anyone have a picture of the school bus

for some reason i'm still not all that excited. just seems like the bus coulda stayed in storage... not to mention i just got a message from the park crue myspace that they are thinking of moving the bus more to one side to make a rhythm section. i'm in favor of that. in fact, lets just burry the bus completely and take the rail off it so we can make a big table top with less snow. plus then that rail can get installed somewhere better.... ok i'm tired and grumpy. need to go to bed and stop bashing the bus. -

i'm in art school... and yes that IS blood pouring from his head. see good design doesn't need explanation, even when it looks like piss! -
true, but a buddy of mine who i only get to chill with during winter/summer break wants to go. so if he calls me and says "let's go", well then i'm going. if not i'll be at blue (he is fairly unreliable, so i'm gonna guess i'll be at blue).

i may be there around 6, unless i decide to go climbing instead.

Rode the 6 pack tonight with a kid that works at blue. I think he just works a lift or in the lodge, but i asked him if he has heard anything about how they are setting up the bus. He said that they only plan on burying it up to the tires. So my bet is there will be snow all the way up the hoop and a very tiny gap on if it isn't ride on. I thought i'd draw a picture of my prediction based off of this info... -
I take it you weren't refering to me? Anyway, all i know is the rails blue has on come around right now blow.

Got there at 730 cause i drug my feet getting up there tonight. ICE ICE ICE. Man was it icy, and not too much fun on a park board that is ridiculously dull. Took a few minor spills on lazy since i couldn't get an edge to dig into that stuff. Then tried out the park only to find out everything there was even icier. So i hit it once and left. Can't wait for some more runs to open!

I can't personally comment on the build quality. I was just pointing out that amount of snow really holds no bearing. Yes i've seen the pics. The cliff thing looks fun, but sorta pointless (like the bus i might add). The stairs look nice, and the rest of the rails look well built, but i can't really comment furthur without trying. I'll make it there this year i'm sure cause i know a kid working in the lodge who doesn't ski/ride. So i think i am getting his pass for like a case of beer. Just got to wait til i get back to KU to work that one out. WTF: why am i on here i was supposed to be checking the weather so i knew what to take with me up to blue tonight... shit i could have been there already. Peace!

the amount of snow available really doesn't have much effect on how well a jib is set up. I mean all it takes is a lil snow to make a jump and the snow to make the landing. Now i myself have not been to bear, but what i am saying is you could set up a nice jib in a parking lot with a backyard blizzard. It is obvious that blue put very little time or effort into the current terrain park. their main concern is getting as many trails open as possible, but were smart enough to know that they had to at least offer some sort of park or they'd lose business. Bear i'm sure spent a lot more time and money getting their park up and running ASAP because other then that Bear Creek really has nothing else to offer. It certainly isn't vert, or # of trails, haha. Give blue a chance to get sidewinder open, i think bear is gonna be in a distant third. Especially if Blue manages to set that bus up right... but i don't have to much faith in that.

i think i just threw up in my mouth a little.

I have no problem with it if it keeps out the idiots. I normally don't strap in until i'm in the park anyway. So i'm sure i can find a way to hop up those stairs on one foot. "Big Dog Booters"? Wow i don't even know what to say about that.

Plastic or not i don't see too many inexperienced people trying their hand at it. Shit it makes me nervous thinking about how if i'd come off that rail i wouldn't be landing on snow. Like i said in the past, I'll wait to give my opinion on it until i see how the snow gets worked around it, but my preliminary opinion is that the bus was a waste of time and money regardless of what they built on top of it. -

just a little design hint from a fellow designer... if you have to explain your design it is a bad design. don't forget design isn't art, it shouldn't take explaination to understand it. also...well nevermind. -

the windows will prolly be buried so it won't even matter. -
it helped with my balance and agility too.

Man i didn't see a hoagie on top of that thing! I'd have hiked over and ate it if i did. (Side Note: Firefox's spell check doesn't recognize hoagie. The first flaw i have found. I mean c'mon Mozilla, hoagie is the proper word for that deli delight! It does however yell at you if you don't capitalize Mozilla.)
-
the windows are prolly made of that safety glass they put in short buses so that when they put helmets on the fidgety ones they don't shatter the glass banging there head on the widow. Yea, i'm going to reserve my judgment on that thing until i see it buried. However, i saw it today from the lift and it looks sort of lame. Seems like keeping it strictly a butter box would have been the way to go.
-
my m3 was a lil on the stiff side for what i like... so i just buttered whenever i had the chance and it loosened it up a bunch. just manual and hit butter boxes every chance you get. you can even do it standing at the base waiting for your buddies. just ollie and go from nose to tail, nose to tail, so on and so on. may not help a ton, but it should give you a little bit of a softer ride in time.
