  1. Nice.
  2. Reading comprehension has always been the thorn in my educational side. My apologies.
  3. I'm pretty sure he meant 60ft across/wide (read propagation) not 60ft deep.
  4. yea, the amount of info is almost overwhelming, haha. i've found the best way to stream line it is twitter actually. CAIC has a twitter account for each region. So I follow the region I ride in most, and some surrounding regions so I can see what's coming or happening with storms as they pass, etc. The tweets are pretty much the bare bones must have info. So on days they are reporting high activity I tend to follow it up by reading the actual CAIC site. Seems to work pretty well.
  5. Isolating the column with a cord then?
  6. I like the fact that it folds, eliminating the need for a sheath/cover that will more than likely blow away when you inevitably forget to secure it during testing. Speaking of sheaths/covers/bags. Tell your your bc crew to lose the useless carry bag on their probes. Watched a number of rescue scenario's at my class this year. You wouldn't believe the time people waste pulling out their probe, than taking it out of the bag (which is even harder if they keep their gloves/mits on), and then erecting it. Just a lil tip I came across.
  7. Thanks Johnny, no worries if he can't hook it up. I know how coveted proforms are, and I understand that it can be weird to just hook up some random with it. Much appreciated though if he can make it happen. I'm all set on all my other gear (beacon, probe, shovel). I could use a snow saw, but I'm not super stoked on the BD ones. They are nice if you get the shovel/saw combo, but I'm cool with the shovel I've got for now.
  8. I have no plans of giving him that satisfaction. If I use the ignore feature he knows he can say whatever he wants without me seeing it. I plan on just not acknowledging his presence. Besides, I do sort of enjoy watching him make a total ass out of himself.
  9. FYI: I'm just done with you at this point. Try all you want, but bottom line is this... You're a delusional tool that would be even worse off without mommy and daddy. Keep grabbing onto whatever fad gets you through the day, and let me know when you get a solid girlfriend so I can pull the money I invested in Fleshlights and KY. Enjoy your nachos, smoke one for me. You're ignored from here on out.
  10. Thanks for the advice. My apprehension at the moment is fueled a lot by the fact that I've been slacking off on reading the daily reports. I need to get back in the habit again, but works been kind of crazy. The warm weather on the front range though is also keeping me off the snow. For one, the snow is not stellar from the heat, and my mind is wandering in the direction of climbing/biking.
  11. I know it's hard to imagine hugoboss, but there is this new thing, a fad perhaps, that's sweeping the interwebs. It's quite amazing, and predicted to be be bigger than facebook and twitter combined! They are calling it sarcasm. Check it out! It's even free to try!
  12. 30 something with no gf/wife/kids... you should ski nothing BUT bc terrain. not too many people to upset if you go missing. a little dark yes, but it's the truth.
  13. Glenn may not want to take advantage of the proform, but I'd be willing I had a buddy with one, but like the proform scenario goes most time. He's lost it at this point, haha. fyi: i'm extremely serious about getting one. i'm foregoing a pass this year in favor of a splitboard. so i'll be out there a lot. i have not taken Avy1, but there is a great organization out here that offers a course that is ALMOST the equivalent of Avy1. I've taken it twice, and plan to take Avy1 before next season. Also, in real life i'm not even REMOTELY as big of an asshole as I may come across on this forum, haha. just ask around.
  14. right on... must have read your original post wrong (hadn't had my coffee yet). glad that in the end it was still a great day. sometimes the close calls make for great experiences. unfortunately, they also have the makings for the bad stories.
  15. Dude, scary shit. When you said on facebook that you triggered some sluff I was picturing MUCH smaller and MUCH less active. Wow, glad you're ok. Wet slabs/slides are scary (not that any slide is not, but wet seems especially bad). Wet slabs/slides are what is sketching me a bit about Berthoud right now. Mainly because I slacked off reading the reports and feel like I'm a little out of touch. How long do you think it will take for the Ridge up there to re-stabalize?
  16. Yea, prolly wouldn't bother me unless it pushes them forward. I actually typically remove the adjusters completely. I like the freedom and the flex, lightens the binding, and it's one less screw to come loose and get lost in the woods.
  17. I always mount my bindings without worrying about centering so I can get my angles right. Usually I strap in just to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Then I unstrap and strap just the boot in and center it up. Strap In again, and make sure the centering didn't make my angles feel off (typically that isn't an issue). Then I make sure my high backs are straight (lining up with the heel side edge). A lot of people ignore or forget that step, and some bindings don't even allow for that adjustment. Realizing I could do that made everything a lot more comfortable. Then I usually stand in my board and watch TV, throw some 3s in the living room, piss off my neighbors, etc. Sounds dumb, but do that for 30min, and you'll realize pretty fast if your board is setup right or not.
  18. wow, the only legit crew on this site (in my opinion) that actually still lives in PA goes out to utah and gets it done. they post ALL THERE OWN PHOTOS AND VIDEOS of them riding a huge VARIETY of terrain, limited but necessary lifestyle shots, and short and to the point details about the trip. fuck the rest of the trip reports, this was it for the season. yea the montana tr sucked... but that was in fact my goal. so thanks for letting me know i was successful.
  19. yup, montana totally sucked. never going back. utah will probably blow too. moving back to pa cause allentown is where it's at. i'm such a n00b.
  20. Props on the pics, and the 50days. I sure miss college scheduling! Keep getting at it!
  21. Because they weren't all in one album on Facebook, ass hat.
  22. oh wait... you didn't take these shots? they are still awesome, but i thought you actually shot them yourself. why didn't you just give us the link so we could see them all in the first place?
  23. i neg repped your post by mistake. shit's looking good. sorry about that. have any more?
  24. Delicious. I know write where you are in those pics. I lapped the shit outta those trees on turkey day. They were crazy good for that time of year, and I was the only one in them. Told multiple people on the lift to follow me in, but nobody listened. There loss in the end, but I really wanted to hit a tree jib I found in there and it felt too sketch to hit knowing nobody was around in case I jacked my shit up. Anyway, looking good. Steamboat is just amazing. Make sure you at least hit the hot springs in town before you go.
  25. Nicely done jeff. Looks like I picked the wrong week to ride outside of Colorado. Still plenty of season left though.
