Seems like with such big feet you'd just want to focus on finding which bindings fit your boot nicely. Then narrow it down based on what you want in a binding such as stiffness, toe strap vs reg strap, high back vs short back, and so on.

Just trying to find out if there are any job openings. I saw on the website they need a terrain park manager. So i emailed yesterday inquiring. Figured I'd post about it here too since i know a lot of BC staff frequent the forums. I am moving to Boulder, CO this summer, and don't want commit to a job in my major until I get out there. However, I graduate in 2 weeks, and need to make some money! haha. So if anyone from BC can fill me in on what is available I'd love to get a job there since it is close to home. I'll be a college grad, i have leadership experience as the KU Outdoors Club Vice President, first aid/cpr certs, and worked all summer as a river guide at Pocono Whitewater (so I am familiar with the outdoors industry). I am a web/graphic design major. So I'd love to work in the marketing department, but would be willing to do anything (like that terrain park manager spot sounds awesome!!! haha). I know Jenna who I believe is one of the managers in tickets, and was told to use her as a reference... Please, let me know if you have anything. A PM is fine. I know this isn't the most professional way to job hunt, haha, but like I said... I know a lot of you are on here every now and again. So i thought it would be a good way to grab your attention. Thanks!

Speaking of game consoles... i know it is old, but would anyone be interested in a Sega Saturn. I got like half a dozen games and a racing wheel for it too if anyone is interested. Been meaning to eBay the bad boy, but i've been procrastinating.

My point exactly. I'm gonna say just drive home.

I'd have to say that you should be packing at least a zero degree bag if you are gonna be camping on the AT mid winter. Especially factoring in a long wet sweaty day of boarding before it. I did a section 2 years ago in March, and my zero bag was almost not enough. Also the fact that you want to "I would also like to see what im capable of doing as far as surviving a night up there." Is the exact reason i would tell you not to do it. You should never go out on a trip just to see if you can survive. You should go out knowing you are capable of surviving. Not to mention the sentence prior to the one i just quoted makes me want to persuade you not to as well. Please keep in mind drinking may make you feel warmer, but thins your blood increasing your chances of hypothermia. In addition if you are drunk you won't be able to notice the first 2 stages of hypothermia setting in, and after that it is too late (especially if you are alone). I'm all for drinking and camping, hell i just spent 3 days doing it, but don't be stupid.

I'm not giving up snowboarding in any way, haha trust me. I just really don't dig those split boards and I've always thought tele marking was sweet, and would love to do it in the back country eventually. I'll still be taking my board out there too! I just want to experience as much as I can before I die, haha. Oh, and I've just always wanted to prove the skiing is easier then snowboarding, and this is the only way to prove it. You better believe if i get a pair this season I'm gonna be owning atomic Jeff

Why does every park in PA have a shitty website?
nick malozzi replied to swdorsey's topic in General Chat
Because none of them have hired me yet to redesign them. -
I know a lot of you are going to give me hell for this, but I am in the market for some skis. I'm moving to boulder in a few months, and over the past few years, I've really gotten into backpacking. I'd really like to get into some back country exploration while I'm out there, and know damn well that carrying a board around will really be difficult. So I'm looking into learning to ski, and eventually telemark. I want to get some practice though before going out to the back country and killing myself. I have NO idea what is good in the ski world, so I am looking for your advice. I want something that is good and solid, and is an all around ski. If i pick it up quickly (which i have a feeling i will since, ive been ice skating since i was 5) you know damn well i'm going to want to huck myself off a few jumps. With that said, a twin tip would be nice. I'd also like something a tad on the fatter end since they may eventually be used in the back country for my first couple of trips while i feel out my next buy. I need advice on boots, and bindings as well, because i really have no idea. Also, price is a consideration as well. Long story shot, i'm looking for: -Fairly Price Skis/Boots/Bindings -Twin Tip -On the Wide Side -Good To Learn On -Good Solid Construction -I am 5'9" 165lbs size 10 I'm all ears! I also wouldn't be against used equipment. So if you have anything sitting around let me know!

Haha, yea i know Crouton, that crazy hairy bastard. Good dude. I'll def stop by the tune shop. I'll prolly be there all the time since i am just trying to work a seasonal job and save some money before heading west when my gf graduates. I don't really care for Bear Creek that much, but it is halfway between my house in Bethlehem, and my gf's in kutztown. So it is a good fit, especially when you factor in that i can get a job no problem, haha.

Hey guys, i go to KU... well i graduate next month, but i'll be around the town anyway since my gf doesn't graduate until may. I don't know much about the Ski/Snowboard club, but i know one of the guys who runs it. Solid dude. I will more then likely be working in tickets at bear this winter since i know the manager. I am also the vice president of the KU Outdoors club. come check out one of our meetings, I'm sure you guys would dig it. We meet Tuesdays at 11 in boehm 262. We are having a bouldering competition December 8th. So if you guys climb come and enter. It is free to all KU students. If you don't climb stop by anyway to get free stickers/posters/etc, and enter to win a Mountain Hardware pack. If you compete we have prizes from Mountain Hardware, Lowe alpine, Asolo, and Horny Toad. Check out the facebook listing for more info: http://kutztown.facebook.com/event.php?eid...6880&ref=mf Posters for the event will prolly be posted over turkey day break. Let me know if you have any questions about the club, the comp, or hitting the slopes. peace!

I HATE THE STEPS IN FRONT OF THE PARK
nick malozzi replied to yardsaleclothing's topic in Blue Mountain
x5 - Been saying this privately for a year or so now. Probably not you. You seem fairly level headed and intelegent. Just ease up on the paragaph returns, haha. -
You can buy other stuff that is cheaper then under armor and works pretty much just as well. EMS makes a version of it that they call Tech Wick. The benefit to wearing Under Armor, Tech Wick, or something similar to it is that it wicks the sweat and moisture away from your body. I personally wear the cold weather weight stuff to ride, but you could get the warm weather stuff and just wear a tshirt over it. That is essentially what the cold weather stuff is. Just wear a polyester shirt over it, actually anything over it as long as it doesn't have cotton in it.

Just finished making flyers for these to post around campus/ktown. I'm giving the flyers 7 days and then to eBAy with them... Bump.

Sweet! I was going to come up around 2-3 on friday and stay into the evening. With sidewinder opening though i think i may have to drink one or two less thursday night and head up to blue earlier. ...I was wondering there for awhile if we'd ever see the day it opened.

How do they fit inside a helmet? They look pretty big.
-
I'd rather not ride on a modified baby diaper chemicals thanks. Wouldn't be too fun to face plant into.
-
I don't mind the ski clubbers except the fact that they need to learn how to count to 6. I rode the 6 pack last night about 5 times after the clubs arrived and each time it was just me and my GF on the lift. I also looked a few chairs up and behind, and every chair i saw had under 6 people on it. Then i have to wait in line for 20min the next time around because they are too worried about sitting with people they don't know. JUST GET ON THE F-ING lift so we don't have to wait in lines. I think the lift operators need to be more pushy about that and make the kids get on the lift. Not only does it create huge lines, but it makes the top a cluster fuck too. Since they all go up in groups of three or so then all clog up the top waiting for the rest of their group. They all could have fit onto 1 or 2 lifts and it would be a lot safer for everyone.

Reading this is like watching a cripple fight. We all know BOTH mountains are not totally up and running in any facet of their operation. Especially terrain parks. Blue has made tons of changes that nobody has even seen yet, and BB has stepped things up huge as well. Just wait until things are actually 100% before making any judgments. Seriously everyone just shut up and let this one die.
