yea i start classes on tuesday, but i am going to try and make it up close to every day at first, unless i get hit REALLY hard with work off the bat.
-
i think i may just go up early and if the quad is too busy ill just take the double chair all day that takes me to the top of the parks.

Anybody planning on heading up monday on Dr Martin Luther King Day? How bad does blue usually get? I know CB used to get crazy, but with the warm weather do you think there will be less people there? I have off that day entirely and could go up for some early runs in hopes to beat the majority of the crowds, but i dont want to go if there are TOO many people there. Gimme some opinions...

odds are ill make an apperence at some point

last night was my first night on my new dom (read thread in the gear section about my old dom). so yea, first night out on it, and my first day back in the terrain park in about 2 weeks. it was my best night in the park all season. this years model has a lot more pop then last years. which is rad, and it holds onto rails and boxes beutifully. i just hpe i dont break this one too.

i'll be up there around noonish. look for an 05 burton dominant (white on top) with white custom bindings, a flat black helmet, brown goggles, black pants and prolly a green jacket. my haggard hair will be flying in all directions from under the helmet. thats a dead give away. hope to see u there.

they called me about 15min after i made that post. i picked it up at about 530, slapped on my bindings out in the lot, and tested her out. no pink on it anywhere and this years dom has ALOT more pop. which was my only minor complaint about last years. so i am a happy camper again.

I watched them do about 3 runs on the course i was impressed. Jeff wanted to spot me 5 beans to race as well, but i was on my new schtick and wasn't sure how it would handle through the gates. I decided though that next time those guys are up there i may give it a try. I think i could give some of you guys a run for your money.

i'm going up tonight. so i will give you my opinion. even if nestors fails to call me and tell me my dominant is in. im going in on my old board I DONT CARE! i need a park fix!
-
yea the weather here in bethlum leads me to think blue is gonna be pretty bad tonight. im going to get my new phone in a lil bit. so i hadn't planned on going anyway. ill be there tomorow to watch dougy fresh mop up nastar though. has greg confirmed that he is going. i wanna ski with that putz one of these days!

Called Nestors yesterday and a really cute sounding chick told me she would call burton to check the status. Got a voicemail about 15min later from her saying burton shipped me a brand new board as of Monday in the AM. so burton came around for me. just gotta wait for the shipment now to see if i gotta rock pink or not.

If you ever plan on entering a park please read this

and be sociable. there is nothing worse then when you pull up the big group at the top of the park and you say hello or ask how everyone is doing and everyone gives u the evil eye and ignores you. i freaking hate that! i don't want to know your life story. just looking to keep things light hearted and let everyone know i'm a friendly guy. if everyone was a little more laid back and remembered that being in the park is fun then everyone will be much happier. don't act better then anyone. you should only compete against urself. push urself not others. -
i was wondering what happened to you! haha. glad to see you have returned to posting in a fist of fury! i have to agree on some levels.

most good lenses come with a nice cloth to do it with. i usually just blow off any big specs of dust, because sometimes they are big and sharp enough to cause damage. then gently use the provided cloth. if you didn't get a cloth stop by any eye wear place (perscription, sunglass places, eye doctor, even a camera store), and ask for a lens cloth. some places will give it to ya free, and if not its only gonna be a buck or two. toss that baby in your jacket pocket and u are good to go.

Whoa wait a minute... Is this the same jollyjake from WAY BACK in the day on rideCB? If so, where've ya been man? I agree though. Get two.

Try hitting a few of the smaller jumps. Just be careful not to get a huge head of speed going so that you can't control yourself. With jumps remember that you need to ollie similar to what you do on a skateboard. You dont just jump straight up. If you do this you will more then likely get really squirly and prolly fall. Ollie like you are on a skateboard...transition your weight to your back foot, put some flex into your tail and pop off it like a spring board. Right after the pop use your front foot to level the board in the air. If it is your first time i recomend getting a helmet if you don't have one. Small falls are almost painless if you have a helmet on. Just be aware of how you fall, don't put your hands down to catch yourself or your wrists are done. Try to take the impact on you hips or shoulders, and even your butt if you aren't landing on ice or falling that hard. I wear pro-tec ass pads, and i would recomend them to anyone. My tailbone would be non existant if it wasn't for those babies (btw: who needs tail bones anyway? we don't have tails anymore). As for the halfpipe, just ride in and ride up the walls. Each time through try to go higher and higher up the sides. Before you know it you will be airing out of the top. The only way is to just try, but be smart about it. Take a few normal runs first to make sure your body is warmed up and loose, and don't expect to go in there and get huge air. Learn the basic mechanics of it and then work on harder things. I'd avoid the rails and boxes entirely for now.

check ebay. i got my IS Design R-types for like 40 bucks, and they retail for around 80 i believe.

i find that hard to believe about burton bindings. i had my synchros for three years and never had a single problem. the only thing that went wrong was the teeth on my front right strap were wearing out and starting to slip. i think after three years though that is an understandable problem to have. i could have bought a replacement strap for 5 beans and prolly gotten a countless more years out of them. however i bought last years customs so they would match my board better. so as for that replacement part thing, i think that is bogus. technine may produce equal or even better quality gear. that i don't know because i have never used their equiptment. nor do i know anybody who does. i am simply saying that burton makes some great bindings, and i have been more then happy with mine thus far. haven't had luck with their boards thus far though (Read thread about my dominant). However, from what i am hearing that is an issue that seems to only run with their dominants and not their other models.

I'll let you know in a few days when i go up and try it.

i haven't had time over the past week since i was doing the family holiday thing. i was thinking about tomorow, but i need to go to verizon to get my new phone, and it looks like rain. tuesday, possibly wednesday will be my first day back at blue. hopefully my new board will be in by then.

make sure it has a strap to hold onto your goggles in case you fall. because if they pop off you will never know. go for comfort and make sure it has some sort of way to keep your ears warm. if you are an music person check out the ones with the built in headphones.

with excetion to the placement of the table top in relation to the kicker up trail from it, and some of the dug out landings i completely agree with you. i will say though that i haven't actually been to any other terrain parks in pa yet this season. so i am sure others are great too, but blue's has kept me very happy thus far.
