i think bell will be and maybe sunday river, no killington though.

belleayres been blowing for a while now.........

yeah too far for too little. im still hoping for the 11th though.

i hope they open, but with other resorts further north not opening i cant imagine that bell will. i heard killington will not open for a fact. for some reason killington is not attempting top to bottom while sunday river is, and they are both asc resorts so its not finances. i hope i dont have to drive to nc but ill seriously do that if i have to.

me and my friend just talked about it, and were pretty sure were going to north carolina on wednesday. i know its insane, but i want to snowboard and im off work that day so why the hell not?

if i was religious id be praying right now. but all i can really do is hope now. how many trails did bell open with last year?

woodbury is opening today i think with a 6 inch base haha.

if they open im doing the same i did last season, leave at 1 am, get there, have breakfast and start riding when the lifts fire up, ride until 4, then drive home. and about the lisensces, its a law that all states must accept other states laws, whcih is how someone from iowa with a lisense at 15 or 16 can drive in nj where you have to be 18 to get a full lisense.

maybe theyll get some natural before then so the ropes can be ducked, then you can ski without the rest of the northeast. happened last year, and ski patrol actually told us whcih ropes to duck for the best snow.

psh im going to the first place thats open to get some turns. the river is pushing it, thats gotta be like 8 hours each way. i day tripped cedar point in ohio this summer and the drive home was terrible and its about the same distance. maybe if i dont drink at the river i could manage it.

by late start i meant im still spoiled by riding powder last halloween at killington, so anything after that feels late haha

bell is closer, but killington will have basically the same vert open and the terrain park. ill end up goign to bell most likely since day tripping killington last season basically sucked. driving 14 hours in a day with riding sucks.

they have alot of natural to build on, i could see a midweek opening next week, 11th should be a definate. i was at the first opening last year and it wasnt too crowded so i hope this year is the same

haha megan i wish i was loaded. i just manage my money well. im still in college and have a part time job, i just dont waste all i make on alot of non-snow related things. my bc pass is offpeak and a few friends got a pass with me so it was only 170, very cheap.

i got one, but im second guessing myself after seeing the whole bb jiblab thing. i bought mine before all the info came out, so i think im going to get a big boulder pass also.

personally i dont think there is a single "fair" solution to the problem. most terrain parks have signage at the top and they still do not keep people out, most people, especially these "gapers", wont take the time to read a sign even if its directly in front of them, for example the singage on how to board a lift, closed trail signs, ect. i do agree that park passes are in a sense unfair. free park passes shouldnt be a problem though. maybe a good solution would be to have a stamp on the lift tickets that validates park usage so someone could check at the park entrance, all they would have to do at the ticket window is ask 5 quick and easy questions that outline the basics of park riding, and if a person shows to have some sort of knowledge they get the stamp oh, and blue gets avalanches on the double blacks?
