LV? I'm going either way, but I was just curious. Thanks!

Just my two cents... If you have the cash, DO IT. I always wanted to go, and probably could have while I was still in high school. However, I was too froogle and did not want to spend the cash. I still want to go, but don't have the money. Not to mention, the older I get the harder it is to shell out that much money. So I say do it while you can. Go out and have a freaking blast. You are going to meet so many people and make so many friends. Then when winter rolls around after camp you are more then likely going to know people all across the country that you can meet up with and crash at their place and ride their local mountains. Do it man.

If there is exposed wood make sure it sits in a dry room for a few days before epoxying it. If you don't you are going to trap in the moisture that the wood has taken in and it will break down from the inside out. It will probably not stay sealed as long either since the epoxy won't dry properly.

I'll second the 32 lovin. I have a pair of 32 Team 2s. Freaking awesome boot. The even cooler part about them is you can decide how stiff you want them. There is a plastic plate that can be slipped in behind the laces to stiffin up the boot if you are planning on staying out of the park. Then on days you want to be in the park pull it out for a lil more cush for the push. Great boots, and they are bomb proof. Not to mention they have freaking awesome liners.

I've been checking these things out, and it seems like a ton of fun to ride. I just can't really throw down the cash to pick one up. Wish I did.

I've got a pair of Dakine pipe gloves, and i've had them for about 5 yrs now and they are still going strong. I even have worn them hiking a few times and worked great while gather wood to keep my hands protected. I use them 90% of the time, but if i head north or we get some nasty weather i bust out my Burton Overmits which are warmer then Jenna Jameson's whoo whoo after a 12hr recording sesh.

Snowing pretty good here in Kutztown... anyone know what the weathermen are predicting? Yea i could check... but why navigate away from PASR?

I rock a burton dominant with burton custom bindings and i'm not a huge fan of the board. my next stick will without a doubt be a never summer. i can't knock the burton bindings though. however, i tend to stay away from all the new tech they put out until i've seen it in use at least 3-4 seasons. they do dump a lot of money into new tech, but i think they also rush a lot of it out into the market so they can paten it and then fix the kinks later. back to the bindings though... on my old board i have a pair of synchro's from i think 02 and they are still working like the day i bought them. nothing has broken, the only problem with them is the teeth on the straps are getting a bit rounded. so occasionally the will pop loose. not surprising though for a binding that is 5 years old, and has been used and abused. when i got my dominant i had no desire to even look at any other bindings, i was just gonna buy a new pair of synchros. they stopped making them though so i got customs which are (after getting them home and comparing them) the exact same binding. I upgraded them with the toe straps once i got a chance to talk to a few people about how the toe straps were working out, and i love those bindings. i think a big thing with burton is just waiting to see what tech works, and what doesn't. don't just go out and buy the new thing for the season until you've seen it in action, and know it stands up to what you want to put it through. i think just like every company, they have a few good products and a few bad. nobody can really say that any one brand is terrible all together. they all have a handful of products that are bad, good, and great. you just have to take the time to research what is out there, and what is going to work for your style of riding.
